Story
What do you get when you mix a Border Collie/Aussie mom and a Husky dad?  This guy! Marsh was born around the middle of July and his situation for the first few weeks of his life was pretty rough - living in a dirty, unkempt backyard where there were multiple adult dogs and a couple of litters of puppies.  Hard clay dirt and no grass with no clean water and on top of that, almost no human contact.  Luckily Critter Cavalry was able to step in and help Marsh and his siblings, along with their mama.   They all came to live in a nice foster home where they quickly learned that there was so much more to life than what they had previously known!  Marsh has stunning brown and cream coloring, with touches of white, and mesmerizing eyes. We expect his adult weight to be in the 50 pound spectrum as an adult. Marsh is the clown of his litter, the attention getter and mischief maker (in a cute way). He leads the others in their games of tug and catch-me-if-you-can, and they happily let him lead the pack.  He pesters his mama until she reaches the end of her patience. When his foster mom sits down with the litter, Marsh is the first one to nose into her lap, trying to get ALL the attention. Marsh has also inherited the husky trait of 'talking' from his dad, so some very unique sounds come out of his mouth.  Anyone familiar with Huskies knows how interesting it can be to hear them talk. With his stellar good looks and engaging personality, you cannot help but fall in love the second you meet this special boy.   If you are interested in adopting one of the most adorable puppies around, consider contacting Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. He will be ready to hop on the van in Nashville October 12th and ride to meet a new family who will take him home to love for the rest of his life. Hold on to your horses and get ready for Marsh to invade your life in all the good and fun ways. Fenced yard is required.           PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comOctober 4, 2024, 10:14 pm

Story
Ellie is a 6 year old border Collie/ Jack Russel mix. I have had her since she was 8 weeks old and she lived with me full time until about a year ago when I had some circumstances come up which forced me to relocate. Ellie stayed with a good friend of mine for this period while I lived away. I believe she has been experiencing separation anxiety However at this time she can no longer stay with my friend. I have only a few days until they take her to the shelter so I would really love to find a good home for her. She has some anxiety and needs someone who has time to give her attention, she just wants a companion of her I guess you could say. overall she is a very good girl. This breaks my heart and I'm hoping that I can get updates on her so I know she is okay wherever she goes. She just needs a good home.

Story
Please contact Sarah Maraschky (sarahm@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young boy eager for LIFE! DINGO NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!  Name: Dingo      Best Guess for Breed: Border collie and terrier mix   Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of July 2024      Gender:Male Approximate Weight:48 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested Currently Living At: DC area boarding partner -- needs a foster or forever home! Special Adoption Considerations: Dingo is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Dingo is Looking For: His forever home! Through no fault of his own, this handsome boy ended up in the shelter. He is full of fun, young dog energy and is ready to have his own humans to trot alongside on sniffy walks, romps in local parks, and all the adventures they can dream up! He likes making new doggie friends and is a gentle player. Exploring all the toys also sounds great, as well as some delicious kibble and a cushy dog bed.   Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and loved and under his own roof every time the sun goes down. He especially loves pets and belly rubs and will happily sprawl in the laps of shelter staff, asking for love. In exchange, he promises adoring gazes, cuddles, and loyalty for all his days.   What do you say? Is Dingo the companion you've been looking for?  What My Foster Says About Me: Dingo is an amazing pup! He loves people and will just crawl right into your lap. Dingo will also do anything for a belly rub. Within 2 minutes of meeting him, he was on his back and wagging his tail. Dingo loves long walks, lounging on the couch, and being right by your side. He did a great job sleeping in his crate and had no accidents in the house. He is such a sweet boy and will be a wonderful addition to anyone's life.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Here's what my foster mom says about me: Claire is one active bundle of cuteness. She gets along well with Toasty (foster's dog) and would do best in a home with another similar sized ACTIVE dog. She is very nose active and loves to sniff around. She would do well with someone who wanted to play some scent games with her. She would also do really well at agility. She has been using my furniture for Parkour practice! She is very food motivated (hence the few extra pounds around the middle). She knows sit, and tends to sit if she thinks food might be around. She also does well in a crate for a few hours. You have to be aware though, that she comes out at full speed and spinning. Claire loves stuffed animals, especially the squeaky kind. She will even bring some to you so you can toss them for her. She also tries to taunt Toasty with them, which he does in return to her. She will steal treats from him, so any already existing dogs would need to be okay with a bratty sister. No accidents so far with the doggie door and back yard being available. All pottying has happened outside. It took her a few hours to understand the dog door. I now have it propped partially open and she can get out and in on her own. Even with it closed she can get back in because she scratches at the door and the dog door opens, voila.Claire acts a lot like a corgi mixed with a boxer. She's constantly batting at things with her front paws. She has that Corgi shape to her body and ears. That also means that she needs to go to a family that's willing to work with her on her batting at people and jumping on people tendencies (older children or children used to exuberant play). She likes to climb up on the chair with me and then crawl around on me, including my back and shoulders, until she finds a spot she likes. A lot like a cat! Once she finds a spot where she can cuddle and get petted she is the happiest pup. She had no problem feeling comfortable quickly.  Claire is a super sweet and loving dog - just the right size and has a great personality! Put in your application today, and make sweet Claire part of your family! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training.
