Story
Hi, I’m Scarlett!I’m a 6-year-old female Boston Terrier, and I’m looking for a family who’ll help me feel safe and loved. Shelter life can be a little overwhelming for me, so I may act a bit fearful at first. I warm up best when people let me come to them at my own pace. A quiet room or crate where I can unwind would help me settle in. Gentle handling, and yummy treats are the way to my heart. Supervise new introductions and give me time before expecting me to join in on all the household fun.In the yard, I’ve shown loose, relaxed body language, neutral ears, and I enjoy exploring. I’ve politely greeted other dogs and tolerated their greetings just fine.Foster reason: I still need to be neutered and have an enucleation, so I need a cozy home to recover in.Come meet me from 12 PM to 6 PM, open every day. No application or appointment required - walk-ins welcome. SPCA of Texas, 2400 Lone Star Drive, Dallas, TX 75212 Or if you’re interested in just fostering, please email foster@spca.org to schedule an appointment!

Story
Hi, I’m Chewie! I’m an 11-year-old pup with a youthful spirit and a heart full of love. At just 16 pounds, I’m the perfect size for lap cuddles, backyard zoomies, and everything in between. I’m a smart cookie—potty trained, crate trained, and always eager to please. I listen well and love making my humans happy. Whether it’s chasing toys, soaking up the sun, or flopping over for a belly rub, I bring joy to every moment. I’ve got a gentle soul and a playful streak, and I never say no to attention or snuggles. I’m happiest in a cat-free home, and while I haven’t spilled the beans on how I feel about other dogs just yet, I’d appreciate slow introductions to help me feel safe and comfortable. Also, I am a bit of a door darter, so you'll need to be careful around open doors.  If you’re looking for a bright, affectionate buddy who’ll be your sunshine and your snuggle bug, I’m your guy. Let’s make some memories together! My adoption fee is $100, but if you are a senior yourself (65+), my adoption fee is waived. Chewie takes Vetmedin which costs approximately $60 per month.   Thank you for your continued support in our rescue efforts! We are always looking for good foster homes. These homes allow us to rescue more Boston Terriers in need because we have a place for them to go until they are adopted. Story
Hi there! My name is Alex, and I’m a 1-year-old Boston Terrier boy weighing in at 16 pounds of pure love. I may be small, but I’ve got a big heart and the sweetest spirit you’ll ever meet. My favorite place in the world is snuggled up under the covers with my humans. I’m happiest when I’m close, soaking up all the love. I’m gentle and easygoing with other dogs, as long as they are not dominant,  and I love making new friends. Even though I’m crate trained and know how to use the doggy door, I still act like a puppy at times—playful, silly, and full of energy. I am still working on my house training as well. Walking on a leash is new to me, but I’m eager to learn, and with patience and encouragement I’ll be your perfect walking buddy. I adore all toys, and I have a special fondness for soft blankets that I can suck on—it’s my little comfort habit. I’m looking for a family who will cherish my cuddly nature, guide me as I continue my training, and share in all the joy I bring. If you’re searching for a gentle, playful, and affectionate companion, I think we’d be a perfect match. I will do fine with children.  My adoption fee is $450.  Thank you for your continued support in our rescue efforts! We are always looking for good foster homes. Story
Hi there!  My name is Mickey, I’m about 5  years old and weigh 27 pounds.  I’m a smart, charming guy, and very focused!  My foster mom says I am very athletic and have a ton of personality, and so handsome… that makes my blush!  At this time my trainer feels it would be best for me to be an only dog.   I’m crate trained and leash trained.  I need a home without children, older teens may be okay. Must have a home with fenced yard, no apartment.  I am looking for an active owner or couple who will want to do lots of things with me, but is also very patient and will continue my training.  My adoption fee is $150.  NO YOUNG CHILDREN.  NO OTHER PETS. MUST HAVE FENCED YARD.ADOPTERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO TAKE SEVERAL TRAINING SESSIONS WITH MICKEY IN MCKINNEY WITH THE RESCUE TRAINERS PRIOR TO ADOPTING TO CONTINUE WITH MICKEYS SUCCESS.  We are always looking for good foster homes. Story
Hi, I’m Gatsby, a friendly and loving 11 year old gentleman, around 45 lbs. I’m great with dogs and love to be around people. I’m always up for belly rubs, and if you stop petting me, I’ll paw at your hand to let you know I want more! Even at my age, I still get around great—jumping up on the couch without any issues, and I’m very active and spry for 10. I’m house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. I enjoy spending time with my people and following the pack when they go outside. I do have some allergies, but they’re under control now. While I don’t love car rides, I do enjoy short walks, though I’m more of a relaxed guy most of the time. My ideal home would be one where I’m not left alone too much. A yard and a doggie door would be great, but more than anything, I want to be close to you! I’m the perfect couch potato companion. My adoption fee is $100, but if you are a senior yourself (65+) my adoption fee is waived. Thank you for supporting our rescue efforts!    We are always looking for good foster homes. Story
Hello there. My name is Murphy, and I am a 15-year-old lil boy who weighs 22 pounds. I am so lucky this wonderful rescue came and saved me; I did not grow up in a very nice environment. I am a particular little guy; I like to do things on my own terms. I do not like to be forced to do things which makes me upset and nip. I also do not like to share toys or food. I want to be the leader, so I need to be the only dog in the house. I am still learning how to be a dog and still working on my house training and my manners. I do have some hearing loss and need kidney care food because of my age. I absolutely love to be outside and play with stuffies. My ideal home would a person who can teach me manners and who is willing to help me be a better guy. My adoption fee is $100, but if you are a senior yourself (65+), my adoption fee is waived. Must be an only dog. No children. Thank you for your continued support in our rescue efforts! NOTE:  Hospice fosters have ongoing medical needs that will require care for the rest of their lives. While they remain available for adoption, we carefully screen potential homes to ensure their medical and special needs can be fully supported. BTRNT is committed to providing these dogs with a loving forever home—whether that is through adoption or as a permanent hospice foster within our rescue. We are always looking for good foster homes.
