Story
Meet Patunia! ******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you area not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Patunia is an spayed, 2.5 year old female Border Collie mix, currently weighing around 68lbs. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX, and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is found. This big sweetie is the ultimate girl’s girl! She’ll be your biggest cheerleader for the wins and the losses, and will always agree that your girl math is 100% correct, especially if it involves some goodies for her too. Patunia is very affectionate and LOVES to snuggle and get kisses from her people! You’ll always find her near by and she is a huge fan of sleeping in your bed. Patunia is very gentle towards children, and enjoys having them as a cuddle/play mate. She is fearful of men, but adores women and children. She can be independent, but prefers her humans close by. Once Patunia forms an attachment to you, she’ll hug your legs and won’t let go. She is very playful and obsessed with all of the toys! She shares well with the resident dogs and humans too. She does prefer to dine solo however, so feeding away from others is recommended. Patunia is high energy, favoring dogs that can keep up with her. She is very friendly towards other dogs, and is excellent on picking up on their cues, especially when a dog isn’t interested in playing. Patunia is cat friendly with slow introductions. She is very curious about the resident kitties, and will follow them around. She may chase them to get them to play, so supervision is recommended. This good girl is very well trained on a leash, walking gently and calmly, and she is house and crate trained. She is only crated when unsupervised or left home alone for her own safety, as she can chew on random items. She has a little separation anxiety, but having another pup around helps her feel safe. Patunia will thrive in a home with a family or a single woman looking for a best friend! She just needs to have a close bond of friendship and love. She would also benefit from having another dog in the house that will play endlessly and help her feel safe. She would love a spacious back yard to help burn off her energy. We can’t wait for Patunia to find someone who will spoil her endlessly, because she deserves that and more! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? Story
Meet CeeDee!  2 year old, Border Collie Husky mix. 54lbs. If those eyes won't melt your heart, his personality sure will! CeeDee is fixed. He has had no accidents in the house. He will whimper when he needs to go potty. He knows sit, paw, and lay down. He is not super energetic but will match a dogs playful energy. He gets along with dogs, cats, and children. But do suggest dogs his size only because he wants to be everyone's friend and doesn't realize his size. He loves tummy rubs! He could use just a little more work on a leash he's 90% almost there. He loves to play tug a war. He will need to be in a crate or have a seat belt when in a car , he has no personal space and just wants to Love you so much! He is good in the crate but putting him in , is a different story. He is learning from his fosters to go in crate himself. He would do best with another dog as he is still learning things. A fenced in yard would be best to since his recall is not the greatest, he does not try to escape but he loves to stay outside, especially when there's snow! Please help CeeDee find his forever home! ##2596248##

Story
Meet Rooney. This handsome black-and-white senior is a 9–10-year-old Border Collie mix who came to us from local animal control. He hasn’t had an easy life, but he has a gentle heart and a real love for adventure. Rooney is a special-needs boy. He has cataracts and is going blind—currently he has roughly 50% vision. We want him to experience and enjoy all the sights he still can, and we’re hoping to place him in a loving home where he can feel safe, comfortable, and cherished for the rest of his life. Rooney is a sweet, loyal guy who enjoys exploring and will make a wonderful walking partner. He thrives on routine, reassurance, and quiet companionship. Because of his limited vision and past experiences, Rooney must be the only pet in the home—no cats, no other dogs—and he is not suitable for a household with children. Despite everything he has been through, this old soul still has so much love left to give. He deserves a calm, patient adopter who will help him navigate his world and give him the kindness and stability he’s always deserved. If you have a soft spot for seniors and want to make a true difference for a dog who needs it most, Rooney would love to meet you.
