Looking for a little dog with a whole lot of heart? Meet Ian! Ian is a 1.5-year-old black and white sweetheart who proves every day that a rough start does not define your future. This pint-sized boy previously suffered a hip injury, which has healed beautifully, and his happy, playful spirit never missed a beat. Ian is fun, boisterous, and full of contagious joy. He loves attention, enjoys romping around with his toys, and is always ready for a cuddle when playtime winds down. He does well with other dogs and would make a wonderful addition to a home with canine friends. Ian also loves his food and is happily not picky. He eats from a slow-feeder bowl to help him enjoy his meals at a healthy pace and aid digestion. Medical Transparency (the important but reassuring part): Ian has Diabetes Insipidus, which is not the same as diabetes mellitus. This condition affects how his body concentrates urine and has nothing to do with blood sugar. • Oral medication only — no shots or injections • Takes medication twice daily to maintain healthy urine concentration and support full bladder emptying • Medication may be lifelong or temporary, depending on future veterinary guidance • Medication cost can vary depending on the veterinarian or pharmacy • Needs frequent potty breaks Ian does wonderfully on his routine and is otherwise a happy, active, affectionate young dog. Story
Ozzy is such a good boy and loves his people so much. He is energetic and needs to be able to run every day, but then loves to nap in the sunshine and snuggle with his people. He adores chasing a Frisbee in winter or chasing water from a hose in summer. He is great at playing fetch and loves tug of war too. He is house trained and crated trained at night. He knows "sit" and "stay" and will stay in "place" until released really well (we are working on it during moments of lots of excitement but he is doing great with it). He really is very trainable and will absolutely thrive with the right guidance. He probably should not be in a house with cats. He wants to play chase not hurt them but it can be stressful for the cats. He loves playing with other dogs, but tests boundaries and needs correction as he learns. He has anxiety in situations with lots of stimulus, but with the right guidance could become more adjusted. No small kids because he doesn't know his size and will jump.

Nova is a 35lb adult (5yr-ish) French bulldog mix. She is incredibly sweet and affectionate and would love to find a forever home. She is still working on her housetraining (great with #1, still working on #2). She walks perfectly on a leash and adores snuggles and couch naps. She loves to show her excitement by wagging her whole body! She came into the rescue with a number of health issues - like most Frenchies - and needs an adopter who understands the financial committments of owning this wonderful, but expensive breed. She had a corneal ulcer (being treated with eye medication), a UTI (treated), unaltered (we fixed her), and with heartworms (she's on the slow kill treatment). Despite all of that, her spirit is amazing - full of love and happiness!! Nova is located in Houston TX and will only be transported upon completed adoption. Her adoption fee is $400. Inquiries will not be responded to unless a completed application has been sent. You can fill out an application at www.recycleddogsrescue.org. You must fill out all of the blanks in the application - put "n/a" if one question is not applicable to you.

Story
Betty Lavender is a petite force of a Frenchie with enough personality to make up for her mobility disadvantages. Betty loves her person and is a dedicated cuddler, but she is also very playful and energetic. She’s an absolute foodie with a very advanced palate, and an accomplished co-pilot. Betty is looking for someone to see past her disabilities to the amazing dog beneath the diapers and stylish suspenders. Betty came to us after she was dumped by her previous owners after a pregnancy caused a disc to bulge in her spine, resulting in partial paralysis. She doesn’t have full control over her bladder (her happy tinkles get the better of her more now), so she wears a diaper to be courteous indoors. She partially drags her hind end, but it doesn’t slow her down one bit. She is capable of running at shockingly high speeds, doing cute little leaps over the threshold, and activating her impressive core strength to get her legs fully beneath her to stand at times (mostly when motivated by food.) — From a medical perspective, she’s been cleared by a vet and we are looking into getting her a specially fitted wheelchair to help her outdoor mobility level up even further, but even without the aid of her wheelchair, she is a very mobile and active little girl - she does does things in a different way. Betty can also be a little bit of a guard-dog at heart, and she’s very protective of her home and her people. An adopter experienced with resource-guarding behaviors in dogs would be ideal for this little motorized cannonball. She will do best as an only dog. Betty Lavender does well with free-roam living and isn’t known to get into things she’s not supposed to. She will settle in a crate or a playpen, but she will make sure you are well aware of her displeasure by singing you a 20ish minute concert titled “How Dare You”. Betty is currently being fostered in Chicago and does have an open adoption radius for meaning she can be adopted in or outside of Chicago. However, selected adopter must be willing to meet and finalize in Chicago. Her adoption fee includes her spay, up to date vaccines, heart worm negative and microchip.
