Story
Name: Timmy Gender: Male Age: 1 year Current Weight: 61 lbs (and has been working to put on weight in his foster home since coming to us extremely emaciated) Expected Adult Size: Large (50-100 lbs) Breed: Boxer mix Energy Level: Medium-High Dog Friendly: Yes, and requires another dog in the home Cat Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes, any age Apartment Friendly: No Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence not required, but preferred Crate Trained: Crate trained but he's free in the house, hasn't been in a crate since we first had him Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home/Adopter: Timmy would thrive in home with a confident, playful dog sibling and fenced in yard. Timmy needs a lot of exercise and someone who is committed to walking and exercising him multiple times/day. Timmy has chewed plants and shoes when left too long or when he doesn't get enough activity, so he needs a home where he's not left for too long. Likes: Timmy loves everything. He's the sweetest, loviest boy. Absolutely LOVES to cuddle and be as close to his humans as possible. He wants to play all day and has very good boundaries when meeting and playing with dogs. He loves sniffing around the yard trying to catch squirrels and will take as many walks as he can get. He's very gentle natured but can play a little rough because he's a big puppy, but he means no harm. Dislikes: He doesn't like being left for long periods or going without exercise/playing for too long or he'll start chewing shoes and plants. Having foster sisters gives him a lot of comfort. What makes this dog special: Despite what Timmy has been through, he's the happiest, most loving, trusting dog that lives to please and play. He's happy as long as he's playing and with his human. Timmy's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting Timmy, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##1494138##

Name: Georgie Gender: Female Age: 2 years Current Weight: 45 lbs Breed: Boxer/Dane Energy Level: Low-medium Dog Friendly: yes, with slow intros Cat Friendly: No Kid Friendly: Yes, older kids Apartment Friendly: No Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence preferred Crate & Potty Trained: Yes Likes: playing with toys, giving kisses, naps Dislikes: Lots of noise Hello, I'm Georgie!  I'm about 2 years old and 45 lb.    I'm the absolute sweetest girl, but I really don't like loud noises and chaos.  I'm a little unsure with new people, so a nice quiet home would be ideal for me.  However, I warm up pretty fast and once I do, you're in, so be prepared for some puppy kisses.  Also, I'm a pretty chill girl.  I know I'm only 2, but I really love my naps.  Don't get me wrong, I like my tennis balls and a good squeak toy, but nothing beats a good old, all-sprawled-out nap!  If you're looking for a nice companion and don't mind helping me out in new situations, I could be the one for you.  Pretty much everyone who meets me falls in love once I wow them with my charms, so you should apply now.  My adoption fee is $350 and you can apply at www.rescuedohio.org.  ##905723##

Story
Spuds is much like his TV personality namesake! He is outgoing and friendly and loves to be the center of attention. With a sweet face like that how could you not? Spuds is a little more on the dominant end of the spectrum so would do best in a house with a more submissive dog. He would likely chase a cat if it ran from him but we think he should be OK with a dog-savvy cat. Available for virtual 'meet and greet'. Please visit www.dixieadoptbles.org for our adoption application. We are located in South Mississippi, but have a transport that travels regularly (every 3 to 4 weeks) up the East coast and to Ohio with pre-adopted animals.Dixie Adoptables is one of many shelters working to get animals out of the area where shelters are always full, and adoptions of the sweet babies are hard to come by. We are grateful to every person that chooses to adopt and give a home to a loving animal, whose only fault was being born in a part of the country where their value is underappreciated and spay/neuter is done far too infrequently.

JR is a busy boy that loves exploring the world. He has a good nose and enjoys sniffing all those wonderful scents in the woods. He is a friendly little guy to people but is more dominant with other dogs. He is far too interested in cats so he needs to go to a no-cat home. Available for virtual 'meet and greet'. Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Here is our 'Ole Mama' Brooklyn in all of her glory! She's been with our family since she was 4yrs old when we were fortunate enough to adopt her from a friend moving to California. She's been well trained on numerous commands and is crate trained. List of commands and Crate will be included. Brooke does well on leash by collar or harness and LOVES to be off leash and running! She loves the water but doesn't like swimming. Brooke does her best with experienced dog owners and older kids (12yrs and older). Though she has never been a danger to young children, as she's gotten older doesn't always do well with toddler energy and may often wish to be in a more isolated area. She does well with other dogs but often retreats from too much puppy energy just as she would with toddlers. She has never been around cats. We are really hoping to find Brooke a GREAT home & preferably one that loves a BIG lap dog. ESA Certified (2023/24) Permanent Licencse (Franklin Co.)

