Story
This cute young man was thrown out at one of the favorite dumping areas to survive on his own. There are a few dogs there that people have been trying to catch but since he was new, he was easy. He has not learned how mean people can be yet. Santa is as sweet as can be and very well behaved. We took him to the vets and he is HW negative and is now neutered and UTD on vaccines. We will also microchip him. He is fine with other dogs and all people. He seems to be housetrained, as well. We are only guessing but he looks and sounds very much like border collie/basset hound and in that part of the mountain, it is likely. If you would like to add this sweet guy to your family and be his hero, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com and we will send our info and application.

Story
Abner came to us after being given away on social media at just 4 weeks old. He is now a year old and ready to find a forever home. He is about 45 lbs and growing. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, preventions and chipped. He is a fun pup who loves to play with his foster friends and toys. He would be a great addition to any family either with another dog already or a one dog family. Are you someone looking for an activity partner, Abner can be that dog! Abner is located in middle TN, but not to worry his transport is included in the adoption fee with Rescue Riders Transport to one of their delivery locations. We are happy to set up a virtual meet and greet with any approved application.

Story
This beautiful girl was dumped off in the country where she stayed waiting for her owner to come back for a week. Most times she laid in the road and people had to drive around her. After a week someone called us and we went to get her. She is not only beautiful, but she is also smart and sweet. Unfortunately, she tested positive for heartworms when we took her to the vet. That was four months ago. She has now been fully treated and is ready to live a long, happy, healthy life with her new family. Irelyn is spayed and UTD on all vaccines. She loves walks, is good in the car and is housetrained. She is a dominant female so a home with easy going males would be fine. She loves to be brushed and enjoys zoomies around the yard. If you would like to add the special girl to your forever family, please contact dogs4mylife@gmail.com or omlc7@hotmail.com and we will send our info, application and additional pics.

Story
Hi, my name is Sizzle! I`m a 1 year old Border Collie mix. I was originally found as a stray with a cone on my head. At a closer look, the officer who picked me up discovered I was covered in fleas! Thankfully, I recieved treatment right away and my cone went into the trash! My parents never came to claim me, which that`s ok because I don`t want to be covered in fleas, again. I`m an energetic and playful dog who loves to engage in activities. However, I may initially be shy due to my earlier experiences as a stray. Once I warm up to you, I will undoubtedly become a loyal and loving companion.Playing with tennis balls is something I thoroughly enjoys. It keeps me active and entertained. Regular exercise and mental stimulation will be crucial in keeping myself intelligent and happy.I will thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard. This will not only allow me to burn off energy but also gives me the space to play freely. Additionally, living in a calm and quiet environment without children would be best for me, as I can be vulnerable and insecure.I do not mind other dogs and can potentially be a good companion to an existing dog in the household. Proper introductions and gradual socialization are necessary to ensure a positive and harmonious relationship. My past experiences have left me feeling insecure. It will be important for my new family to provide patience, love, and a sense of security. A calm and consistent routine, along with positive reinforcement training, will help boost my confidence and help me overcome any anxieties.Overall, I am energetic and a playful dog who is in need of a loving and understanding forever home. With the right care and support, I will blossom into an amazing companion who will bring joy and happiness to your life.I`m available as a foster to adopt as I`m just waiting to be spayed. My adoption fee is $50 during Bissell`s Empty The Shelters Event Decemeber 1st thru December 17th, 2023.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm. To help speed up the application process, it is recommended that you complete the online application form found at the link below.https://animalcontrol.macombgov.org/AnimalControl-AdoptionApplicationPlease join us for the Bissell Empty the Shelters Adoption Event from 12/1 - 12/17. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Story
This adorable little Nugget was purchased from a breeder by a young man that became homeless two weeks after getting him. The poor little guy was living is a tiny, dirty pen in the back yard of his dads home. We happened to see him and after a few days we went and knocked on the door offering to rehome the sweet and lonely baby. He has now had two sets of shots and is neutered and microchipped. Nugget weighed 6 lbs when we got him and he now weighs 12. He will probably be between 25 and 30 lbs when fully grown. Nugget is sweet and playful but he thinks he is delicate so no rough young children or dogs. But if everyone is gentle, he is a lover of all. If you would like to add this cutie to your forever family, please email omlc7@hotmail.com of dogs4mylife@gmail.com and we will send our info and application.

Story
Smokey is a 1 year old neutered, up to date on shots, male blue heeler, around 45lbs, he’s good with kids and other dogs, he’s not mean or aggressive with cats he just hasn’t been around many. He needs a home with someone that’s willing to take the time and train him, he’s currently living in a pen and has so much built up energy, so when anyone goes in to feed him he jumps on them. He just wants a family to call his own and throw his ball for him and let him be part of a family, in the house with them. He’s very sweet and loving and very very smart , which without a active family to help entertain him, can get him in trouble, he’s all puppy and playfulness. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport
