Story
Meet Steel! She is a loving 18 month female 55 lb boxer mix who is smart, kind, and loves to play with toys! She is a little timid at first, but once she gets to know you she'll be sleeping on the couch next to you in no time! She is very smart and knows how to sit, stay, down, off, and leave it. She is house broken and loves to hang outside! She is working on her walking without pulling and we have 3 extra training sessions available to the adopter at no additional charge! While she loves people, Steel is not sure about other dogs. Some dogs make her nervous and upset, others she wants to play. On walks, she knows to "leave it" and continue on her way, but she must be in a home where there are no other pets as she does not get along with them. She has been around young kids and babies socially and has had no issue. Typically, she doesn't act interested and leaves them alone. Her ideal home would have a fenced yard since that is what she is used to.

Story
Gypsy is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. Gypsy is a very good girl and is the most obedient dog I have ever seen. She knows how to sit and comes when called. She is housetrained and very well behaved in the house. She likes her crate and sleeps in it with the door open. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a vehicle. Gypsy loves her toys, especially squeaky ones, and she loves playing fetch. Gypsy is active - she loves to run and play with toys and other dogs. She loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot, and we bet she would love snow. She gets excited about squirrels, cats, and critters on the other side of the fence. Gypsy does well with all dogs but gets along best with male dogs. She is normally good around small dogs but occasionally mistakes one for a toy when she is over-excited. So she is not recommended for homes with small dogs. She is not too fond of puppies getting in her face either. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with children. She could perhaps use more obedience training with someone firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is very sweet. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. She must be in the house as a loved family member, and she needs a yard with a 6' fence to run and play. Gypsy came from a bad home. She was not being fed and was severely underweight. So the people surrendered Gypsy and her puppies to animal control to avoid animal cruelty charges. Gypsys DNA test results are mostly Boxer, Husky, and German Shepherd. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited and we now know that comes from the Boxer in her. Gypsy is around 5 years of age and weighs 70 pounds (she only weighed 35 pounds when we got her). Gypsy is healthy. She is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. We used the slow-kill method (we are happy to explain this) and she is now negative for heartworms and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gypsy's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Columbus, Cincinnati, or Akron Ohio. She is located in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted. Story
Apollo is a 3-year-old purebred boxer. We unfortunately have to get rid of him because our landlord/owner of our home does not like dogs. He has received all vaccinations but needs checkup for more. He is neutered and he has been both an inside and outside dog. Good with other house pets. Not good with random animals (including dogs/cats). Doesn't attack friendly visitors in the home. He is a guard dog though, so any human or animal that tries to threaten or fight him (not play fighting), he will fight back. He has never attacked his own family. He loves to run, play tag, or play box. He has a lot of energy, but he hasn't been able to much due to our new living conditions. Needs lots of space to run and play, attention etc. Must be rehomed by Wednesday, May 22nd.

Story
Bixby is a sweet dog that I adopted from a shelter several years ago. He is approximately 5 years old and around 65 lbs. I am not able to care for Bixby and exercise him the way he needs on walks. His main behavior issue is pulling on walks and lunging- although he is generally friendly with other dogs. I don't have the right home for a large dog and physically can not handle him. I’m looking to rehome asap.

Story
Trixx came from a rural shelter with little chance of finding a home. She is a young girl with lots of love to give. She likes to go on walks, loves her chew toys, is housebroken and crate trained. She is 1 year old and full grown at 35 pounds. She is in foster with cats and when they swat her she knows to leave them alone. She likes to play with the big dogs but plays a bit too rough for smaller dogs or timid cats. If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process.  Due to the large number of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.    May 24, 2024, 12:03 am

Story
LOOK AT THIS PUPPY!!!!! SERIOUSLY😳 true most dreamy eyes on this planet. And do they get any more beautiful than this ????!!!!!! You're probably still mesmerized by those eyes, and we wouldn't blame you!Precious! The only way to describe this little girl. You can imagine as a very young puppy there's not a lot of history to share. We can tell you that he was born in our care, along with her siblings, and that her mom is a stunning black lab. We have named her Raven and she's very sweet. They have been separated from mom and are ready to find their new forever families. They are currently being fostered by Michele in Memphis, Tn. She has a has full of activity, comings and goings so the puppies are super well socialized and used to just about anything. Once an application has been submitted and approved, she would be happy to speak with you about him. Once adopted, she will travel via Rescue Vet Transport to his new forever family. They travel each weekend, leaving Memphis, Tennessee, Friday mornings around 6 AM and traveling as far north as west Greenwich, Rhode Island, making steps along the way delivering newly adopted pets. Transport is an additional $185. Once they get on the road, they start a group chat with the two drivers and everyone who has A Pet on board. If you would like to make this adorable ball of cuteness part of your family. Please follow the link below to our adoption application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9
