This pint-sized boy previously suffered a hip injury, which has healed beautifully, and his happy, playful spirit never missed a beat. Ian is fun, boisterous, and full of contagious joy. He loves attention, enjoys romping around with his toys, and is always ready for a cuddle when playtime winds down. He does well with other dogs and would make a wonderful addition to a home with canine friends. Ian also loves his food and is happily not picky. He eats from a slow-feeder bowl to help him enjoy his meals at a healthy pace and aid digestion. Medical Transparency (the important but reassuring part): Ian has Diabetes Insipidus, which is not the same as diabetes mellitus. This condition affects how his body concentrates urine and has nothing to do with blood sugar. • Oral medication only — no shots or injections • Takes medication twice daily to maintain healthy urine concentration and support full bladder emptying • Medication may be lifelong or temporary, depending on future veterinary guidance • Medication cost can vary depending on the veterinarian or pharmacy • Needs frequent potty breaks Ian does wonderfully on his routine and is otherwise a happy, active, affectionate young dog. I am a timid little girl at first, but once I warm up and feel safe, I am the silliest, sweetest, most loving and loyal companion one could ask for.Personality:Dionne may start off a little cautious with new people, but once she feels safe, she becomes an affectionate, loyal little shadow. She’s a pro snuggler, gives excellent kisses, and enjoys short bursts of playful energy before settling in for cuddles. She loves; walks, scratches, toys, treats, bones, showing off her smarts with tricks, and even chasing her own tail.Training & House Manners:- Potty trained- Sleeps through the night quietly in her crate and keeps it clean- Crate trained during the workday — relaxes calmly while her foster parents are away- SUPER SMART and treat-motivated which makes her eager to please/learn, she already knows “sit”, `lay`, `paw`, `high five` `sit pretty` and continues to learn more each day!- Needs work on the leash. She loves getting out for walks and enjoys all the smells - we are working on training as there is some leash pulling mostly due to excitement and some barking at strangers (humans and other dogs) on walks, positive signs of improvement here already, but she will need continued training here!- Loves scratches and will melt in your lap if you hit the right spotGood with dogs and kids, but too excited for cats!
