He knows his basic commands, leads well, loads up, and rides happily in the front or back of the vehicle. Bandit was surrendered through no fault of his own and is ready for a quieter chapter. He loves water, enjoys a good game of fetch, and has been good with kids and older folks. After a lifetime of being a good companion, Bandit is ready to enjoy the easy life. ---------------- Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. Hutch is gorgeous and loyal 7 month old male Blue Heeler mix that we rescued from a farm outside of Detroit. He is completely house-trained. He loves playing with toys, balls, sticks, and loves running and going on walks. He absolutely loves the local dog parks. Our family loves this adorable boy but, sadly, he is not a good fit in our household as he is too reactive with kids. Out of the abundance of safety, we can no longer keep him. With determination and extensive training, I bet he will make a good family dog but at this time will only entertain applications from experienced adopters preferably with history of owning herding dogs and without any children.

He is famous for his hugs and will spend his time trying to wrap his paws around you if he isn't already trying to curl up in your lap. He is the perfect blend of a lounge partner and a playmate. Because of his cautious temperament, Jayce has some specific needs to help him feel safe and successful: No Other Dogs: He prefers being the "only child" and can be reactive toward strange dogs. Quiet Environment: He would not enjoy the high-stress environment of a dog park. Patient Humans: He needs an owner who understands he needs to approach new things at his own pace. No Strangers (at first): He can be vocal with people he doesn't know, but his loyalty to his inner circle is unmatched. If you have the patience to let him blossom, you will be rewarded with a level of love and loyalty that only a dog like Jayce can give. He is ready to be your most devoted friend. Jayce's adoption fee is $325 to offset the cost of vetting and help other rescues in need. He is currently located in Georgia and can be transported up to 1400 miles via our Canine Railroad.
