Meet Berkley! He’s a 3 year old, 25 pound Boston terrier mix. He likes to be the only pup in the home, so he can get all the belly rubs. Berkley is potty trained, and walks well on the leash. Older kids would be best while he’s settling in to a new home. Berkley is looking for his forever family, and he can’t wait to meet you!Interested in adopting this pet? Story
Get out of the way and make room for Graham.  The most entertaining, 10-pound, vintage American Gentleman you might have the opportunity to meet.  A few weeks ago, social media was all a buzz.  Everyone was advocating to save the senior Boston Terrier that was at the Downey Shelter.  Our Rescue Director rushed to LA to pull the frail old guy and get him vetted and into a foster home.  Well… to all of our amazement – the skinny, 12-year-old BT, the shelter named Graham is full of life, curiosity and agility.  While it is obvious, he needs to gain a few pounds, this guy eats like a champ and has more energy than dogs half his age.  Constantly on the go and hard at work making sure things are as they should be.  Graham is the self-appointed “Supervisor” of everything his foster mom does.  If she opens a closet door, he is going in to make sure everything is organized to his liking.  If you open a cabinet, he is going to scale the shelves to make sure they are up to code.  Do you need help with household chore?   This guy is right there checking out the dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.  He believes in efficiency and getting things done.  His Foster Dad is trying to teach this old dog new tricks.  Graham will use the doggie door to go outside but sometimes he will come back inside and potty.  Very much a work in progress.  Leash walking seems totally foreign to him.  He will just “refuse” to walk.  Not really a big deal because he is so small, there is no problem just carrying him around.  In fact, he would love if you just carried him around all day long.  He LOVES people and is great with other dogs.  He lives with several other dogs and gets along with all of them.  When in the car he prefers to ride in your lap.  Many times, when we bring senior dogs into rescue they just stay with their initial foster because we know their time is limited.  That truly is not the case with Graham.  He is ready to take on the world.  Graham is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and fecal and heartworm tested (both negative). We have been putting a nonprescription eye lube into his eyes a couple times a day just to keep him comfortable.  His vision might not be 100% but he sees well enough to navigate wherever he might want to go.  If you are looking for a dog to keep you laughing and put a smile on the faces of everyone the 2 of you come into contact with – then Graham is the guy for you.  Jump on over to our website: www.bostonbuddies.org and complete an adoption application. Story
A new dreamboat just sailed in to Boston Buddies; he is as handsome as can be and lucky you—he’s looking for his FUREVER family. Please give the warmest welcome to the cutest kid on the BB block, CARL! Carl came to Boston Buddies after being dropped in the overnight box at the Devore Shelter. Thankfully that’s in the past, now Carl is safe, living the good life , and hoping to find his new family super fast! Where do we even begin with this guy?! Is it his mesmerizing soulful eyes, his super irresistible “no way you can’t fall in love”mug, those perfectly popped with just the right amount of flop ears, his charisma, his charm…we could go on and on! Our 2 year old little looker is bouncy and sweet and very smart—without a doubt he will absolutely steal your heart. He has a bit of a prey drive when it comes to toys, but he does well with other dogs, can do without cats, and is happy with all humans! Carl isn’t just really really good looking, he has turned in to a true black satin gentleman after spending a month with the very best trainers at Hope2K9! At 20lbs, Carl is pretty much the perfect package for anything you’re up to. Whether you’re out on a walk, enjoying a hike, looking for some sweet lap sits and snuggles, or needing a cuddle buddy on the couch, you can always count on Carl! Simply put, you won’t find a happier, healthier, more handsome guy than our charming Carl. Story
Put your paws together for the next “Golden Bachelor”, Piglet.  Piglet was brought into the Oceanside Humane Society as a stray.  Guessing he wandered a bit too far from the 100 Acre Woods. They named him Piglet because he has characteristics that reminded them of Winnie the Pooh’s BFF.  Just like his namesake, Piglet’s best qualities are his gentle nature and loyalty.  There is no doubt in our minds that he was once a beloved family member.  His manners are impeccable. Dog friendly, great in the car, never barks, uses the doggie door to take care of his potty business, perfectly behaved for baths and nail trims and never jumps up on people or the furniture.  He is estimated to be 10 years old and weighs in at 28 pounds.  Being a senior, he does have a couple of age-related ailments.  There is a bit of arthritis in his back legs and cataracts in both eyes.  He is visual and navigates around the house just fine.  He is able to go on short strolls around the neighborhood (which he loves to do).  Piglet just isn’t going to be running any 5ks and stairs are kind of tough for him.  His perfect day consists of a good breakfast and then sunbathing in the backyard, a nice afternoon walk, a good dinner and snuggling up with his foster Mom to watch TV.  He does nap quite a bit, but when he wakes up, he seeks out attention from his foster parents.  This guy loves belly rubs and scratches behind his ears. Piglet has been completely vetted.  He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and received a dental to include 5 extractions.  He has been totally spruced up and is ready for a new adventure.  Are you looking for an easy to care for and devoted companion?  If so, Piglet would love to meet you.  Head on over to our website: www.bostonbuddies.org and complete an Application.  Adoption Donation $250.00 View more pictures on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BostonBuddiesInc April 18, 2024, 7:27 pm

Story
Who can resist this face? No one! Meet Brielle, a local celebrity in her neighborhood. Yes, her smushy face and her short legs and chubby body make her adorable, but her charm is what captivates everyone who meets her!  Despite the trauma of being attacked and severely injured by another dog a couple months back, Brielle is healed up and the sweetest three-year-old brindle Frenchie girl you will ever meet! She loves her toys (especially soft ones she can chew on) and zooming around the yard, but her favorite spot to be is snuggling up next to her person. She loves to play around with her small foster sister, but always keeps her large foster brother in check. She would do well with a small sibling in her forever home, but would be just fine being the one and only princess as well. Brielle likes to give lots of juicy kisses with her big tongue; which usually hangs out a little when she sleeps. Her cute piggy noises while she's eating and deep snores will make you laugh (and wish you owned earplugs). What more can we say about this gorgeous girl? I say, open your heart to adopting this girl and experience her unconditional love for a lifetime! If you are interested in adopting, please visit the I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue website and complete an adoption application: www.icaredogrescue.org/ready-to-adopt Adoption fee includes: spay/neuter • shots up to date • micro-chip • fecal and vet check Breeds and age are not guaranteed. Story
Meet Rosie - the amazing Pug! She is six years old and a very low energy, easy going dog and will adapt to whatever you are doing. Pugs just love to be with their people. Getting some fresh air and baking in the sun are favorite pastimes for Rosie. She will also do a couple zoomies and play with the other dogs for fun. She loves her walks and goes for a mile when weather is cool (careful with pugs they can overheat). She loves when the neighborhood children come to visit and shower her with attention. She is very people and dog friendly and she would do well going everywhere with you. She can sit on the couch with you or lay to the side and be happy. She likes her chew toys so have some ready on hand. Rosie makes herself fit right in and is the most loving sweet dog. Be sure to brush your Pug because they are double coated and can shed. Rosie is very special and you'll fall in love with her funny snore when she is sleeping. If it sounds like a good match, get your application in today!
