Story
Meet Maroon! He is a sweet, sensitive goofball who is looking to develop a strong bond with his people. His favorite hobbies include squirrel watching/chasing, chewing tennis balls, and playing tag. He is an athletic guy who thrives with a yard and daily walks, but does great when left alone in his foster home. He naps and patiently awaits your return. He is an eager-to-please pooch that lives for praise and attention. Maroon is a smart dog who is curious but not mischievous. He is great at picking up on routines and cues and respects boundaries once he understands them. New situations can make him nervous sometimes, but once reassured, he is a friendly, wiggly dog who want to say hi to everyone. He is a great companion and has a lot of love to share. Maroon is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Please email adoptions@hshv.org or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a meeting today!

Story
Here is a note from Stans foster:Stan has claimed his space in my home and does great as an apartment dog. With routine, play, and learning tricks to keep him happy Stan has really become a goofy playful guy. He has been a great companion, calm and will absolutely communicate his needs with his voice through grumbles and grunts. He loves training sessions and doing tricks back to back. He loves tug of war and any stuffed animals toy. Bones and bully sticks are really fun for him too. Finally, he loves to nap away in my room when I am gone. He does enjoy sleeping on the bed, and will do his dog bed too.Stan doesn’t want to be pet all the time he will walk away, but he will take an ear rub for sure. He probably needs a family that will understand that! His love language is definitely activities and just calm presence over physical touch. Less people, and more connection and consistency is key for Stanny. Stanley is overall a fast learner, very clever, silly, and loving. He catches some sass if he isn’t receiving quality time from his humans. He is also very adaptive, in a few short months he was having zoomies and understanding our routine. ** Stan is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes! Adopting from foster is easy. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Twig, our newest resident at the Mikey & Me Kennels for Happy Days Rescue.  Twig is a smaller Boxer Mix with a beautiful brindled coat, he is estimated to be 2-3 years old, and he weighs about 30 pounds. Twig’s short life is a story of survival and he so very much deserves to be loved. Even when he was without food, he approached people nicely, looking for someone to help him.  Twig is slightly shy when meeting new people but quickly warms up and he looks up at you with his soulful brown eyes. He has a very sweet personality, he loves going outside for walks, and he is calm when walking by the other kennels. I believe he will make a loyal and loving companion for someone looking to reciprocate those qualities.  Twig has already had a physical exam, routine bloodwork, HW test, fecal exam, and he’s been fully vaccinated. All of his important tests were negative other than having to clean out his ears. He is scheduled to be neutered on Monday, June 29th.  If you’d like to meet Twig, please submit an adoption application under his name at  happydaysdogandcatrescue.org . Or a quick-meet application can be submitted at Mikeyandme.org.  Let’s work together to help this sweet boy find his person or family. I would recommend kids aged 12 and up only because he takes treats quickly. I’m teaching him “gentle“ and “take it nice” and he’s already learning to follow my lead. ❤️   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. **UPDATE**     Blaze is a ball of energy and a cuddle bug! On the go 24/7 and would be great in a home with lots of exercise and a big backyard to run and play. Due to his past, he is animal reactive and needs training and someone patient to work with him. His loves his canine brother and sister but will need supervised and slow introductions to any new dogs. He needs to be in a home with teens and up. He is a puppy always ready for a walk! He loves his toys and treats. His ball is his favorite toy! Blaze was found in freezing temps in the park, underweight and cold. He is around 9 months old. If you are an early bird, he is for you. Ready for zoomies and walks as soon as he is up and always ready to be active. Loves toys, treats, and attention. Best for kids 12 and up due to being hyper and jumping. Blaze is a smart boy and has already learned to sit within a week. He loves to cuddle with his fur siblings and play all day. Did I mention he loves to talk?! He has separation anxiety and a little bit of fear anxiety and will do well with a patient family who will have the time to spend with him and mostly be home or with him. Car rides can still be scary for him, so giving him short rides to get him used to it is helping. He is a jumper, so a fence in yard is preferable. He will be your shadow and give you lots of love!   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hello there! My name is Manny/Chip! I am the most handsomest Boxer/Lab mix ever!! And my personality is just as attractive! I was given a chance at a new life when Artemis pulled me from the pound – they were going to euthanize me, can you believe it?!?! Well, now I’m safe… and full of hope as I anxiously await that loving family that is out there for me. A little about me: * I was born around 9/04/21 * I weigh about 55lbs * I’m already neutered * I’m heartworm negative and UTD on vaccines and preventatives! * I LOVE playing ball and getting belly rubs. * Hanging out with my person is my most favorite thing * I promise – I would make you a GREAT canine buddy!! Please give me a chance to win your heart and become your best friend forever! I really need to find my new family… that very well may be you! Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. MICHIGAN RESIDENTS—>PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/TAP/2450-michigan-adoption Before we can change your new furbaby’s status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport. Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!

Story
Paddy is a boxer/terrier mix (est DOB 10/30/22) who weighs ~50 lbs, is fully vetted, heartworm negative, neutered, and current on all preventatives — translation: fully ready for his forever home. He came to Artemis with a little “swagger step.” A vet confirmed it’s from an old, un-treated fracture that healed wrong. Sad human decision in his past — but the cool part? Paddy turned it into his signature move. He’s not “handicapped.” He’s handi-capable. He just walks like he’s got rhythm. And it doesn’t slow him down one bit. Paddy is the friendliest lil cookie — super dog social, gentle, and respectful. He even naturally submits to dominant dogs. He’s the kind of dog who tries to get along with everyone. Paddy is eagerly waiting for his forever family… a soft couch… and a human or two who will finally choose him on purpose. Could that be you?
