Cheeto is a 13, going on 14 year old Boxer/ Pug mix that was adopted when he was 1 year old. He's super cuddly and loves being by your side whenever possible. He does well with other dogs, no current or past problems with dogs or with cats, he currently has a brother and sister that are of the feline species and has been around kids of all ages his whole life. He enjoys walks but with his age, this is not something that needs to happen everyday. He is up to date on all of his shots and was neutered when he was a pup. He does have a few lumps and bumps but they have all been considered benign by his Vet. It is getting harder for him to get up and down stairs but he is still attempting to race up and down them every time. His perfect home would be with someone who is home most of the day and can let him outside when he needs. With his age, he is not able to hold his bladder as well but he is house trained since he was a pup. He is the perfect option for someone looking for a companion.

Nino is a friendly, loving 1 yo boxer mix. He is fully house-trained and can use a dog door. He knows how to sit and takes treats extremely politely. He loves approaching you for attention and often sits/sleeps nearby or against you. He gets along very well with other dogs and is simply curious about cats. He has done well in a crate. He rarely makes any noise, saving it for when other companion dogs start barking. He does well in the car and on walks (no leash pulling at all). He would be a great addition to any home. Location: Sioux Falls, SD Moxie is a young pup, but her foster mom thinks she is going to be a big girl! She has lots of puppy energy, so a home with a fence yard would be ideal for her. She can be loud when she wants out of her crate or let back in the house, so a house with no shared walls would be best. Moxie is playful and loves to wrestle with the other pups in the house, but when she is ready to crash, she crashes hard. Moxie is good with other dogs and cats. Older kids might be best as she is still learning manners, and she likes to jump, but her foster family is working on that. She is a complete snuggle bug at night. Potty training is a work-in-progress, but she is young and will learn. She has a stunning, unique look and her foster family is very curious of what breeds she is made up of. Meet Dutch, a stocky little hippo in dog form who is 100% convinced she was put on this earth to see ALL THE THINGS—and preferably as quickly as possible! This confident, enthusiastic girl walked into foster care like she owned the place and hasn’t looked back. She’s friendly, wiggly, loves everyone, and has never met a lap she didn’t want to climb into. Dutch is smart, strong, and FULL of personality. She’s potty trained, knows “sit” and “kennel,” takes treats politely, rides beautifully in the car, and can happily hang out in her kennel with a good chew while you’re away. She’s also been doing great in a home with several lower-energy dogs, although she’d love a canine buddy who can safely match her enthusiasm. Because she can be a little too enthusiastic about chasing smaller dogs, a home without small dogs is recommended for now. Dutch is also an enthusiastic alarm barker. When she sees something exciting—or someone she thinks might be a potential new best friend—she can make sure the entire neighborhood knows about it! Her big bark and excited wiggles might look intimidating to someone who doesn’t know dogs, but underneath it all, she’s usually just saying, “HI! ARE WE FRIENDS YET?!” She does settle quickly with direction, though. While at work with her foster, she was able to sit quietly and behave while her foster talked with a customer and was completely relaxed again in no time. Because of her vocal enthusiasm, a home without shared walls would likely be the best fit. This girl has energy to spare! Walks are still a work in progress—when Dutch gets going, that little tank can pull! She’ll need a family who enjoys training and wants to give her plenty of physical and mental outlets. Adventures, hikes, learning new skills, and maybe even some appropriate pulling activities could be right up her alley. Dutch is working on her manners, especially keeping all four feet on the floor. She adores her people and is absolutely convinced that personal space is optional. She’s been wonderful with her foster’s 8-year-old, but because she doesn’t quite realize how solid she is, a home with older kids is recommended. And then there’s her face. Those wrinkles, those expressions, and the occasional lip stuck on her teeth will keep you laughing. 😂 Dutch may be built like a tank, but underneath all that muscle is a very sweet girl who is simply thrilled to be out of the impound and back in a home. Dutch is looking for a confident, committed human who will give her clear boundaries, continued training, and plenty of opportunities to put her big personality and endless enthusiasm to work. Welcome Honey to CCPAL foster Program. Honey is a 3 year old Boxer mixed dog. She is potty trained. We think Honey survived the flood in Kerrville. A good samaritan has taken her in and is giving her good nutrition and love until we find her forever home. She was really scratched up and had a wound on her front left leg. She will be spayed soon and she is going to the vet again for a follow up on her leg. Our guess is it may have gotten broken and healed back on it’s own due to what she has gone through. She is good on a leash, very loving and bonds deeply. She lives with 5 cats right now but she is much too interested and we feel her best home would be without cats. She loves all people and no one is a stranger. She is good with dogs her size and is an energetic girl. Her best home would be with an active and ourdoorsy family that wants a great companion to join them in their outdoor fun. She is looking wonderful and filling out nicely in her new foster home. She lost some muscle around her bum area due to the length of time she was without food. Despite this, she would make an amazing family pet. She would love to be the only dog and be the center of her families attention. She weighs about 40 pounds and is a taller dog but medium weight. She is great in a car and would make a great dog in settings where lots of people are around. She is lower in shedding. She will be getting spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200.
