Story
Hi, my name is Claire and I am a senior Border Collie. I used to live on a farm with other dogs and animals but my owner passed away. I am now in foster care with S.A.F.E. Animal Haven. I met my BFF here at my foster home and would really like a forever home for the 2 of us! My BFF is Pointer and he is on this website too! I am housebroken, leash trained and generally a good girl. I like to do my own thing and I enjoy playing with Pointer. If you have room for 2, please consider giving Pointer and myself a forever home. You can find an application at safeanimalhaven.org. Pointer is the little one in the picture with me - he has spots.July 14, 2024, 12:16 am

Hey, everyone! Meet Peter Pan, the coolest pup around! This guy has been on quite the journey, starting off in a shelter and ending up as teachers pet in his training! Peter Pan might come off a bit tough at first, but once you get to know him, he's all about the love and cuddles. He's even got the commands down pat: sit, stay, come, and leash walking – he's a pro! If you're an adventure seeker, Peter Pan is your perfect match! He's always up for exploring new places, so a fenced yard is a must-have for this adventurous boy. Are you the type of person who likes building your bond through training and games? This boy is obsessed with balls! Did we mention Peter Pan's training comes with touchup training? His trainer is eager to see both of you to help you continue Peter's ongoing journey! Looking for a furry friend who's great with other pups? Peter Pan is your guy! But kiddos under 16 might not be his jam, so a home with older kids is ideal. As for cats, well, let's just say Peter Pan's curiosity might get the best of him, so a cat-free zone is probably best. Sound like the perfect match for you? Head over to lastdaydogs.com to fill out an application and make Peter Pan a part of your happily ever after! #RescueDog #AdoptDontShopJuly 14, 2024, 6:06 pm

Story
Friendly Finn is a lucky dog.  You know one of those who was in a really bad shelter that was run by lazy people who didn’t care if any of the dogs got out alive.  He is a handsome and very friendly Border Collie/Pointer mix that is truly a good looking dog who is about 3 years old, fully vetted, 35 pounds and was at the shelter for 2 years.  TRUTH!   How awful that this beautiful soul was there in that dirty place and in the tiny kennel run with another dog. He wasn’t fed much and he is lucky to have survived the torture of that specific shelter.   Friendly is a good word for Finn since he is good with other dogs and kids unknown.  He is surprisingly very good on a leash, but his nerves can get the best of him when riding in a car.  He might need a little medication till he gets used to riding.  Finn needs a big yard or maybe daily trips to a dog park.  We want him to live a life that is not limited as he has experienced these past 2+ years in the shelter.  If you are interested in Fostering or Adopting Finn please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.July 14, 2024, 9:01 pm

Story
My name is Lolly and I am a very young 1-year-old border collie girl that was adopted as a puppy and had great hopes of spending the rest of my life with my family in kentucky. They have now decided that with their move they are going to leave me behind and Critter Calvary said let us have Lolly. I was so lucky and I'm  excited that they are going to look for the perfect home for me and that understands the needs of my breed, which is active, smart and intensely fun. I weigh about 45 lbs and Critter Cavalry is going to spay me and get me updated on all my shots, heartworm test and microchip me. I guess it's really going to be for the better that I go with someone that takes good care of me. I have lots of energy and I would love to be with an active family, person, or couple that will run with me and teach me things and maybe even put me through some agility classes where we can have fun together. I am housebroken and I am excited to meet new dogs and new people. I think Critter Cavalry is going to test me with cats. If you are interested in becoming my new family and understand my special breed traits and what I need.....like a fenced in yard, please write to Critter Cavalry rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com right now!       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 14, 2024, 9:01 pm

Story
Please contact foster at amykdong@gmail.comSweet Miss Laila is a bundle of sweetness. This sweet pup has endured trauma, but it doesn’t stop her from being the biggest love bug! According to a concerned citizen, Laila’s owner fell ill and Laila escaped through an open gate. She was found a stray on the streets of Charlotte. While fending for herself, she became pregnant on the streets. She was almost full term when she was spayed and her babies terminated. After her surgery, Laila experienced a seizure in her kennel. She was found unresponsive on the cold, hard kennel floor. She came to and seemed fine. Laila was soon taken into foster care. Her first foster only had her for a short time, but it was there that she bonded with a stuffed squirrel. Laila took that squirrel everywhere and groomed it like the puppies she had lost. Soon after, she was moved to a second foster. After a month, she was unable to stay in that home. I am her third foster. Sweet Laila has blossomed in our home. She is perfectly house trained, can be left out (no crate needed!), loves kids, dog friendly, and literally the best snuggle bug ever. Laila loves to be around her person. She will sleep on the bed with you or in a dog bed next to your bed. She will patiently wait for you while you are out and about and is always excited to see you when you come home! She now has a Baby Dino that she grooms and takes everywhere. She is a true mama pup at heart. Laila would love a furever home. She is the sweetest pup who truly just wants to be loved. Miss Laila is also a girls’ girl and would prefer to be adopted by a female or a family. •House trained•Can be left out at home alone•Dog Friendly•Kid friendly•Loves her walks•Walks well on leash•Likes to chase chipmunks, squirrels and bunnies•Best Snuggler•4 yo•45 lbs

Story
“You can’t resist reading Pointer’s profile  because he is so darn cute, but Pointer isn’t for everyone. Pointer is a Blue Heeler mix, weighing in at less than 30 lbs. Just like bigger herding dogs, Pointer likes to chase, herd, nip heels and is very strong-willed. Pointer needs lots of exercise and must have mental stimulation throughout the day. He enjoys learning commands and working on his obedience commands and would make an excellent agility, nose work, scent work or other sport participant. Pointer is not a couch potato and when left to entertain himself, he can get into trouble. Pointer needs a person who is experienced with herding breeds or dogs who are competitive in sports and are not put off by his strong personality.  With the right person, Pointer can be the ultimate friend!  I would not be a candidate for an apartment, condo/townhome or a home without a fence. If interested in giving me a forever home please complete an application at www.safeanimalhaven.com Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler Characteristics Standing between 17 to 20 inches at the shoulder, the Australian Cattle Dog is a sturdy, hard-muscled herder of strength and agility. The ACD is born with a white coat that turns blue-gray or red. Both coat varieties feature distinctive mottling or specking patterns. ACDs have immense work drive and excel at hunting, chasing, and, of course, moving livestock. Their boundless energy and supple gait make them excellent running partners.ACDs are true-blue loyal, famously smart, ever alert, and wary of strangers. If an ACD isn’t challenged, he easily becomes bored and gets into mischief. It is recommended that ACD owners participate with their dog in some work, sport, or regular exercise to keep him mentally and physically fit.July 14, 2024, 12:16 am
