Good with dogs,
Story
Meet Kage, the ultimate good boy who's just so darn cute! This gentleman is a pro at house living, fully potty trained, and a master at walking on a leash and harness. He's a social butterfly, getting along famously with other dogs and loving those backyard playdates with his pals. Kage is a stunning mix of Lab and Border Collie, the perfect blend of intelligence and family-friendliness. He's just the right size, like a mini Lab or a slightly larger Border Collie. When you find two fantastic things that go together like peanut butter and jelly, you celebrate! Kage is that winning combo, and now you can celebrate by making him a cherished member of your family. His temperament is pure gold - sweet as honey with everyone he meets. Now, here's the scoop: Kage is a special needs pup, and he's looking for someone who can be with him about 90 percent of the time. Storms, rain, and loud noises send him into severe panic attacks, and he's been known to chew through walls when anxiety strikes. Crates aren't his jam because of past storm-related trauma. He's also dealing with seizures, so he's on medication for that. Kage would thrive in a local adoption, and he's best as a single dog with no cats or small animals around. He's a wonderful companion for older kids, and he loves nothing more than cuddles and long walks. He's got the whole house training thing down too. His foster mom adores him and has prepared him for his forever family as best she can. Now, the ball is in your court. Remember, when you adopt Kage, you're not just bringing home a good boy; you're giving him the loving, understanding home he deserves. Don't shop, adopt, because Kage's life depends on it! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Good with dogs,
Story
Tulsi Sleeping: She is used to dog beds, a nice furry rug but has never slept in a human bed. She is free roam day/night. She chooses dog beds in primary room or living room. Vehicles: She is used to riding in a pick-up's back seat (never the open bed of a pickup). Has been car sick on winding roads. House trained: Tulsi is fully potty and house trained. She has had no accidents since a young puppy. She will walk to the back door and sit/stand to alert she needs out. Tulsi does not need a crate when you are out of the house. She's never been in a crate during the time she was in her adopoter's home or current foster mom's home. She is not a counter surfer or a chewer. Treats/Toys: Tulsi enjoys bully sticks, furry stuffed animals with squeakers. She takes treats softly with a gentle mouth. Doggie companions at home: Tulsi has lived with dogs her whole life. She's never been a single dog. She's lived with small dogs and large dogs of both genders. She does not care for cats. She has a strong prey drive for squirrels and is VERY fast and strong when she's got her mind on catching that squirrel. This would likely go for cats too. Tulsi does enjoy playing with her pack mates but is almost more content being inside with her people. Best home environment: Tulsi's best home environment would be with a calm confident doggie pack mate so she has a playmate. BUT honestly she'd do just fine being a single dog with an active person. She seems to want the attention of people over the attention of dogs. She is a velcro dog and wants to be everywhere her person/people are. She would even do well as a small home/apartment dog because she is quiet, not destructive and very body aware. She doesn't knock things over. Tulsi would also make a great waking, running pr hiking partner. Personality: Tulsi is a very loving dog and loves to be pet. She loves to raise up on her back legs and give hugs as well we receive. She has good recall with "TULSI COME" and appreciates a treat as a reward when she comes. She doesn't jump on people as if she has no boundaries, but has been taught to ask for hugs and scratches this way. She is a big soft gentle girl that loves baby talk. She is an excellent companion. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Tessie is a 5 year old petite 45lb brindle mix looking for a forever home. She was adopted out as a puppy and lived with cats, kids and other dogs in the past. She can be selective about her dog friends so would need a meet and two week trial run to ensure compatibility - she tends to do better with male doggos / ones that don't get into her business, but she's a wonderful listener so that helps as well. She will take a little bit of time to adjust, but with the right patient owner she will be a great addition. She is a perfect leash walker and loves car rides! Tessie's adoption fee is $250 and she's fully vetted / ready to meet people any time. If interested in meeting this gorgeous girl, please apply at www.foreverhomedogs.org and we will reach out!All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

Story
We got Harper from a farm in Knoxville, IA. She is (almost) 10 months old (born 11/2/22). We are looking for a home with no, or older children, space to run and explore, and a family that will continue to work with her on her reactive behavior. She is an incredibly smart dog, loving, friendly and loves being around people. Her activity level is moderate. She loves to play (she loves to bring toys over to play with) and also loves to nap. She plays very well with other dogs and regularly attends doggy daycare without issues (the employees love her). She has been very well socialized to a lot of people and places. She knows a lot of commands and has excellent recall. She is very well trained and we have worked with her a lot since we brought her home (took classes, worked personally with a trainer, etc.). We have specifically been working on her reactiveness and resource guarding as she exhibits both of these behaviors (she snapped at our young children resulting in two level 2 bites).

