Story
Meet Jasper:  Jasper is estimated to be about five years old (as of February 2026) Border Collie Mix (best guess) that weighs 45 pounds. Jasper entered our rescue when a man called us to see if we could help a dog . Jasper had been living on the streets of Memphis, most of his life and befriended this older gentleman who always fed and watered him twice a day. The man called us when Jasper appeared to have been hit by a car, had trouble walking and needed help. Jasper is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Jasper is a very friendly guy who is crate trained, house trained and walks on the leash very well. He loves lots of affection and to be petted and loved on. Jasper is good with people, dogs and cats. Jasper loves to go for walks and to play with his toys. We would love for Jasper to have a home with a fenced in yard so he can play freely. Jasper is up-to-date on all of his shots and neutered. Jasper is currently going through heartworm treatment after successful FHO Surgery to repair his hip. If you are interested in giving this handsome guy a great home please go to Charlie's Crusaders website (www.Charliescrusaders.org) to fill out our application ##2714489##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Image growing up in a yard with a human throwing you food over a fence and pouring water in your already dirty water day after day.  The human never touched you or the other three dogs in the yard and you lived outside like this summer, winter spring and fall until finally 8 years into your life someone reported your owner to the authorities and they finally came to save you!  You found yourself placed in a box separate from the only friends you had ever known.  Taken to a noisy shelter, poked, probed, bathed and then stuck in a kennel alone.  WOW SCARY right???  Well that was the experience for Max's, his best friend Moose and his 2 other fur buddies.  Unfortunately the oldest of the 4 was quite ill and passed away :(   The other one was adopted and seems to be doing well.  Max's was very shut down until the shelter staff placed him with Moose and then they saw Max's come back to life!   We couldn't allow Max's to lose the only friend he has ever had on this earth so we are taking both boys and they will only be adopted as a bonded pair with a contract signed that they will NOT be separated!! Max's & Moose will have to learn to live in a home, walk on a leash and understand what it is like to be valued and actually LOVED by a human.  If you would like to be considered for the boys please fill out an adoption application.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
Current Location: Littlestown, PA Hello! My name is Melvin! I'm coming to OPH on 4/10. Please check back soon for updates on my personality, and to see adorable new photos. I'm searching for... * someone who won't leave me home alone for more than 4 hrs, at least not until I am older. The older I am the more I can stay home alone. I just don't want you to get mad at me if I have accidents or chew things I'm not supposed to when you leave me for too long. I'm a puppy, so I get bored quick and when I'm bored I could get in trouble. * I am looking for my forever home, not my for right now home. So as I get bigger I need someone to teach me how to be the best dog I can be. I am young and still learning. You may want to teach me some new tricks like sit, stay, etc. Professional training will help me bond with you. That sounds like fun! * I saved the most important for last. I am hoping my new mom or dad will snuggle with me, play with me and love me forever and ever! I'm making my way north in search of my new family. Is that with you? If so apply today because this cuteness won’t be around for long!

Story
Bailey is a loving and energetic dog who is looking for a new home! She is an extremely smart and playful dog who love cuddles, fetch, and treats of any sort.. Bailey is very energetic (border collie mix) and loves to be active. She loves playing tug-of-war and brain games but her absolute favorite activity is fetch with tennis balls. She is great off-leash and so we often go to parks where she runs around off-leash chasing tennis balls and rolling in the grass. A typical day for Bailey begins with an excursion to the park where she can play fetch and run around in the grass before coming home to have breakfast. If you are working from home on a particular day she may get a midday walk to stretch her legs and use the bathroom. She gets an evening walk around the city where she can get some more exercise in and some mental stimulation. Finally, before bed she goes outside briefly one last time before going to sleep. Bailey`s ideal home would involve new loving parents that have access to a good size yard or take the time to take her to parks/hiking. Being a border collie she is not suited for first-time dog owners or those without the capacity to fulfill her physical and mental needs. That being said, active households who like being outside and have the time to play games with her even inside are the best situations for her. t and they . She can get a little reactive and overwhelmed with high-energy dogs that don`t respect her space at first. Bailey is house-trained and knows many commands. T

Story
Meet Odin: Odin is an 11 week old (as of April 14, 2026) Australian shepherd / Pyrenees mix (best guess) that weighs 15 pounds. Odin was being given away for free with his brother, Atlas, on Facebook. Luckily a rescuer saw this and was able to get them before they ended up in a potentially bad situation. These pups will now have a bright future that will include proper vet care and love. Odin is now being fostered in the south and would love to catch the freedom ride north arriving May 2nd in Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families! Odin is such a cute, little, ball of fluff-puppy! Odin loves water and is very sweet and friendly. As a puppy, Odin will need some patience while he works on his house training. We would love for Odin to have a home with a fenced in yard for her to run and play freely as he grows. Odin is getting up to date on his puppy shots and will need to be neutered when age appropriate. Story
Meet Rascal:  Rascal is a 4 year old Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix that weighs around 41 pounds.  Rascal was rescued from a high kill shelter a day before she was to be euthanized.  Rascal loves attention and is very sweet.  Rascal can be dog selective but has no reaction to cats. We recommend older children because Rascal is energetic and sometimes jumps on you. Overall Rascal is a nice girl...just needs some work and stability. Rascal is house and crate trained but needs some work on her leash walking. Rascal will need a fenced in yard where she can run and a family that is very active and experienced. Rascal will make a great dog in the right home. Rascal is up to date on all her shots and spayed. If you were interested in adopting this sweet girl, please go to our website at charliescrusaders.org and fill out our adoption application.
