Meet Berkley! He’s a 3 year old, 25 pound Boston terrier mix. He likes to be the only pup in the home, so he can get all the belly rubs. Berkley is potty trained, and walks well on the leash. Older kids would be best while he’s settling in to a new home. Berkley is looking for his forever family, and he can’t wait to meet you!Interested in adopting this pet? Story
Get out of the way and make room for Graham.  The most entertaining, 10-pound, vintage American Gentleman you might have the opportunity to meet.  A few weeks ago, social media was all a buzz.  Everyone was advocating to save the senior Boston Terrier that was at the Downey Shelter.  Our Rescue Director rushed to LA to pull the frail old guy and get him vetted and into a foster home.  Well… to all of our amazement – the skinny, 12-year-old BT, the shelter named Graham is full of life, curiosity and agility.  While it is obvious, he needs to gain a few pounds, this guy eats like a champ and has more energy than dogs half his age.  Constantly on the go and hard at work making sure things are as they should be.  Graham is the self-appointed “Supervisor” of everything his foster mom does.  If she opens a closet door, he is going in to make sure everything is organized to his liking.  If you open a cabinet, he is going to scale the shelves to make sure they are up to code.  Do you need help with household chore?   This guy is right there checking out the dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.  He believes in efficiency and getting things done.  His Foster Dad is trying to teach this old dog new tricks.  Graham will use the doggie door to go outside but sometimes he will come back inside and potty.  Very much a work in progress.  Leash walking seems totally foreign to him.  He will just “refuse” to walk.  Not really a big deal because he is so small, there is no problem just carrying him around.  In fact, he would love if you just carried him around all day long.  He LOVES people and is great with other dogs.  He lives with several other dogs and gets along with all of them.  When in the car he prefers to ride in your lap.  Many times, when we bring senior dogs into rescue they just stay with their initial foster because we know their time is limited.  That truly is not the case with Graham.  He is ready to take on the world.  Graham is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and fecal and heartworm tested (both negative). We have been putting a nonprescription eye lube into his eyes a couple times a day just to keep him comfortable.  His vision might not be 100% but he sees well enough to navigate wherever he might want to go.  If you are looking for a dog to keep you laughing and put a smile on the faces of everyone the 2 of you come into contact with – then Graham is the guy for you.  Jump on over to our website: www.bostonbuddies.org and complete an adoption application. Story
Put your paws together for the next “Golden Bachelor”, Piglet.  Piglet was brought into the Oceanside Humane Society as a stray.  Guessing he wandered a bit too far from the 100 Acre Woods. They named him Piglet because he has characteristics that reminded them of Winnie the Pooh’s BFF.  Just like his namesake, Piglet’s best qualities are his gentle nature and loyalty.  There is no doubt in our minds that he was once a beloved family member.  His manners are impeccable. Dog friendly, great in the car, never barks, uses the doggie door to take care of his potty business, perfectly behaved for baths and nail trims and never jumps up on people or the furniture.  He is estimated to be 10 years old and weighs in at 28 pounds.  Being a senior, he does have a couple of age-related ailments.  There is a bit of arthritis in his back legs and cataracts in both eyes.  He is visual and navigates around the house just fine.  He is able to go on short strolls around the neighborhood (which he loves to do).  Piglet just isn’t going to be running any 5ks and stairs are kind of tough for him.  His perfect day consists of a good breakfast and then sunbathing in the backyard, a nice afternoon walk, a good dinner and snuggling up with his foster Mom to watch TV.  He does nap quite a bit, but when he wakes up, he seeks out attention from his foster parents.  This guy loves belly rubs and scratches behind his ears. Piglet has been completely vetted.  He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and received a dental to include 5 extractions.  He has been totally spruced up and is ready for a new adventure.  Are you looking for an easy to care for and devoted companion?  If so, Piglet would love to meet you.  Head on over to our website: www.bostonbuddies.org and complete an Application.  Adoption Donation $250.00 View more pictures on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BostonBuddiesInc April 18, 2024, 7:27 pm

Story
Kind, kissable Kosmo was left in a crate overnight at the Chula Vista Shelter.  Poor guy had to be so scared and confused.  Luckily the shelter staff knew Boston Buddies could help him.  After waiting out his stray hold, Kosmo received his neuter and a complete dental to include 7 extractions.  Now his breath is fresh, and he has a movie star smile!  Kosmo was nervous when he arrived at his foster home.  Sure can’t blame him after all he had been through.  Each day he felt more comfortable, and his sweet personality and gentle temperament really started to show.  He LOVES people and is great with other dogs.  He is estimated to be 10 years old and weighs 20 pounds.  Kosmo enjoys a slow stroll around the block.  He is showing signs of some arthritis in his back legs so long walks and stairs aren’t really his cup of tea.  Great in the car, never barks, never chews on things he shouldn’t or dig hole in your yard.  Not a fan of using the doggie door but will stand by the door to let you know he needs to go out to potty.  At night he loves to snuggle in close to his foster Mom to sleep but he is also okay to sleep in a doggie bed.  Kosmo is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm and fecal tested (both negative).  If you are interested in adding a “Super Senior” to your pack, all you have to do is fill out an adoption applications at www.BostonBuddies.org.  Adoption Donation $250.00   View more photos on our Facebook page https://m.facebook.com/BostonBuddiesIncApril 18, 2024, 7:27 pm

Story
Adorable 13 week old Shilo is ready for his loving forever home. Shilo weighs 13 pounds  of pure love and sweetness. He’s super smart and responds quickly to training. He’s currently learning how to walk on a leash without pulling, he knows how to sit and lay down, he waits patiently in his bed while his meal is being prepared, and he goes potty on command. He’s very playful and would do well with other playful, friendly dogs or as a single dog since he loves to snuggle with his humans. He’s very sweet with children and is currently living with a foster family that has 2 young children, a small dog, and chickens and he’s getting along very well with everyone. Shilo is a fun mix of pug, shitzu with a little staffie and will probably weigh 25-30 pounds when full grown ( His Mom weighs 25-30pounds) Shilo will make an amazing addition to the lucky family that gets to add this cutie pie to their loving and playful family. Shilo is all packed and ready for his next  fun adventures with his loving  forever family. If you're interested in adopting Shilo, please fill out an application at www.doggiebonez.com.
