**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Ohshi. I'm about 7 years old and I weigh about 55 lbs. I was brought into the pound after hours and left in one of the kennels here after our owners were in a dispute. They are currently separated and in legal battles. There is a lot of he said- she said, so the whole truth is really hard to determine. What is known is that me and my friend were left here in kennels after hours and were later identified by one of our owners. Unfortunately, although that person would love to have me back home, they are now displaced and in a place where they cannot currently own animals, so I now have to look for a new family to join. I'm a little timid and standoffish sometimes when I meet new people. I am VERY sweet, friendly and affectionate with all of the staff and volunteers now that I know all of them. I get very protective of my home and family and would do a great job of helping you feel safe. I am housebroken and crate trained and a really good girl inside. I LOVE to play with toys and I am a very funny girl to watch. I like going for walks and just spending time with my people. I do best if I'm walked on a harness as I have a collapsing trachea. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Story
We’ve had Scooby for about a year and a half. We got him when he was six months old from a breeder. He’s somewhat house trained, and will go outside when you take him. But, he will not let you know in any way that he needs to go outside. He’ll just go inside somewhere.I feel like when we got him, the breeder wasn’t working with him to go outside, so we were kind of late in the game with house training him. He is good with everybody, he’s very lovable. He’s a sweet boy and I don’t feel like I have the time to give him what he needs. I work long hours, and my daughter has special needs. She’s often home alone with him, and she doesn’t take care of him like she should. Sometimes she forgets to take him outside, so then he has a mess. I have a special kennel that has a grate in it, so if he urinates, it drips down into a tray. Otherwise, he would per in the kennel.

Story
Hi there… I’m Mr. Chaos! (But don’t worry—the name is totally misleading.) I know what you’re thinking: “Chaos?” That sounds like a lot. But here’s the truth- I’m actually a laid-back, snuggly senior gentleman with a big heart and even bigger love for couch time.I’m 9 years old, which means I’ve mastered the important things in life: relaxing, appreciating snacks, and soaking up every cuddle I can get. My family recently went through a split, and I found myself here at the shelter, patiently waiting for my next chapter. It’s been a little confusing at first, but every day I’m getting more comfortable and showing the staff just how sweet I really am.They’ve learned that I’m a pretty simple guy. Give me a cozy spot, some kind words, and maybe a few snacks, and I’m one happy pup. My favorites? Peanut butter (obviously), carrots, and green beans. If you happen to bring snacks, I promise to love you forever. I also come with some great house manners! I’m crate trained and housebroken, so I already know the ropes when it comes to living in a home.I’d prefer to be the only dog in the house so I can soak up all your attention. I did live with other dogs before, but here at the shelter I’ve decided I’d rather skip the dog park drama. The good news? I’ve lived with cats and kids ages 6+, and my previous family said I did great with them.Mostly, I’m just looking for a peaceful home where I can trade my “Chaos” reputation for what I really love: quiet companionship, warm snuggles, and being your loyal best friend. If you’ve got a comfy couch and room in your heart for a sweet senior like me, I’d love to meet you. I’ll be the handsome guy waiting with a wagging tail and a snuggle ready to go.Love,Mr. Chaos If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog`s better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict.I am a senior dog that is eligible for the Senior 2 Senior Adoption Program! The Adoption Fee Includes:- initial canine distemper combination vaccination- first worming or stool

Story
Meet  Matcha Age: estimated around 1-2 years old.   Weight: 40 lbs. Breed: boxer mix.  This sweet girl was found abandoned in a car with another dog and was dangerously underweight. Luckily, she was found, gained some weight and she’s now learning what a good life looks like.  Even with her rough start to life she’s still a very happy, loving, carefree pup. Matcha loves playing with other dogs and snuggling on the couch. She’s obsessed with toys, anything with a squeaker (or that she can destroy) is her favorite.  She doesn’t love the vet and can sometimes be a little unsure of new people but once she’s claimed you as her person say goodbye to personal space. Matcha is also crate trained and potty trained but she thinks baby gates are her own personal hurdles to jump.  Matcha would probably do best in a home with older children due to some of her puppy tendencies and another dog would be great but isn’t required. If you feel capable of giving Matcha a fraction of the love she’ll give you, please fill out an application to meet this sweet girl so she can finally have a loving family of her own. Matcha is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, and current on heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. Matcha's adoption fee is $250. Ready to Make Matcha part of your family? Story
Meet Lydia! This 7-year-old boxer mix is the perfect blend of wiggles, smiles, and sweetness! Lydia has all the classic boxer charm — she’s friendly, affectionate, and full of happy energy. Lydia weighs just under 60 pounds. Lydia loves people of all ages and is always ready to make new friends. Whether she’s at the vet or out at an event, she’s a social butterfly who wins hearts everywhere she goes. She’ll sit patiently for pets and might let out a soft little whimper if she thinks she’s being ignored — she just loves attention that much! Lydia gets along well with the male dogs she’s met and the puppies in her foster home. She can be selective with female dogs, and her reaction to cats is unknown. She’s both crate trained and housebroken, making her an easy addition to your home routine. Before joining Rescue330, Lydia was living outside in West Virginia. Thanks to some kind rescuers, she’s now safe, loved, and ready for her forever home. She’s received excellent veterinary care, including being spayed and having some masses removed. Lydia doesn't let anything slow her down and is one of the most loving and happy dogs you will ever meet! Lydia is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and current on heartworm and flea prevention. Her adoption fee is $200. Apply today at www.rescue330.org to make this sweet, smiley girl part of your family! ##2511861##

Story
INTAKE DATE: 3/13/24 TRANSFER FROM MAHONING COUNTY POUNDCURRENT WEIGHT: 62 LBSDon`t be deceived by the plain brown wrapper - Jimmy is just bursting with potential, energy and the joy of just being alive! Jimmy is a 2 1/2 year old male Pit Bull Terrier mix who currently weighs in at about 65 pounds. We would never say that Jimmy is chubby, but....maybe a little fluffy? He is an athletic boy who has the smarts and just needs and experienced dog owner to help him reach his potential. He is very toy and food driven, and would benefit greatly from a home where someone takes those drives and uses them to help Jimmy be all he can be. Obedience classes are going to be a must for this kid - he hasn`t ever had the chance to have someone seriously spend time with him and help him learn how to be the best boy. Jimmy has been at Angels for nearly 18 months - a little more than half of his life. He would do best in an adult only, single animal home.

She honestly didn`t have any problems at her first home EXCEPT she would prefer to be your one and only. Otherwise, she is a dream girl. Housetrained and smart, Kira loves to do doggie puzzles, walk you on a leash and snuggle beside you on her bed. If you are looking for a spicy sweet sidekick on the couch, come and check out Kira.

Although Olaf loves every person he meets, he is learning to share his things and would do best in a home with teens and up. Olaf loves playing with the other dogs here at the shelter, but should meet new canine companions one-on-one to ensure they are a good match. Sweet Olaf is an affectionate boy who loves to give kisses! This pup will require guidance and supervision learning to use the bathroom outside only, but our staff can give you tips to help with this.