Story
Petunia is such a sweet cuddle bug who has the cutest playful side and is still learning all about the world. She loves playing with chew toys, does great in her crate overnight, loves exploring on walks, and wants to greet every person she meets with a huge kiss. She is learning to trust other dogs, but warms up after she knows they are safe and friendly. A doggie daycare would be a great place to help her gain her confidence! She will also need training on her basic commands, including potty training. But don’t worry, she’s a quick learner! She is looking for an active family who will take her on lots of walks and give her plenty of exercise. She loves taking walks and loves being out and about exploring the outside world and I getting more comfortable each day! She would be an awesome doggie daycare dog. She would love her new family to enroll her to have a lot of play time with other dogs. She is a smart girl and is showing progress each day learning a lot! She is working on her puppy commands and manners. She will need a patient, consistent family to continue her training. She will ready for puppy classes when she is adopted and fully vaccinated. We HIGHLY encourage obedience/behavior training for all of our pups once adopted into their forever homes. If you live an active lifestyle and are ready to bring this lovable girl into you home, please apply to meet her! Please fill out an adoption application at PetPromise.org We only adopt out in Columbus, Ohio area only. Adoption fee is $400

Story
Lana is a 11 year old pit mix pup looking to find her forever home.  She is both house broken and crate trained.  She is good with other dogs and would do best in a calm, kid free home. She would be best in a home rather than an apartment and would require a fenced in yard at her forever abode.  She likes taking long walks and also napping for just as long. She loves to play soccer and frisbee but doesn't like giving them back. She is a goofy girl who loves to snuggle (it's her favorite thing) and have lots of play time with all her human and furry friends at Camp Bow Wow! Lana's adoption fee is $195.  Apply today at rescuedohio.org to meet (and snuggle) with this sweet girl. ##1149955##

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Phoebe! If you're into snuggly pitties with giant heads, it doesn’t get much better than this. Phoebe has the largest head-to-body ratio we've ever seen. It's a real melon. She uses that velvet bowling ball to snuggle up close and give you kisses just for hanging out. In her perfect world, she spends 80% of her day cuddling and 20% destroying squeaky toys. Luckily she's still happy to play with those stuffy toys after the squeaker breaks, but a squeak is the quickest way for her to come running! Though she's only about 2 years old, Phoebe is very mellow. While she enjoys a walk or running around the back yard for a bit, she's not a dog that will require a lot of exercise. A few rounds of fetch will do just fine. She's more like a land seal, kicking her legs to the side and lounging around as you make dinner or watch tv. However, she is a brave warrior when the vacuum cleaner comes out. She has some mild hip dysplasia, but it's managed pretty easily with joint supplement chews. Her foster family alternates between walks and back yard play to make sure she’s getting enough exercise without overdoing it. We'd love if her forever family had a fence in yard so she can enjoy roaming around on her own. Phoebe has made it clear that she doesn’t want to share the spotlight with any other dogs, so she will need an owner that is comfortable owning a dog that doesn’t like other dogs. And because she would chase a squirrel to Mexico, we have a feeling cats would be a bad idea, though we haven’t tested it. Phoebe is wonderful with new humans (guests in the home, being handled by vets, etc.), but we think she will do best in an adult only home. Phoebe is a bit smaller than she looks in photos, but still weighs about 65lbs (we cannot imagine what that giant head must weigh). She does well for baths and nail trims and she's wonderful in the crate. She will sleep in her crate through the night or while you’re away with no issues. Phoebe has a very sweet disposition and becomes everyone's best pal. To meet her is to love her. While she may seem a little difficult on paper, she will be the most amazing addition to a laid back household that just wants a snuggle buddy. Approved applicants can email us directly to arrange a meet & greet, or you can apply to adopt at RESCUEDohio.org. ##1189045##

Story
Name: Sage Gender: Female Age: 11 months Current Weight: 35 lbs Expected Adult Size: Medium (25-50 lbs) Breed: Boxer Pit Bull Mix Energy Level: Medium-High Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog Cat Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes, any age Apartment Friendly: Yes Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Likes: She loves toys inside and her balls outside. Her favorite is a soccer ball that she can toss herself and chase. When she's inside, she always carries a stuffed toy around with her. She also loves to snuggle and if you sit down, she jumps up to join you and the snoring ensues moments later. She adores playing with her foster siblings and just wants to do what they are doing. Dislikes: She's not a hug fan of having her paws touched, but her foster family can trim her nails with treats and have been working on this a lot and she's getting better Ideal Home/Adopter: Sage loves her people, and she adores kids! We would love to see kiddos in her forever home, or at the very least people who are home often with her. What makes this dog special: Her under-bite is adorable, and it really comes out when she tilts her head, she is a doll. She is so smart and now does things before being given a command, like going into her crate or sitting while she waits for her food. She will be very easily trained. Her wiggle butt is fierce when you get home, she's always so excited to see you. She has amazing manners in the house, no chewing, can be left out of her crate, no accidents and really she just sleeps when you aren't home. She likes to play, but she also really enjoys her cuddle time. Sage's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting Sage, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##1620886##
