Meet Dixie! This beautiful lady has become a bit of a local celebrity; known for her frequent shelter visits and sightings on social media. Unfortunately Dixie's previous family struggled to keep her contained, and on Dixie's most recent visit to the shelter they chose not to reclaim her. While Dixie has been a bit of an escape artist in the past, we believe with a secure fence and supervision she is not going to be quite the Houdini. Dixie is ready to put her life of puppies, running, and shelter stays behind her. She is well loved by staff and known for her wonderful personality; everyone that meets Dixie remarks on just how sweet and loving she is! Dixie enjoys being with people and would love an affectionate, semi-active family. She loves children and has been the perfect mix of gentle and playful. I’m an athletic, enthusiastic, and curious puppy who loves watching, learning, exploring, and being part of the action. I’m good with dogs, cats, and kids. I currently live with other dogs of different sizes and two cats, and I do well with everyone. Since I’m still young, I’m working on house training and leash walking, and I do need to be crated when left alone for short periods of time. I’m also learning that when the bells on the door ring, it’s time to go outside. I love toys — especially anything that squeaks! In the morning, I like to pull squeaky toys from the toy bin and carry them to my favorite spot on the couch. I also love playing in the kiddy pool, splashing my paws, fishing toys out of the water, and carrying them around the yard. When I get excited, I love to zoom around in big, fast circles. I’m a strong, muscular little girl with impressive jumping skills, and I’ve even tried to parkour my way through flower pots and across the garden. I’m playful and busy, so while I don’t mind being held or carried, I usually have places to go, toys to play with, and adventures to start. I’m affectionate too! I love couch cuddles and especially like to be the big spoon, nosing my way between my person and the back of the couch so I can snuggle in close. I’m also attentive and take cues from my people. If another dog barks at something outside, I look to my foster dad first to see how he reacts. I like to taste-test treats before fully committing, but cream cheese was a big hit when it came time to take my monthly flea, tick, and heartworm pill. Finn is officially ready to find his forever home - and we’re going to be thoughtful about where he lands, because this boy is something special. When Finn came to us, he was severely underweight and had very little fur. It was clear he hadn’t had the care he deserved. Fast forward to today, and he’s a completely different dog. He’s nearly at his ideal weight, his coat is growing back beautifully, and most importantly - his personality shines. He is truly the best boy. Gentle, loving, and the kind of dog that just wants to be close to his people. Finn does have allergies, and we want to be transparent about that. We have completed full allergy testing and can provide a detailed report. He has already started immunotherapy along with additional medications, and he’s responding well. His future family will need to be committed to continuing that care so he can keep thriving. We’re looking for a home that will: • Prioritize his health needs • Provide consistency and stability • Give him the love and attention he’s been missing In return, Finn will give you everything.
