Story
If you love outdoor adventures Wallace is the dog for you. This 2–3-year-old Boxer/Hound sweetheart is an active boy– he loves hiking on the trails, running in the snow, splashing in the water – it’s all good with him. He walks well on leash, and actually loves to lead the way, which is really sweet. Oh, and he loves riding in the car, especially if its for a pup cup! At 77 pounds Wallace is a big guy but is as gentle and affectionate as could be. He is very intelligent, a good learner and has a strong desire to please his people. He loves to play but also settles down easily. And while he sleeps through the night on his bed, he would always prefer to share yours if given the chance. Wallace is currently in foster, where he is doing great, but he is waiting eagerly to find his forever home. He is looking for an experienced owner to guide him and be his best friend. He would do best in a home with adults or older kids who can manage his size and energy, and while he plays well with other dogs, should be the only dog in the home. Also on his wish list... a yard where he can explore and stretch his legs! In return for all of that he promises to give back with loads of love and lots of loyalty. Kindhearted Wallace just can't wait to find that forever family who will appreciate how truly special he is! Could it be you? Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
There are some things in rescue work that are simply impossible to understand. One of those things is how anyone could throw a big, beautiful black Boxer from a moving truck and drive away.   But that is how Troy’s story began. On a quiet country road, good people working in their yard witnessed the unthinkable. They saw a truck slow down just enough to push this large dog out onto the pavement. He hit the ground on his head, dazed and bleeding, while the truck sped off without a second glance. Confused and hurting, Troy didn’t know who to trust. It took time, patience, and soft reassurance before he would allow those same strangers to help him. When he finally climbed into their backseat, his big, injured head rested in his rescuer’s lap the entire drive — seeking comfort even after such betrayal.   Physically, Troy has healed well. His wounds have closed and his strength has returned. But emotionally, you can still see that he is waiting for someone to prove that he is safe… truly safe… forever. And here is the remarkable part — Troy is an exceptional dog.   He is sweet, obedient, and wonderfully behaved in the home. He does not dig, does not climb fences, and respects his space. He wants structure, kindness, and someone to belong to. While he can coexist with some larger dogs, he would truly flourish as the only dog in the home where he doesn’t have to compete for affection. Cats are not a good match for him. A securely fenced yard would give him the freedom to stretch his legs and enjoy life while feeling protected. Troy doesn’t need pity. He needs commitment. He needs a Boxer lover who understands the loyalty and devotion this breed gives and who is ready to return that devotion tenfold. Someone who will look into his soulful eyes and promise that he will never again be discarded or unwanted. We have helped him start over. Now we are praying the right person will step forward and give him the stable, joyful future he deserves.   If you believe you could be that person for Troy, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com     PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 10, 2026, 1:47 pm

Story
Big Boy. Big Heart. Big Cuddles. Meet Bear.   Bear is the kind of dog people dream about finding. He’s healthy, well-mannered, deeply loyal, and full of love—he simply needs a new home because his family is relocating and sadly cannot take him with them.Born August 25, 2023, this handsome 90-pound Boxer boy is the total package. His parents are AKC registered Boxers, and while Bear isn’t registered himself, he has all the best qualities of the breed. He is neutered, microchipped, fully housebroken, and wonderfully smart. Bear will even let you know when it’s time to go outside—or when bedtime has arrived.   Bear’s personality is where he truly shines. Every morning starts the same way: a giant Bear hug. He absolutely adores his family and believes the best place in the world is curled up close to his favorite humans. Despite his size, he is convinced he’s a lap dog and will happily drape himself across you for cuddle time.   While he loves his family endlessly, Bear is a little reserved when meeting new people and likes to take things slow. Busy environments and crowded stores aren’t really his style. He currently lives on a farm and enjoys the calmer side of life where he can focus on what matters most—his people.   With other dogs, Bear is a social butterfly. He enjoys canine friends and especially loves playing chase in the yard or at the dog park. Toys aren’t really his thing, but he will occasionally chew on a bone and then happily stretch out on his bed for a long nap.   Bear is great with children and other dogs, listens well, and already knows his basic commands. He rides nicely in the car and enjoys going on walks with his family.   At the end of the day, Bear is exactly what his name suggests—a big, lovable teddy bear who thrives on companionship and loyalty. The perfect home for Bear will appreciate his affectionate nature, give him time to warm up to new people, and enjoy having a devoted best friend by their side.   If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a huge heart and an even bigger cuddle factor, Bear may be the perfect dog for you.   To learn more or apply to adopt Bear, please emailCritter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 11, 2026, 12:09 am

