Story
This stunning 3 year old, 50 pound Border Collie girl is called Evee and she is looking for a home where she can be herself.  This girl needs an active person or family or couple to take her on hikes, jogs, walks and just a lifestyle filled with experiences that are stimulating and challenging mentally.  Border Collies are so very smart and it is not good for them to be bored or ignored.  We are looking for a situation with perhaps older children, empty nesting couple that wants a strong minded and loving dog that will be devoted to them.  Evee would like to be the only dog in the home.  She is housebroken, crate trained and needsto be out and about experiencing new things in her life, so that she is less nervous meeting new people and going places. She has led a very limited life so far and we want to see her have more FUN!  She is a beauty that is striking with her shiny black coat with snow while accents.  She is the definition of 'Black and White' coloring.  It would be ideal for her to be in a home with a secure, fenced yard.  If you are interested in our girl Evee please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   She is ready for a happier new chapter in her life. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 8, 2023, 9:38 am

Story
SMILING VINNY, is a stunning 5 year old Border Collie, who lost his home and found himself up at a kill shelter.  His critically ill owner had to admit he would never be able to care for his two dogs again and now Critter Cavalry Rescue has stepped in to help them find homes and forever love. Vinnie is a solid 53 pound boy who is shy when you first meet him, but quickly warms up.  Vinny is extremely intelligent, and would graduate with honors from any dog training classes if enrolled. Like most Border Collies,  Vinny is very alert, loves his daily brisk walks and enjoys play time. His eyes light up when you toss a ball. He thinks he is a player in the major leagues.  Fully aware of good dog manners, he is a great house guest and gets along well with the other foster dogs in his home. Although a herding dog by nature, he has adapted well to living in a home.  So for the active family, those who like to run or jog, Vinny would make a great partner.  He’s fully vetted, UTD on shots, microchipped and on heartworm prevention.  If you are interested in adopting, please write to ccrnewengland@gmail.com. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.December 8, 2023, 9:38 am

Story
Hey there, I'm Pelican, and while I may be a dog, my dreams take flight! I'm a spirited and cheerful fellow, always ready for some fun and games. Among all the activities, soccer is my absolute favorite, and I can't resist a thrilling match with my volunteer friends at FOHA. I've had a taste of home life before, where I shared the space with another dog. Things started off well, but I quickly realized that I might be at my best as the only four-legged companion in the house. Don't get me wrong, I do get along with other dogs and would love to have doggie pals to spend time with! But, if you're looking for an only-dog scenario, count me in! I'm a people-loving pup and have the boundless energy that's typical of a border collie mix. Bonus: I'm super soft to the touch, making cuddle time even better. If you're considering bringing me into your life, I have a special request. I'd thrive in a home with a very experienced owner who's up for working with me on a few behavioral challenges. I'm eager to shower you with love and am more than willing to learn and grow. So, what do you say? Will you be the one to come and meet me and embark on this incredible journey together? I'm waiting to spread my wings and soar with you!

Story
Nelson here! My new adoptive family will need to be ready to provide a lot of training which my friends at FOHA will help to coordinate at time of adoption. I can be unpredictable so I am looking for a family with no kids 15 and under. Look deep into my different colored eyes - then get me a ball! I LOVE to play fetch! The second I see a ball or hear you say the word, I'm ready to play. I know how to fetch and I'll bring the ball right back to you and drop it at your feet. I also love water and getting sprayed with a hose! I've been lucky to join doggy social here at FOHA and I have enjoyed playing with other dogs. I love going for walks as I get to know the volunteers and they get to know me. As much as I like new dogs I am not comfortable around a lot of new people. So I would not do well in a dog park or doggie daycare. I'll go ahead and say it, I'm extremely smart. I'm looking for an active family that will put my intelligence to good use. I would love to have a huge fenced in backyard to chase my ball until my heart is content. Apartments and condos will not be a good fit for me. If you would like to come meet me, submit an application and we can set up a time to get to know each other. See you soon!! I am looking for a home with no kids, no cats, house with a large backyard, and an experienced owner willing to work on training. Story
Meet Rizzo! Rizzo is about 13 weeks old (November 2023). Rizzo lived outdoors with his mom, who was roaming the area. Mom looks like a smooth coated border collie, pit mix and dad was the neighbors border collie mix. Rizzo likes to do things in “Rizzo time”. He is the most laid-back in the group. He understands the importance of stopping to smell the roses. He understands that sometimes you just need to take in the world and enjoy the small moments. So, if you’re of like mind or know you need to slow down a bit, Rizzo may be just the guy you’ve been looking for. He’s often the last in the group to come in from outside-choosing to enjoy the sunshine, lie in the leaves, or enjoy chewing on a good stick. Rizzo is such a sweet boy. He loves other dogs but feels more comfortable with calmer dogs as big, in-your-face dogs can be a bit overwhelming when you’re a small puppy. Rizzo adores his foster siblings. What we do know is there is something very special about this sweet, wise, old soul. He has a beautiful way of looking at the world and he would love to share it with you! PLEASE NOTE: You must have a dedicated private space for potty and outdoor exploration. Puppies often need additional immunizations before they are allowed to walk in public spaces. Unless an existing good vet record exists, we will not adopt to anyone further than 1 hour drive from listed location. We need to be in close proximity to adopters when we need to follow up on vaccinations and spay/neuter. Pup cannot be left alone for more than "3" hours at a time. This is necessary for comfort breaks and much needed socialization for a pup this age. If interested in adopting please fill out our no obligation online application at www.puppypawsrescue.org Note: Our rescue requires that all adopter's current and prior animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (DHLPP & Rabies) and preventatives (heartworm and flea and tick), unless there is a medical reason not allowing it. All animals in your household should be spayed or neutered unless medically indicated that they should not be or are currently still too young.

Meet Caramel! Caramel is about 13 weeks old (November 2023). Caramel lived outdoors with his mom, who was roaming the area. Mom looks like a smooth coated border collie, pit mix and dad was the neighbors border collie mix. He will be a wonderful addition to the right family! Caramel, or Mel, as his friends call him, is sunshine on a leash! He is the happiest boy around! He is the Indiana Jones of the group-always ready to explore and go off on an adventure. You never know what might be out there to sniff and Caramel is the one ready to go find out! Caramel is looking to be your trusty sidekick as he’s not one to explore alone. He’d so much rather do that with you! He is absolutely loyal and true! Because he is so devoted to his people, Caramel is looking for a home where he is not alone for long stretches at a time. He is working on crate training and is not the biggest fan because he’d rather be out exploring with his bestie or cuddling on the couch. He will need a family committed to helping him see the crate is a nice, safe space. Caramel is a super snuggly guy. He rolls over for belly rubs and will love his people unconditionally. He is great with other dogs too! He will be a wonderful addition to the right family! PLEASE NOTE: You must have a dedicated private space for potty and outdoor exploration.
