Please note that phone interviews are conducted only after a vet reference is approved and a potential match is identified for your home. We would love to introduce you to Esa! About Esa Esa is a sweet, 1-year-old girl weighing 21 pounds. Found as a stray, she required an emergency spay and an eye enucleation before being rescued by a kind veterinarian who connected her with our team. She also recently had successful cherry eye surgery on her remaining eye. Despite her tough start, Esa is learning that the world is a safe place. She is still a bit shy and skittish, but she makes progress every day and loves relaxing in her kennel with a soft blanket. Ideal Home & Expectations - Family & Environment: Esa would thrive with an active family who includes her in daily activities. She requires an experienced Boston Terrier or French Bulldog owner who can provide the time, patience, and encouragement she needs to build confidence. - Yard Requirements: A securely fenced yard is required (we cannot accept invisible fencing or apartments) as she continues working on leash training. - Other Pets: Esa prefers to be the center of attention, but she can coexist with a low-key male dog after proper introductions. She also does well with cats (she is currently fostered with two). - Children: She does best with calm, respectful children who have experience living with dogs. - Medical Needs: Annual follow-up appointments with a veterinary ophthalmologist are required to monitor her remaining eye and check for dry eye following her cherry eye repair. Meet Louie, an 11-year-old, 21-pound Boston Terrier gentleman currently being fostered in Seattle, WA. Don't let his age fool you—Louie is lively, confident, and loves being around people. He was brought into our care after his owner sadly passed away, and his family wanted to ensure he found the best possible home. About Louie: - Personality & Lifestyle: Friendly, affectionate, and a total cuddle bug who loves sleeping in bed and resting on laps. He enjoys car rides, daily walks, and sunbathing in the yard. - Compatibility: Great with people and other small dogs (large dogs make him nervous). He can live with calm, polite cats, but prefers a home without young children living there daily. - Training & Habits: Housetrained, excellent on a leash, and an infrequent barker (only alerting to doorbells or knocks). - Home Requirements: Requires a home with a fenced yard where someone is not away for long periods. - Health: No special medical needs. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and microchipped prior to adoption. As well any other medical needs are addressed prior to adoption. She may walk slightly ahead of her person, but overall she follows her handler well. FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Diesel! Diesel is a 4-year-old, 37 lb French Bulldog who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. He is a sweet, happy, bouncy boy with a sturdy little build and plenty of personality! Diesel loves going for walks with his people and walks well on leash. He is eager to please, especially when treats are involved, and he does well with other dogs. He wouldn’t mind having a canine companion in his new home, preferably another dog his size or larger. Diesel can be a little mouthy when he gets excited and likes to nibble on his people. He can be a bit hard-mouthed with this behavior, so he’ll need a family that is willing to continue working on appropriate manners and help him learn how to channel his excitement. We’re looking for a home with French Bulldog or similar breed experience that understands the unique needs and potential medical expenses that can come with the breed. Because Diesel can be bouncy, strong, and mouthy when excited, we recommend a home without young children. Diesel is a fun, affectionate guy who loves his people, enjoys getting out for walks, and is ready to find a family who will appreciate his big personality in a compact package!
