Story
Meet Hudy!    Hudy just graduated from our prison program and has really blossomed into an amazing dog! This 1 year old boxer mix is about 70 lbs and loves to follow you around, be in your lap, and give you kisses with his super soft muzzle.    Hudy knows his basic commands, is fully crate trained, housebroken, and walks beautifully on a leash. He needs at least an hour of exercise each day but he loves to go on walks, play fetch, chew on bones, etc, so it’s pretty easy to entertain him! His favorite toy is his jolly ball!    Hudy is currently living with other dogs (big and small) and cats, and is doing great with both. He is working through some mild resource guarding, but it’s very manageable and wanes the longer he spends with dogs he knows. He greets other dogs very appropriately and is not reactive on leash or off. He will need supervised when toys are present and fed separately until he gets comfortable with new dog friends/housemates. He has not been kid tested but we think he’ll be fine with older (sturdier) kids. He’s a big boy who doesn’t understand his size sometimes!    If you are interested in meeting Hudy, please submit an application on our website, www.prodogsohio.org/adoptables.    His adoption fee has been sponsored by a very generous donor. He’s located in NE Columbus.     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We appreciate your support, in order to help us continue to rescue dogs! Donations can be made via our PayPal account - info@prodogsohio.org. You must be willing to commute to the location that the pet is being fostered in order to be eligible to adopt. We do not ship our pets. We also require that you personally bring the pet back to us should the adoption not work out.   We do NOT negotiate adoption fees. All money goes to support our rescue operation. We are 100% volunteered based. We require your current dog(s) to be current on vaccines and heartworm prevention.  Apply online at www.prodogsohio.org, under the Adoptables tab. Due to the volume of apps and inquiries, we may not be able to respond to everyone.September 21, 2023, 7:53 pm

Story
Meet Jay! Gender: Male Age: 2 years Current Weight: 64 lbs Expected Adult Size: Large (51 - 100 lbs) Breed: Boxer Mix Energy Level: Low - Medium Dog Friendly: Dog selective, seems to be fine with most dogs, but doesn't like all Cat Friendly: Unknown Kid Friendly: Unknown Apartment Friendly: Yes Physical Fence Requirement: Not required Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Yes The vet thinks he’s about two years old and some sort of boxer or mastiff mix. He’s currently schedule to be neutered and he’s has a skin infection clear up after some antibiotics. His hair is expected to grow back, although it may be a while! Ideal Home/Adopter: Do you want a dog that’s a running partner? Are you looking for an adventure buddy to go for miles of hiking followed by a swim? If so, Jay would like you to pick someone else, because he’s a total couch potato! Jay can do short walks but he’s just as content sleeping on the couch for most of the day.  He would be a great candidate for an apartment or a house. Likes: Jay loves being pet and will make the cutest noises to express his satisfication with the attention.  He's also learning to like toys. Dislikes: Certain dogs (as of now, there has been one male dog in the foster home that he didn't get along with) Additional Considerations: None What makes this dog special: He does well when left alone and gets along with most dogs though he does not require one in his forever home. Jay loves to be pet by his human but he won’t demand it, he’s content to just be in the same room as you. Jay is just learning some dog things like how to play with toys and fetch. He’s done great with house training and even tells you when he needs to go out! Jay's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting Florence, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##1785169##

Story
OtisMaleAge: 2 yearsWeight: 45 lbs Breed: American Bulldog/Boxer Mix   Hey there, I’m Otis! I am a happy-go-lucky, affectionate and super friendly fella who loves all humans and I get along with other dogs and kids, but I have not interacted with cats yet. I walk well on a leash, do great in the car and I am house trained and crate trained! I love to greet my humans with a wiggly butt and will have a stuffed toy in my mouth to show you. I love to play with any toy, especially any plush toy, but my stuffed moose is my favorite! I am playful and occasionally I’ll get the zoomies. I am great on a leash – I don’t even pull.  I must look big in my photos, because everyone who meets me comments on how much smaller I look than they expected.  “I am currently on a special diet for my skin and allergies and am doing well! I will also need yearly eye exams from the ophthalmologist due to a congenital eye condition, however this does not impact my ability to see!” I am so excited to find my forever family who will provide me all the love and attention I deserve! If you are interested in meeting Otis, apply to adopt him atwww.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $275 Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older.
