Meet our survivor, Cooper — a 5‑month‑old, 15‑lb Pug/Beagle mix who’s lucky to be alive. He was found darting through traffic, terrified and confused, when a good Samaritan stopped just in time and scooped him up. He was only 10 pounds then — skin and bones, just a baby — and no one even knew his age. Now he’s safe in a foster home, finally getting the care, food, and comfort he’s been missing. He’s still very much a puppy, full of sweetness and curiosity, and he’s learning what it means to be loved. Puppy | Male | 5 months | 15 lbs | Pug/Beagle mix He’s ready for a family who will protect him, teach him, and give him the soft landing he never had. But he needed out! He was only 10 lbs, just a baby, we didn't even know his age. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. My name is Ozzie, and I am 1.5 years old. 16 lb Pug. Before I cam to Humane Tomorrow, I was living with 5 other Pugs, all relatives of some kind, together in a house. We never went outside of the house, and I know now what a mess and how unhealthy that was. Now I am in a foster home, with other dogs, but we go outside into a yard, and my foster family has been teaching me what doggies are supposed to do. I’ve learned a lot in the last few weeks, but still have more to learn. I’m a little mouthy – using my mouth and teeth sometimes (just to play), but still probably not a good fit with young kids. I’ve discovered that I especially like to play tug with my people, but sometimes I get a little overstimulated when I play. So, just let me win and call the game! I get along well with the other dogs in the household most of the time, and have discovered I like to chew on nylabones. I like to sit with my people, cuddling with them and sometimes I like to get up high on the top of chairs so I get a view of everything around me. I am still getting used to this thing around my neck (collar) and walking on a leash, but I like it in my foster home with all the attention I’m getting. I am crate trained, but any new home will need to continue my house training. I’ve been wearing a belly band while I figure things out.
