Oreo comes from a breeder. She is 2 1/2 years old. The breeder was going to breed her, that's why she kept her this long. She has NOT had any pups. She wants to find her a furever home. She has been spayed, recently. She has been raised around Great Danes, Cats and other small dogs. Oreo gets along with them all. She is living with the breeder in Valley Center, CA (North of Escondido).

Get out of the way and make room for Graham. The most entertaining, 10-pound, vintage American Gentleman you might have the opportunity to meet. A few weeks ago, social media was all a buzz. Everyone was advocating to save the senior Boston Terrier that was at the Downey Shelter. Our Rescue Director rushed to LA to pull the frail old guy and get him vetted and into a foster home. Well… to all of our amazement – the skinny, 12-year-old BT, the shelter named Graham is full of life, curiosity and agility. While it is obvious, he needs to gain a few pounds, this guy eats like a champ and has more energy than dogs half his age. Constantly on the go and hard at work making sure things are as they should be. Graham is the self-appointed “Supervisor” of everything his foster mom does. If she opens a closet door, he is going in to make sure everything is organized to his liking. If you open a cabinet, he is going to scale the shelves to make sure they are up to code. Do you need help with household chore? This guy is right there checking out the dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. He believes in efficiency and getting things done. His Foster Dad is trying to teach this old dog new tricks. Graham will use the doggie door to go outside but sometimes he will come back inside and potty. Very much a work in progress. Leash walking seems totally foreign to him. He will just “refuse” to walk. Not really a big deal because he is so small, there is no problem just carrying him around. In fact, he would love if you just carried him around all day long. He LOVES people and is great with other dogs. He lives with several other dogs and gets along with all of them. When in the car he prefers to ride in your lap. Many times, when we bring senior dogs into rescue they just stay with their initial foster because we know their time is limited. That truly is not the case with Graham. He is ready to take on the world. Graham is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and fecal and heartworm tested (both negative). We have been putting a nonprescription eye lube into his eyes a couple times a day just to keep him comfortable. His vision might not be 100% but he sees well enough to navigate wherever he might want to go. Beau has been a busy guy since coming into rescue. You might recall that upon his arrival it was discovered that he had squamous cell carcinoma. Pretty scary stuff, but the doctors at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital were able to help. On July 3rd, Beau underwent a penectomy. This procedure is the most common treatment for penile cancer. The goal was to remove all of the cancer, and we are happy to report the procedure was a complete success. Beau is now cancer free!! He has fully recovered from his surgery, no medications or additional treatments are required. Our handsome gentleman has a whole new lease on life and is looking for a family to share it with. Beau is an energetic and playful guy. He is dog friendly, great on leash and in the car. Uses the doggie door to take care of his business. He can be a bit vocal when he is unhappy about being left alone, but his foster family has monitored him with their inhome cameras and he mellows out after a few minutes. Beau is estimated to be 7 years old, weighs 22 pounds and has a beautiful reddish/brow coat. Beau is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. You may have seen Carl looking for a home earlier this year. We thought we had found the perfect match for him with a family that was committed to following the rules that came with Carl and continue his training he learned while in board and train. We were explicitly clear with them that Carl is going to be an only dog and is not your dog park kind of a guy. They assured us they were fine with Carl being an only dog. Alas, Carl is back looking for a home after his adopters did not follow the rules and allowed Carl to make bad choices. And then they decided that Carl needed to meet other dogs – that did not go well – especially because Carl knew he could get away with bad choices. So here he is paying the price. We apologized to Carl and told him we would be sure to find him a family that will follow through with what he needs – a leader and someone able and willing to make him follow rules. Carl came to Boston Buddies after being dropped in the overnight box at the Devore Shelter. Thankfully that’s in the past, now Carl is safe, living the good life , and hoping to find his new family! Car is just 2 years old and weighs 20 lbs. Carl is a dreamboat of a dog and super cute with mesmerizing soulful eyes and an irrestible “no way you can’t fall in love’ mug – which can lead a lot of people to excuse his bad choices. That is not what Carl needs. Carl is most happy with a person who will hold him accountable and also engage him in the games and fun that feed his soul with joy. Carl will do best as an only pet in a home with a yard so he can run and play with abandon in his own space. Carl loves to play tug and is learning how to do agility and his trainer thinks he would do great in “bite work” which is a great skill that you can learn with him to increase your bond with your new boy – and you can also show it off to your friends – how many of them have a dog that can do bite work?! We do know that without a doubt he will absolutely steal your heart. Carl is pretty much the perfect package for anything you’re up to. Whether you’re out on a structured walk, enjoying a hike in the hills, looking for some sweet lap sits and snuggles, or needing a cuddle buddy on the couch, you can always count on Carl! Simply put, you won’t find a happier, healthier, more handsome guy than our charming Carl. And by fun we mean belly rubs, and back scratches, and copious amounts of cuddling…and a few chew toys in between! A true Black Satin Gentleman, Shadow walks well on his leash (unless he sees a cheeky squirrel), sleeps soundly through the night (preferably under the covers, on top of the covers, in or on your bed), is crate trained, doesn’t mind freshening up in the bath, and is housebroken. He is gets along with other dogs and does well with them during meet and greets on his walks! The sweetest little meatball of a Boston boy, Shadow lives for meal time and hasn’t met a treat he doesn’t like to eat, and will happily sit for any snack. Ready and waiting for your next adventure, whether it’s a road trip or a trip to the store, Shadow does well in the car and can’t wait to partake! He’s an overall healthy and happy guy; he just got a mass removed from his leg with clean margins, Vet found a slight heart murmur, cardiologist ran tests- no meds needed at this time. If you’re looking for love you’re in serious luck because our lover boy is lookin for a FUREVER home to call his very own! We don’t know where Gino came from or how he ended up covered in scrapes with a broken jaw at the SEAACA Shelter, but it’s abundantly clear that Gino has not danced down the streets or been given the love and life he undoubtedly deserves. Thankfully, Gino’s furever future is about to be bursting at the seams with amore (love) thanks to you! Our handsome 2-3 year old man is absolutely thriving in his foster home and has swiftly swept his foster mom off of her feet! Gino is gracious with his kisses, is the king of cuddling, and is genuinely happy as long as he’s with his humans. He is gentle, kind, playful, and as curious as they come—eager to please and willing to learn the manners and ways of a great indoorsman! Gino knows no stranger-he’s met the cats and scurried away and loves to play with his furry foster dog siblings! An active family would be a fabulous fit for our guy. Gino is a one of a kind gentleman with his wonderful white coat, dapper black dots, and soulfully deep brown eyes! Our volunteer says he has the most special spirit! Mr. Amore is healthy and healing, but will need to remain on soft food while his jaw continues to heal for about another 2 months. Skye is a sweet and loving puppy about 8-9 months old. She weights 33 lbs and loves pets and ear scratches. We rescued her 3 months ago, she was abandoned with her sister, we are unsure how long they were left to fend for themselves. Because they were abandoned they resource guard with each other but they do not resource guard with people. I would keep her, but the two dogs don't get along so I have to keep them separated. She would do great in a single-animal household with someone who loves her. We have crate-trained her and are working on basic training. Still working on potty training though.
