Story
Looking for a little dog with a whole lot of heart? Meet Ian! Ian is a 1.5-year-old black and white sweetheart who proves every day that a rough start does not define your future. This pint-sized boy previously suffered a hip injury, which has healed beautifully, and his happy, playful spirit never missed a beat. Ian is fun, boisterous, and full of contagious joy. He loves attention, enjoys romping around with his toys, and is always ready for a cuddle when playtime winds down. He does well with other dogs and would make a wonderful addition to a home with canine friends. Ian also loves his food and is happily not picky. He eats from a slow-feeder bowl to help him enjoy his meals at a healthy pace and aid digestion. Medical Transparency (the important but reassuring part): Ian has Diabetes Insipidus, which is not the same as diabetes mellitus. This condition affects how his body concentrates urine and has nothing to do with blood sugar. • Oral medication only — no shots or injections • Takes medication twice daily to maintain healthy urine concentration and support full bladder emptying • Medication may be lifelong or temporary, depending on future veterinary guidance • Medication cost can vary depending on the veterinarian or pharmacy • Needs frequent potty breaks Ian does wonderfully on his routine and is otherwise a happy, active, affectionate young dog. He is looking for a loving home that will appreciate his joyful personality and continue his simple daily care so he can thrive for years to come. Are you ready to give this resilient, playful boy the forever home he deserves? Basic Info: Male, 1 yr old, Boston Terrier/Chihuahua, Coat: Black and White, neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots and preventions, preventatives. Local adoption fee (Texas) - $200 Out of state adoption (includes transport to your area) ‐ $450

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Griffin, a sweet and gentle boy from a litter of seven who is waiting for a patient, loving family to call his own! Born on August 30, 2025, Griffin weighs 18 pounds and has a quiet charm all his own. Griffin’s mom is a beautiful pure bred Boston Terrier who found herself on the streets.  We suspect the dad was a local unnamed politician that promised the moon.  A good Samaritan rescued the mom and fostered her puppies until they were 8 weeks old.   Griffin is our shy boy. He loves attention and affection, but he needs a little time to get to know you first. Once he feels comfortable, his playful side shines through! He adores toys and playtime and promises to be a fun and loving companion once he has built his trust in you. This little pup needs someone with the time and patience to continue his training and socialization, helping him build confidence and grow into a well-adjusted adult dog. If Griffin sounds like the perfect, sweet addition to your family, please complete an application on our website: www.adoggie4you.org.  His adoption fee is $350. This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 9, 2026, 4:24 pm

Story
Nova is a 35lb adult (5yr-ish) French bulldog mix. She is incredibly sweet and affectionate and would love to find a forever home. She is still working on her housetraining (great with #1, still working on #2). She walks perfectly on a leash and adores snuggles and couch naps. She loves to show her excitement by wagging her whole body! She came into the rescue with a number of health issues - like most Frenchies - and needs an adopter who understands the financial committments of owning this wonderful, but expensive breed. She had a corneal ulcer (being treated with eye medication), a UTI (treated), unaltered (we fixed her), and with heartworms (she's on the slow kill treatment). Despite all of that, her spirit is amazing - full of love and happiness!! Nova is located in Houston TX and will only be transported upon completed adoption. Her adoption fee is $400. Inquiries will not be responded to unless a completed application has been sent. You can fill out an application at www.recycleddogsrescue.org. You must fill out all of the blanks in the application - put "n/a" if one question is not applicable to you.

Story
Betty Lavender is a petite force of a Frenchie with enough personality to make up for her mobility disadvantages. Betty loves her person and is a dedicated cuddler, but she is also very playful and energetic. She’s an absolute foodie with a very advanced palate, and an accomplished co-pilot. Betty is looking for someone to see past her disabilities to the amazing dog beneath the diapers and stylish suspenders. Betty came to us after she was dumped by her previous owners after a pregnancy caused a disc to bulge in her spine, resulting in partial paralysis. She doesn’t have full control over her bladder (her happy tinkles get the better of her more now), so she wears a diaper to be courteous indoors. She partially drags her hind end, but it doesn’t slow her down one bit. She is capable of running at shockingly high speeds, doing cute little leaps over the threshold, and activating her impressive core strength to get her legs fully beneath her to stand at times (mostly when motivated by food.) — From a medical perspective, she’s been cleared by a vet and we are looking into getting her a specially fitted wheelchair to help her outdoor mobility level up even further, but even without the aid of her wheelchair, she is a very mobile and active little girl - she does does things in a different way. Betty can also be a little bit of a guard-dog at heart, and she’s very protective of her home and her people. An adopter experienced with resource-guarding behaviors in dogs would be ideal for this little motorized cannonball. She will do best as an only dog. Betty Lavender does well with free-roam living and isn’t known to get into things she’s not supposed to. She will settle in a crate or a playpen, but she will make sure you are well aware of her displeasure by singing you a 20ish minute concert titled “How Dare You”. Betty is currently being fostered in Chicago and does have an open adoption radius for meaning she can be adopted in or outside of Chicago. However, selected adopter must be willing to meet and finalize in Chicago. Her adoption fee includes her spay, up to date vaccines, heart worm negative and microchip.

Story
Sam is a sweet pug looking for an experienced patient family that speaks 'dog'. Sam is a breeder release from a commercial facility. He hasn't had the benefit a dog his age might have who was born in a home. That being said, while he is scared and timid, once he feels safe he is longing to bond with a family. He will likely always be timid. He needs family who will help him slowly decompress and adjust in his own time. Sam s a friendly gentle guy He needs a fenced in yard for his potty place. He doesn't understand leash walking. Pugs tend to be Velcro dogs. They want to be close to a human, Sam is friendly, wags his tail and then retreats, He wants to be cared for, He needs to relax enough to know he can move forward without fear, He needs a patient adopter without expectations he will change but will give him the time to allow him to if he chooses, Like all dogs, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all dogs, not only to give Sam important learning skills, but because you and your dog will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Sam is fully vetted. She has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption fee is $800..00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Sam wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 12 MONTHS): You must have a flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt in the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits. If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate for Sam, please fill out an application for his adoption on our website at: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/info/adoption. The first step in the process is to complete an application. We are all volunteers with full-time jobs. We try to get back to all applicants within 72 hours. We are an in home foster volunteer group. We are not a brick and mortar, There is no building to come and view dogs. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at: RescueTailsAnimalWelfare@gmail.com. If you aren’t looking to adopt but still would like to help Sam , please consider a donation for her food, housing, and veterinary care. To donate, please visit: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org