Story
Ruthie is a 2-year-old, 60-lb Boxer mix with a gentle soul and a brilliant mind. Before coming into rescue, Ruthie lived on her own for at least 6 months, skillfully evading capture, multiple trapping attempts, and surviving in an industrial area of town. Fed by kind mechanics and workers, she learned how to stay safe, avoid danger, and always show up for food — and that intelligence still shines through today. After a dramatic capture, Ruthie has been in a foster home, where she’s proven to be a very polite houseguest. She is fully house-trained and, even at her scariest moments, has never shown a hint of aggression — no growling, no raised lips, just fear. Ruthie is shy and deeply cautious with people, but she is sweet, gentle, and incredibly observant. We would not be surprised if Ruthie spent some of her life in someone’s home.  This brainy girl reads the room like a pro. She knows when a human might approach and will quietly skedaddle to keep herself feeling safe. While she’s still very nervous about leashes and handling, she allows most people to gently scratch her muzzle, and she’s learning — slowly but surely — that human touch isn’t such a bad thing. Watching her progress has been incredibly rewarding, especially as she’s started to enjoy ear scratches and soft affection from her foster mom. Ruthie is a great pack dog. She does beautifully with dogs of all sizes and temperaments and enjoys playful wrestling with dogs her size, but doesn’t demand play.  She happily coexists with the resident Chihuahua in her foster home. Ruthie is calm and content indoors and also enjoys a daily visit to the dog park. She’s a quiet presence who’s perfectly happy lounging on a chair, listening to her foster mom’s Zoom calls, and soaking in the safety of home life. At home, Ruthie is her foster mom’s quiet shadow. She sleeps in her room, wiggles with excitement when she comes home, follows her around the dog park — and yet may still hop off her bed and slip away if that same foster mom walks toward her for a pet. With Ruthie, trust is built in tiny, meaningful moments, and every day brings progress. Because of her history, Ruthie is a high flight-risk dog, especially in the early days. She will need a very committed adopter with a securely fenced yard, experience with fearful or flight-risk dogs, and a willingness to use safety tools like GPS collars, double leashes, and secure handling. Strength matters too — this is a 60-lb girl who needs someone confident and prepared. Ruthie has been around children at the dog park and treats them like little adults — with polite, reserved hesitation. She is food-motivated, sweet, and incredibly smart. With patience, structure, and time, she has all the makings of a truly special companion. Ruthie is one of those dogs who, with the right adopter and a few committed months of trust-building, will become a dream dog. Watching her finally relax, feel safe, and just be a dog has been an absolute privilege — and we can’t wait to see her find the forever home she deserves. ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
Meet Bama – the life of the party with a heart full of love. Born August 5, 2023, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Bama is a young Boxer boy bursting with personality. Both of his parents are AKC registered Boxers, though Bama himself is not registered. He is neutered, microchipped, and ready to find a family that will appreciate his fun-loving spirit. Bama is the definition of playful. Toys are his absolute favorite, and he will happily chase balls, retrieve chew toys, and keep the fun going as long as someone is willing to play along. If you enjoy an interactive, energetic dog who loves games, Bama will be right by your side. This happy boy is also incredibly social. Bama truly has never met a stranger and believes everyone he sees might be a new friend—especially children, whom he absolutely adores. His excitement sometimes means he’ll jump up to greet you, but he is very smart and listens well when given direction. Walks are another one of Bama’s favorite activities, particularly when he can take his time exploring and sniffing everything along the way. He’s curious, engaged, and loves discovering the world beside his people. Bama also has a classic case of FOMO—fear of missing out. Wherever you are, that’s where he wants to be. He likes to keep an eye on things just in case something exciting is happening… or maybe a treat might appear.      With his wagging tail, playful personality, and loyal heart, Bama is a joyful companion who will bring energy, laughter, and love into the right home.
