Story
Meet Chunk: Chunk is about a 14 month old (as of July 2026) border collie / lab mix (best guess) that weighs about 60 pounds. Chunk was born in a shelter on May 1, 2025. His mommy and siblings had all been adopted and found their homes and he was left behind. For one year he lived in the shelter not knowing any other life. Chunk went to many adoption events where everyone loved him but no commitments were made. Due to shelter stay length without interest, he found his name on the euthanasia list! The shelter director reached out to our rescue to see if we could help this sweet guy out. We are thankful we had a spot for him and can give him the chance at the life he deserves! Chunk is now being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Chunk is a total sweetheart! He is great with all people, including children. Chunk loves attention, playing with his toys, and having snacks! Chunk could spend his days rolling in the grass and hanging out with friends and be the happiest guy around! Chunk is great with other dogs and has done well with cats, too! Chunk is house trained and crate trained and walks well on a leash. We would love for Chunk to have a home with a fenced in yard so he can roam, run, roll and play freely until his hearts content. Chunk is up to date on his shots and neutered. Chunk is such a great package and ready to be your new best friend forever! Story
Hello world! My name is Charlie and I`m on the hunt for my `furever` home! I came to the shelter when my last family thought it was best to find me a home where I could thrive to my fullest potential! I came all the way from Puerto Rico so you can consider me an adventurer, who especially loves long walks and hikes with my favorite humans. I also enjoy the company of other dogs as long as they aren`t too rough with me! I am an all-star pup who knows some basic commands and I`m house broken and crate trained! I do ask any kiddos in the home to be 5 and older, who can give me space and won`t touch my paws, so no in-home `pawdicures` for me! I`m not sure how I feel about cats, but with my breed we are known to have high prey drives, so with a dog savvy cat, I may be able to coexist with one! Do I sound like the perfect addition to your family? If so, come by the shelter and meet me today!---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Meet Bubbles: Bubbles is about a 14 week old (as of September 6, 2026) Australian shepherd / lab mix (best guess) that weighs about 15 pounds. This adorable litter of 8 puppies (Dawn, Tide, Ajax, Roxie, Percy, Bubbles, Comet and Ivory) was dumped behind the Blytheville, AR city shelter in a laundry basket.  They were very dehydrated when the shelter staff found them from being left directly in the sun. The shelter reached out to us and we were able to find a place to house them outside of shelter life. Bubbles is now being fostered in the Willow Street, PA area and would love to meet her forever family! Bubbles and her littermates are all very playful and friendly. Bubbles is an adorable little bundle that we expect to be a medium sized dog! Bubbles gets along well with other dogs. As a puppy, Bubbles will need some patience while she works on her house training, but she is off to a great start! Bubbles is crate trained and learning to walk well on the leash. We would love for Bubbles to have a home with a fenced in yard for her to run and play freely as she grows. Bubbles is getting up to date on her puppy shots and will need to be spayed when age appropriate. If you are interested in giving this cutie lots of love and a great life, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. Story
Meet Cary: Cary is about a 1 year old (as of May 2026) Kelpie / Jack Russel / Cur mix (best guess?) that weighs about 37 pounds. Cary was at a shelter in Tennessee and not getting any interest so he was marked to euthanize to make room for more. Fortunately we heard about the situation and had a foster find a spot for him. Cary is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Cary is incredibly friendly with both people and dogs. Cary is a bundle of energy as well as a playful puppy. Cary is just the right size and temperament for being a lap buddy or bed buddy as well as a buddy for taking for long walks. Cary is currently house trained to a doggie door and may need patience while learning a new routine. We would love for Cary to have a home with a fenced in yard so he can run and play freely. Cary is up to date on his shots and is neutered. If you are interested in giving this young cutie a great life, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. She is an adorable little bundle that we expect to be a medium sized dog. Roxie is very playful and confident.
