Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Cider is a loving and intelligent 3-month-old Boxer mix who adores being cuddled and staying close to her people. She’s a bright, affectionate puppy who learns quickly—so quickly, in fact, that she mastered the doggy door in just one day. Cider would make a wonderful companion for an individual or a family, thanks to her sweet temperament and eagerness to bond. Like most puppies her age, she’s going through a teething phase and loves to chew, but with gentle correction and guidance she’s already learning what’s allowed and what’s not. With her affectionate nature, sharp mind, and cuddly personality, Cider is sure to grow into an amazing, loyal family dog. Whoever adopts her will be gaining a smart, loving best friend. Cider  is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.* If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 2, 2025, 10:00 pm

Story
Hi there, I’m Boomer Jr., but my foster mom calls me Boom! I’m about a year old Boxer mix and a total lovebug. I made my way to Minnesota all the way from North Carolina after a hurricane so the shelter there could help more pups in need. Now, I’m ready to find my forever home!   I’m the good boy—fully potty trained, kennel trained, and eager to learn. I’ve already mastered "sit," "lay down," and "get down," and I’m super food-motivated, so teaching me new tricks will be a breeze. I love making doggie friends, especially bigger ones, because sometimes I forget my size and play a little too hard with the tiny pups. I would need a home with another dog because I love to play!   I’m also great in the car—I’ll just curl up and relax while you drive. I do get a bit nervous around new people and might bark or growl at first, but give me a treat or two, and I’ll be your best friend in no time. Because of this, I’d do best in a home without small kids, as sometimes I am anxious.   I’m a playful guy with lots of energy, so a fenced yard would be perfect for me to zoom around in. I love my toys and love antlers and bones to chew on.    If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and fun companion, I’m your pup. I can’t wait to meet you and start our adventures together!    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:   $525.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 18, 2025, 10:31 pm

Story
Herman is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves everyone he meets. He has a big heart, a gentle spirit, and a playful side that makes him an absolute joy to have around. Whether he’s running around the yard, playing with toys, or soaking up attention from his people, Herman is always ready to bring a smile to your face. He loves kids and truly enjoys being part of a family. Herman is also house trained and crate trained, making him an easy and well-mannered companion in the home. At the end of the day, his favorite place to be is snuggled up in bed with you, soaking in all the love he can get. Herman would do best in a home without cats, but he makes up for it with how much he adores people. He’s playful, cuddly, and always ready for adventure or a nap — whatever you’re in the mood for. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal dog who gives his whole heart, Herman is your guy!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $450 plus taxJimmy is a friendly, playful boy with a heart as big as his smile! Jimmy coming to us from an overcrowded shelter where dogs were being doubled and even tripled up in kennels due to lack of space. Despite that rough start, Jimmy has kept his happy spirit and is ready for a fresh start in a loving home. He’s still young, so he’s got puppy energy and is learning about the world around him. Jimmy enjoys meeting new people, gets along well with other dogs, and would love a home where he can stretch his legs, play, and keep building confidence. Jimmy is looking for a family who will give him the time, patience, and love he deserves. In return, he’ll bring endless tail wags, cuddles, and companionship. Ready to give Jimmy the home he’s been waiting for? Update From The Vet:I wanted to send a little update on Jimmy. He has ectropion in both eyes, which means the eyelids roll outwards which is why he has that extra pink tissue showing. It typically is not something that needs to be corrected but we of course can't guarantee that it won't change in the future.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.
