We welcomed Coco in April 2024. She is an exceptionally smart, friendly Border Collie who loves neighborhood kids and respects yard boundaries. I hoped she’d grow up with my kids, but I underestimated the work of raising a baby and a toddler alongside a high-energy breed. Coco is very anxious and skittish; loud play makes her nervous, causing her to bark to stop us, and I struggle to balance family fun with her needs.Recently, her medical needs have added to the challenge. She started having seizures this August (about weekly). After multiple seizures yesterday, she went to the Pet ER, received midazolam and phenobarbital injections, and responded well. She now requires a strict anti-seizure medication schedule every 12 hours.Because of her anxiety, skittishness, and new medical needs, she requires an owner with immense patience and time. I am unable to provide what is best for her and hope to find someone with a tender heart to give her the care she deserves.

Meet Chunk: Chunk is about a 17 month old (as of October 2026) border collie / lab mix (best guess) that weighs about 60 pounds. Chunk was born in a shelter on May 1, 2025. His mommy and siblings had all been adopted and found their homes and he was left behind. For one year he lived in the shelter not knowing any other life. Chunk went to many adoption events where everyone loved him but no commitments were made. Due to shelter stay length without interest, he found his name on the euthanasia list! The shelter director reached out to our rescue to see if we could help this sweet guy out. We are thankful we had a spot for him and can give him the chance at the life he deserves! Chunk is now being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Chunk is a total sweetheart! He is great with all people, including children. Chunk loves attention, playing with his toys, and having snacks! Chunk could spend his days rolling in the grass and hanging out with friends and be the happiest guy around! Chunk is great with other dogs and has done well with cats, too! Chunk is house trained and crate trained and walks well on a leash. We would love for Chunk to have a home with a fenced in yard so he can roam, run, roll and play freely until his hearts content. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! The human never touched you or the other three dogs in the yard and you lived outside like this summer, winter spring and fall until finally 8 years into your life someone reported your owner to the authorities and they finally came to save you! You found yourself placed in a box separate from the only friends you had ever known. Taken to a noisy shelter, poked, probed, bathed and then stuck in a kennel alone. WOW SCARY right??? Well that was the experience for Max's, his best friend Moose and his 2 other fur buddies. Unfortunately the oldest of the 4 was quite ill and passed away :( The other one was adopted and seems to be doing well. Max's was very shut down until the shelter staff placed him with Moose and then they saw Max's come back to life! We couldn't allow Max's to lose the only friend he has ever had on this earth so we are taking both boys and they will only be adopted as a bonded pair with a contract signed that they will NOT be separated!! Max's & Moose will have to learn to live in a home, walk on a leash and understand what it is like to be valued and actually LOVED by a human.
