Meet Ian – Your Slightly Wonky, Totally Wonderful Adventure Buddy If you like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain… Ian might just be your perfect match. This little Boston Terrier mix lives life full throttle—zooming through the yard like he’s racing in the Indy 500, making pit stops in imaginary swamps with Shrek, and embracing every muddy, joy-filled moment along the way (bonus points if you don’t mind getting a little dirty with him). Ian is a young, playful pup with a heart as big as his personality. He came into rescue with a shattered hip that has since healed, leaving him with an adorable “wonky” gait. When he runs, his back leg sometimes flails out to the side—but it doesn’t slow him down one bit. If anything, it just makes him even more unforgettable. Personality & Play Style: Ian is a social, toy-loving goofball who thrives on fun. He always has a toy in his mouth—seriously, always. He’ll take them outside, bring them back in, and politely “check” them at the door until you hand them back. He loves playing with other dogs, especially games of chase and keep-away. After playtime, Ian enjoys winding down with his favorite toy and appreciates a little personal space during his chill time. Because of this, he’d do best with a laid-back, respectful dog companion—especially one around his size or slightly smaller who won’t bother him when he’s relaxing. Snuggles Included: Once the zoomies are out, Ian is all about couch time. He’ll curl up beside you, toy in tow, and drift off while you watch TV. The perfect mix of playful and snuggly. Communication Style (aka his signature move): Ian has the best voice—a raspy, screechy, baby pterodactyl sound that he proudly uses to let you know when he’s ready to come out of his crate or needs a potty break. It’s hilarious, endearing, and very effective. He’ll also quietly go sit by the door, so keep an eye out—he’s a good boy who just needs you to notice his polite signals. Mealtime & Care: Ian is an enthusiastic foodie, so he uses a slow feeder bowl to keep mealtime safe and comfortable. Medical Transparency: Due to his past injury, Ian has diabetes insipidus. The good news: • No injections required • Managed with oral medication twice daily • Just needs a few extra potty breaks His condition is well-managed, and he’s living a happy, active, zoomie-filled life. She is loving, affectionate with people, and enjoys walks, cuddles, car rides, etc. Nina has lived with a small dog and cat; however we feel with an experienced adopter she may be open to gain more social skills with other furfriends. She has some anxiety and would love a solo owner but under the right circumstance and being well managed; we think she can flourish! We would prefer a family that is an experienced dog owner. Pal's Place has three of the sweetest, most adorable, and lovable little nuggets in town, all looking for loving forever families. These precious little guys were rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural Kentucky and are now in a loving foster home in Chicago, waiting to meet their forever families. Their mother is a purebred Boston Terrier; their father is unknown, but the family that surrendered the puppies mentioned a neighbor's Beagle/Hound mix or their Cattledog mix was the suspected father. The puppies were born the first week in January, and at 4.5 months old, they weigh around 25 pounds. Given their current age and size, we expect a mature size of roughly 40 pounds in an adorable, short, solid, stocky build. Swiss, Cheddar, and Colby are curious, energetic, social, and happy, making great companions for active families who have the time and patience to raise, train, socialize, and exercise them. Puppies are undoubtedly adorable and fun, but require a great deal of time and attention during their first several months. Please remember that puppies this age need frequent potty breaks (every 3-4 hours or so) and lots of playtime, engagement, and mental stimulation throughout the day, so please consider if you truly have the time for a puppy before applying. The adoption fee to the rescue is $475 per puppy. They are neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and started on flea and heartworm preventatives. • The cheese litter is fostered in Chicago, and meetings can be scheduled by appointment only after an adoption application has been completed and approved. The adoption fee per puppy to the rescue is $475. This fee helps cover their neutering, initial vaccinations, microchips, and other care needs. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. We respond to inquiries, questions, and applications by email. We are a volunteer-run organization and strive to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours, though we may occasionally take longer.
