Story
*Woof* I`m in a foster home. To meet me reach out to my foster caregiver at ktare2010@gmail.com. If you`re looking for a best friend who loves everyone he meets, Hank might be your perfect match. This sweet, gentle boy has spent time exploring the city and charms everyone wherever he goes. At home, Hank is the definition of a couch potato. He loves nothing more than curling up on a big soft couch and spending quality time with his people. He`s friendly with dogs, cats, and humans alike, making him an easy addition to many different households.Hank is a smart boy who is learning quickly. He`s making great progress with house training, has started mastering `sit,` and is eager to learn new things—especially when treats are involved! He`s also building confidence every day, including conquering stairs that once seemed intimidating.Hank is currently recovering from surgery and continuing his physical therapy, but he doesn`t let that stop his sweet spirit from shining through. Everyone who meets him falls in love with his kind personality, affectionate nature, and easygoing attitude. If you`re looking for a loving companion who will happily join you on adventures and then snuggle up beside you afterward, Hank is ready to steal your heart!

Story
Shae is a sweet young lass. She's a big more tentative around new things than her brother, Simon, but warms up quickly. She likes to sit on your lap, in fact, she'd like nothing better than to cuddle on your lap while watching TV.  Shae would like to be your new BFF. As she did not learn about sharing in school, she would do best as an only dog in the household.  Shae comes to us from a shelter in rural southwestern Virginia. Shae and her brother, Simon, as well as their father, were seized from their owner for neglect (starvation). An anonymous donor has become Shae's Guardian Angel, in memory of her wonderful Bosnian street dog, Chloe. Gender:  Female DOB: Approx. 12/1/2023 Current size; 21 pounds PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Please see our adoption guidelines at  https://spcanova.org/about-us/adoption-policies/. March 12, 2026, 4:34 pm
