Story
Hi, my name is Claire and I am a senior Border Collie. I used to live on a farm with other dogs and animals but my owner passed away. I am now in foster care with S.A.F.E. Animal Haven. I met my BFF here at my foster home and would really like a forever home for the 2 of us! My BFF is Pointer and he is on this website too! I am housebroken, leash trained and generally a good girl. I like to do my own thing and I enjoy playing with Pointer. If you have room for 2, please consider giving Pointer and myself a forever home. You can find an application at safeanimalhaven.org. Pointer is the little one in the picture with me - he has spots.September 11, 2024, 7:31 pm

Story
Meet Magnolia, her foster family affectionately calls her “Nolie.” This is one beautiful and loving girl. The vet thinks she is young at just about a year old. She weighs about 33lbs they don’t think she will get much bigger. She is a wonderful mix of amazing breeds with a DNA test to prove it. It turns out this gal is about a third Border Collie, a third Pit Bull Terrier mix, 13% Labrador Retriever, and 7% Weimaraner. Her foster family believes she has the best qualities of each breed; incredibly smart, loving and eager to please. She knows sit, down, off and is treat- motivated to make you happy. She is incredibly responsive to praise and commands, she is ready to learn new tricks. She plays fetch and loves to go on walks so a family who has time to romp a little in the yard and walk her to get her sniffs in is ideal. She is great on the leash and does not pull when she sees a squirrel. She actually prefers to stop in her tracks and stare at the squirrels. Everyone one she meets on her walks is quite impressed with her beauty. She is house trained and crate trained. Magnolia loves to sit outside and bask in the sun so a home with a fenced yard for her to play and explore is best. She is a top notch napper and snuggler and sliding up next to you on a sofa is her happy place. but also loves to nap quietly on her bed. Sitting in a chair and want company? This gal literally slithers in your lap and wraps her neck around yours for a hug. She loves kisses on the head, neck scratches and belly rubs. There are no small children in her foster home, but she has been a polite and friendly girl with the neighbors‘ children. She loves to play with her canine foster siblings and learns quickly when they want a break. She is looking for a family that has some time to play, walk and snuggle. If you are looking for a special, smart, affectionate, people pleasing little beauty, Magnolia is your girl. If you are interested in adopting Magnolia please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet’s age.   ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt.***  September 17, 2024, 8:56 pm

Story
Hey, everyone! Meet Peter Pan, the coolest pup around! This guy has been on quite the journey, starting off in a shelter and ending up as teachers pet in his training! Peter Pan might come off a bit tough at first, but once you get to know him, he's all about the love and cuddles. He's even got the commands down pat: sit, stay, come, and leash walking – he's a pro! If you're an adventure seeker, Peter Pan is your perfect match! He's always up for exploring new places, so a fenced yard is a must-have for this adventurous boy. Are you the type of person who likes building your bond through training and games? This boy is obsessed with balls! Did we mention Peter Pan's training comes with touchup training? His trainer is eager to see both of you to help you continue Peter's ongoing journey! Looking for a furry friend who's great with other pups? Peter Pan is your guy! But kiddos under 16 might not be his jam, so a home with older kids is ideal. As for cats, well, let's just say Peter Pan's curiosity might get the best of him, so a cat-free zone is probably best. Sound like the perfect match for you? Head over to lastdaydogs.com to fill out an application and make Peter Pan a part of your happily ever after! #RescueDog #AdoptDontShopSeptember 10, 2024, 10:16 am

Story
Friendly Finn is a lucky dog.  You know one of those who was in a really bad shelter that was run by lazy people who didn’t care if any of the dogs got out alive.  He is a handsome and very friendly Border Collie/Pointer mix that is truly a good looking dog who is about 3 years old, fully vetted, 35 pounds and was at the shelter for 2 years.  TRUTH!   How awful that this beautiful soul was there in that dirty place and in the tiny kennel run with another dog. He wasn’t fed much and he is lucky to have survived the torture of that specific shelter.   Friendly is a good word for Finn since he is good with other dogs and kids unknown.  He is surprisingly very good on a leash, but his nerves can get the best of him when riding in a car.  He might need a little medication till he gets used to riding.  Finn needs a big yard or maybe daily trips to a dog park.  We want him to live a life that is not limited as he has experienced these past 2+ years in the shelter.  If you are interested in Fostering or Adopting Finn please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.September 16, 2024, 9:40 pm