Meet Cleo! She’s very friendly and well behaved. She’s potty trained and listens very well—she knows sit and stay. She’s playful and loves other dogs. She’s an indoor dog, but she loves the outdoors. Cleo is 2.5 years old and weighs 32 pounds. She’s a border collie mixed with a scruffy terrier, so she’s very smart and active.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as ''Out of Town'' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.September 24, 2023, 9:25 pm

Story
Are you in search of a one-of-a-kind serial kisser? Well, look no further, because I, Mandy, am the dog you've been waiting for! I come with a mix of awesomeness and a charming 5-year-old personality that's sure to steal your heart. I can be delightfully laid-back, enjoying those calm moments, or I can transform into a bouncing ball of joy when the mood strikes. Walks and jogs? Count me in, especially if you're by my side. But here's the thing-I love playing with other dogs so much that I often choose their company over toys. Let's talk sunbathing. If your couch has that perfect spot for catching rays, you can bet I'll be there, soaking it all in. I'm a big fan of lounging, whether it's under tables, during dinner time, while you're working at your desk, or even when you're cuddled up in bed. I'm all about being close to my people, and if you choose to adopt me, I'll be all about you! I'm a sociable girl, getting along well with other dogs and kids (especially with submissive/non-dominant dogs). My crate training and potty training with a doggy door are top-notch. I'm a pro at commands like going to my crate and sitting patiently. Now, about my diet-here's the deal: I have EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency), which means my pancreas doesn't produce the enzymes I need to digest food properly. Thanks to some attentive rescuers and veterinary care, we've got it all figured out. I'll need a specific diet and a pancreatic enzyme replacement supplement to keep me feeling great. Think of it as a special appetizer and entree at every meal. EPI won't slow me down, and I'm ready to trade serial kisses for a loving forever home day in and day out. So, how about it? Story
Mac is a sweet boy who knows what he wants! He does love to chase and play with animals smaller than him. Due to this we suggest that he does not go home to a family that has cats or things like chickens. Squirrels watch out! This little guy can move! Mac also enjoys being the only dog. He would prefer a home where he is the center of attention and can soak up all the puppy love from his people. He is a lazy boy and does enjoy snoozing and spending time on the couch napping but at the same time can have his moments where he is ready to go. He is housebroken and does just fine in a crate! If he sounds like the boy for you then don't wait! Story
Meet Phoebe - a seriously loyal and loving gal who is searching for her forever family! Phoebe found her way to our rescue, and although we don't know much about her past, we are determined to give her the best possible future by finding her the most amazing furrever family. If you're reading this, we hope that you're looking for a best friend, because that's exactly what Phoebe is! Phoebe is an absolute gem - she is potty and crate trained, and with a slow introduction, she gets along well with non-dominant dogs. She's also incredibly smart, fiercely loyal, and super sweet. One thing to note is that she has a strong prey drive, but she also has excellent listening skills once she knows you are in charge and follows the rules without hesitation. In her current foster home, Phoebe lives with cats, dogs, and kids, and has adjusted well. She enjoys resting and sleeping in her crate, which is situated in a main living area next to her foster mom's office desk. Surprisingly quiet while her foster mom works, Phoebe loves routine and will go into her crate on her own if she has any inkling that you are getting into the milkbone box. While she is an excellent athlete she is also content resting in her kennel while observing the hustle and bustle of a busy household. Although it took her a couple of weeks to get adjusted to her foster family's home, once she was accustomed to the routine, she fit in perfectly. She's a dog who thrives on routine and structure, and she deserves a family who can provide her with both. As well as a pet parent who understands a cattle dogs strong personality. If you're looking for a devoted companion who will be by your side through thick and thin, then Phoebe is the dog for you. Please go ahead and submit an adoption application if you think Phoebe could be your next furrever family member. Basics. Cattle dog/terrier mix. Female. Approx. 1-2 years young. Spayed. Up to date on shots and preventions. Strong, smart, and sweet. Excellent on a leash using a Gentle Leader Headcollar. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
