Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Clover is delightful, affectionate and funny. Clover's estimated DOB is 3/18/21.  When she wants attention she does the sideways forward walk.  She is always the first to greet me in the morning.    Clover is completely housetrained.  She does not like the dark so needs encouragement to go out that last time at night.  She is comfortable in the kennel.  We had her in the kennel at night and during the day when she first arrived, but now we allow her to free roam.     Clover is a real lover.  If we are working in the office she will come and lay on the floor to keep us company.  Once when our granddaughter came over she had a scrape.  Clover came over and sat in her lap while she was crying and gave her a couple of licks on the face to wipe away the tears.  The granddaughter felt much better very quickly.  One of Clover's favorite activities is getting a belly rub - she will lay there for quite awhile.    We have 2 large resident dogs and she plays well with them.  We do not have a cat so cannot say how she would do with one.  Given her prey drive for squirrels and bunnies when we go for a walk I am guessing it would be a no go for a cat.   Clover has been through a lot in her life and is now waiting for her forever home. She has been a mama, had multiple surgeries such as; tail amputations from her "happy tails," a surgery for an intestinal obstruction and surgery to repair her knee! She is fully healed from her most recent surgery and is ready to find a home. Would Clover make a great addition to your family?  Fill out the application and we can talk more.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.I was recently rescued from a puppy mill and am getting more confident each day in my foster home. I’m am learning how to be a dog by practicing walking on a leash, having time in the kennel and going potty outside (no accidents in the house so far!). Right now, I only feel comfortable eating in my kennel and not sure about treats yet. I am timid and still get spooked when new surroundings or noises catch me off guard. I do well with all the people but have not had the chance to meet any kids.  I am friendly with the resident dog although I’m not sure how to play quite yet.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 9, 2023, 7:53 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.10-25-23 Meet Magoo aka Magoodber: the sweetest boy there ever was. Likes: Following my foster mom everywhere she goes Lap snuggles Playing with my foster brother Staring out the window for hours at a time Gently smelling the cats even though they hate me Dislikes: Loud noises Fast movements The armrest that stops me from crowling into my fost mom's lap The kennel I seem to have had a rough life because I am often scared of my own shadow and may flinch when you go to pet me.  I take a little while to warm up to people but when I do, I love you completely.  I would do best in a quiet household that has another dog for me to play with, but without small children.  I currently live with four resident cats and do great with them.  I wish they would let me be their best friend but they won't let me join their  club.  I have zero food aggression and sometimes the resident cat rests his head beside my bowl while I'm eating.  I don't have a lot of experience with stairs and can sometimes be nervous about going through doorways.  So please be patient with me because sometimes they are extra scary.  I don't fully understand going into the kennel so I usually have to be bribed with a treat but I'm very quiet when I'm in there.  I don't get into things and I'm usually allowed to roam the house freely overnight.  I never eat the cat food that's sitting out because I'm such a good boy.  If you have a little bit of patience and can allow me time to get comfortable I would be the greatest companion ever.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 9, 2023, 7:53 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.NEW TO RESCUE 10.22 23 Linden is a 1 year old (turned one in August) gorgeous male boxer that may or may not have lived inside. He needs work on leash, but is a LOVE BUG. He is a young boxer so has a lot of energy and will need good amounts of exercise. He loves to run and to play with other dogs. He is TOO interested in cats so would be best in a home with no cats. He may have some food resource guarding so should be fed separate from other dogs. He was with and without food for some time so this is not his fault!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 9, 2023, 7:53 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hey friends, I'm Cooper! I'm an awesome boy with quite a story. Pull up a chair and let's read about me. I was surrendered to MNBR in June because my owner got a job promotion with a lot of travel and wasn't going to be able to care for me. I basically was going to be kenneled three weeks out of the month so my owner did the right thing by surrendering me. I took the long journey from Michigan to my foster home in Minnesota. My foster home included parents and a small dog companion to play with. I did really well there. I was pretty perfect at their house actually and considered 'move- in ready'. I was just your average 2.5yo boxer boy. I was soon adopted by a really nice couple. Turns out, my perfect behavior in my foster home was me putting on a front. Deep down I was really insecure. The more comfortable I became with my new parents, the more comfortable I felt trying to communicate my insecurities, fears and anxieties. As you know, a dog communicates with their eyes, body language, growling, etc. One day, the constant barking from the neighbor's dogs got the best of me and I shamefully lost my little mind. In my attempt to jump the fence, my mom grabbed me (as one does), and when my tootsies got back to the ground I grabbed my mom's arm. I let go but then grabbed the other one and didn't want to let go. Luckily, she was wearing a sweatshirt and I didn't bite through it, but she did have bruising and naturally, the whole incident scared her. My parents called the rescue and back I came. They are good people so no hate; I just needed professional help. I've been in a board & train the last few months getting the help I needed. I've learned that I love routine. If I know what to exepect and the steps I need to take to complete a task, my insecurities are at bay. I've learned I don't like other dogs if they're in my face barking or pawing at me and very hyper. I prefer calm dogs that don't peer pressure me into an activity I'm uncomfortable with and just purely are there to co-exist. I've learned I don't like raised voices, please no yelling as it scares me. I've learned that just because I don't know someone I shouldn't assume they're going to do me harm and I don't need to bark at them. What can I say, I'm a sensitive, emotional guy.My ideal owner truly loves rescue dogs and all that we have to offer. My ideal owner provides a daily routine, physical exercise, and healthy, mental stimulation. My ideal owner is willing to set boundaries for me and also learn my boundaries. My ideal owner will respect me, not baby me. And last but not least, my ideal owner is willing to learn my communication style and be attentive to it so we can both be successful in our relationship. Most relationships fail for poor communication, am I right?  My ideal home has a yard and is quiet.  And if I'm being honest, my ideal home is probably me as the only pet, but maybe has a friend with a calm, unobtrusive, walking buddy that we meet up with from time to time. Can you give me a chance? If we're being real, aren't we all a little screwed up, insecure, and grossly imperfect? And don't we all need that beastie who is there for us celebrating our wins and calling us out on our crazy? *Cooper will come with transition sessions with his trainer to help make sure he has a successful transition to his new home as well as being able to communicate with the trainer before meeting Cooper. We love him and are ecstatic he is ready to find his forever family! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 9, 2023, 7:53 pm

I'm good with dogs - I love with my parents and half sister. I've never met a cat. I'm house-trained and crate trained (eat in my crate). I'm easy to groom, love car rides, and like snuggles. I'm fantastic on a leash for walks.
