Story
Hi my name is Stan! I am a shy kind of dog who is looking for a patient owner who is willing to give me time to adjust and open up in my new home. Once I get more comfortable, I will come out of my shell and start to show more of my true personality. If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an adoption survey online or in the shelter. I’m looking for a lowkey household without any young kids or cats so I can be your main focus. I can get nervous when I first meet someone, it’d be best for me to meet my potential dog siblings before I go home.Stan is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Please email adoptions@hshv.org or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a meeting today!

Story
Betsy is a FUN dog who loves to be with other dogs, maternal and bouncy. She is not aggressive or bossy but does have a bark and her terrier DNA comes out when meeting new smaller dogs. She has spent most of her time with bigger dogs and enjoys being the 'shortie' of the playgroup. Betsy is not food motivated, nibbles through the day, but has managed to become a bit fluffy. 50 lb dog now, she loves car rides, water! and sunbathing. Betsy is spayed, up to date on vaccines and very health - a bit fluffy as she has matured, now 4 years old. Her breed had been a guess until now! a donated DNA test revealed the classic Houston mutt mix of American Pit Bull Terrier, Lab, Boxer, German Shepherd, Shar Pei, Chow Chow. She is a short dog with medium double coat and a sharp mind. Adopt@CaffeinatedCanineRescueTx.org --------------------------------------------------- Visit our Social Media to see more of our dogs! https://www.facebook.com/CaffeinatedCanineRescueTX History: Betsy came to another rescue with nursing puppies in June of 2023. She has been fostered with kids, other dogs and in a house/apartment. She is crate trained and loves routine - literally bounces up and down, runs outside then back into her crate to nap. She would benefit from a yard due to her energy.

Story
3year old purebred boxer. Great with one other dog in the home. If you have multiple other dogs within the home she isnt the best fit for you as she is reactive with multiple other dogs. She is good with cats but does tend to chase until she's familiar with the cat. We recently lost our elderly male boxer and she had extreme separation anxiety being alone. So, ideally she would do best with a family who is home often or has ONE other dog in the home as a companion. She is potty trained and up to date on vaccines. She does require a lot of exercise and attention. She loves playing ball. Would need some training on new property on where she is allowed and isn't but does well without a fenced yard at our home.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Do you have tennis balls, like a lot of them, if not will you buy some? If your answer is yes than you might be the home for me! See I am simple girl but I do require lots of tennis balls!! I like other toys but nothing gets me as excited as having tennis balls! My foster says I am just a happy gal, that is good with all people even kiddos! I am house broken, but I may have had a couple accidents but I am still recovering from taking care of my 5 babies for the last several weeks. They all have found their forever homes and now it’s my turn. I was a great mom but my foster promised I never ever have to do it again, which sounds perfect to me! I really love my foster home. See, I also get alone time and have my own room, I have adults and kids who play fetch with me a few times a day. They all helped me get better on the leash, to come when I was called, I am actually even starting to learn how to settle down and watch TV. I would probably like to stay here but they have some big dogs here, I just don’t like when they get in my way. My foster thinks I will much prefer to be the only dog in a home.  I think that is true at least to start. The cats here don’t bother me. Did I mention my NEED for tennis balls, oh I did, okay. Well that’s all for now. Let lastdaydogrescue.org know if you want to meet me by filling out an application. &#226&#128&#139 &#226&#128&#139 Click here to watch a video of Pu Litter Eevee (Mom).Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. December 5, 2025, 9:06 pm

Story
Smokey is incredibly smart, loyal, and affectionate. He knows many commands (the basics, heel- not perfect, calm, roll over, paw). Currently working on crate training. Despite his playful, high-energy side, after his morning exercise, he loves to nap and relax during the day. Loves the snow, swimming, and if you can hang a rope from a tree he will be in heaven. Smokey gives the best hugs and snuggles. If you say "hugs" he will gently place his paws on your hips, and he loves resting his head against your neck for snuggles. He is reactive to other dogs on leash, but with an experienced, confident owner who understands his breed and continues training, he has a lot of potential. Great around people, needs a home with no young children. He does have allergies that require ongoing care, means to care for and take to regular vet appointment is important. Yearly blood work was just completed. All of Smokeys Gear will go with him, Crate, 2 beds, medication, food, toys, supplements.
