Story
Zeb is another brave shelter dog with a sad story. At age 3 he was rescued from a very "high kill" facility. He was brought to Michigan and adopted to a wonderful home about 6 years ago... until his person became gravely ill and was hospitalized. Putting Zeb first, his owner asked our officers to find a good home for their beloved dog. Zeb is a herding breed dog and definitely lives up to his ancestry! He likes long walks a lot, but his real love is in doing his job. He adores yard play (with his people) where he is allowed to "herd". He will find toys and push them all to one spot, then proceed to herd them. He would likely try to herd other animals and small children too. :) Zebadiah is now about 9 years old. He is housetrained and finds it upsetting if he is not taken out to use the bathroom. The shelter volunteers make sure all housetrained dogs go out first in the morning and evening. Zeb is a larger breed and weighs around 70 pounds. He would thrive in a home with a constant (human) companion. He isn't a fan of being crated, and will sometimes howl a lament if left alone too long. Zeb is neutered, heartworm negative (and on prevention) and updated on vaccinations. If you think you might be the right home for Zeb, online applications can be found on our website at wacshelter.com. Email us at wacvolunteers@gmail.com with any questions!

Story
Smokey is a 1 year old neutered, up to date on shots, male blue heeler, around 45lbs, he’s good with kids and other dogs, he’s not mean or aggressive with cats he just hasn’t been around many. He needs a home with someone that’s willing to take the time and train him, he’s currently living in a pen and has so much built up energy, so when anyone goes in to feed him he jumps on them. He just wants a family to call his own and throw his ball for him and let him be part of a family, in the house with them. He’s very sweet and loving and very very smart , which without a active family to help entertain him, can get him in trouble, he’s all puppy and playfulness. Story
This guy has had a tough row to hoe. People have let him down but a lovely rescuer reached out and got him and now he is READY! Six months ago, someone posted him on fb saying he showed up at their apartment in a small town and they could not keep him. About a week later he mysteriously shows up about 20 miles away and another house. We firmly believe that the first people drove him out to the country and dumped him. The second home reached out to Tails of the South Rescue and they jumped right in. He has been neutered, brought up to date on all his shots and treated for heartworm. He is now a healthy dog and ready to come to his new family. Foster says he is a PERFECT boy! She has had him about 5 months, and he's lived inside with ALL the dogs and cats. He loves to play and snuggle, put his head on your chest and give kisses. He runs the farm and doesn't bother anything! He has never been around toddlers but adores kids 6 and up. ❤️🐾🐾❤️. He is in Tennessee right now but will be transported to you using the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
This story is from Kevins rescuer, the police officer. We got a call about a puppy being tied on a vacant properties porch and possibly someone trespassing on the property. Once I arrived on the property, no one could be located, but the puppy was tied to a porch railing and left with no food or water. I contacted John with Baker Bridge Rescue who agreed to help me, of which I was very grateful. I then secured the pup shortly after. A couple folks floating on the river were very relieved to see the dog being taken care of!. Since getting Kevin home with us, he has gained weight and found that people can be good. He is learning potty training and playing with the other dogs. He loves playing with toys. If you are interested in learning more about Kevin (puppy), please email BakerBridgeRescue@aol.com and ask for an application. Once we review it, we will call you. We transport every other week to a location near you with the most animal friendly transport - Rescue Riders Transport.

Story
Meet Sally. She is almost 1 years old. The size she is now will be her forever size. She won’t get too much bigger. She is such a sweet heart. Gets along with other pets, but would prefer to be the star of the show. She does get jealous if attention isn’t on her at all times. Currently on dry food. Sally must have some sort of chew toy at her disposal. She is still a puppy but if things are left on the ground there is a 99.9% chance she will claim it as her own. She loves being on my lap! She is such a sweetie but definitely needs a home that is patient and ready to train her to be the best she can be for her breed! A friend of mine recently moved and this is how I ended up with her. I have 2 other dogs and a cat and can’t take on another one! I would work with her if I wasn’t committed to my other 3 while working full time!

These pups are in Windsor, Ontario too!
