Get ready to fall in love with Happy, a 5-month-old mixed breed pup who’s just beginning her journey in the big, exciting world! Happy is still learning what it means to be a dog, so new sights, sounds, and people can feel a bit overwhelming at first. She may be a little shy when you first meet her, but with a gentle approach and a little patience, her sweet and tender personality starts to shine through. She came to the shelter with her littermate and finds comfort in having a furry friend nearby. Because of that, Happy would truly thrive in a home with another friendly dog who can help guide her, boost her confidence, and show her that the world isn’t so scary after all. With time, love, and a cozy place to call her own, Happy is sure to grow into a joyful, loyal companion who will bring warmth and smiles into your life every single day. If you’re looking for a soft-hearted pup to nurture and watch blossom, Happy might just be your perfect match.Few can resist a puppy. These adorable, soft bundles of energy are similar to four-legged children with tails. And like children, puppies need a lot of time, care, love, and patience. WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🐾🥧 Well hello y'all — I’m Moon Pie! 🥧🐾 (2 Years • 70 lbs • Male • Big Goof Energy Included) Yep, Moon Pie — like the sweet treat and like Sheldon’s Meemaw calls him on The Big Bang Theory. Because when you’re this lovable, wiggly, and impossible not to adore, you deserve a name that sounds like a hug. And let me tell you… I am a hug in dog form. I’m a big, lanky, floppy, happy boy with a giant heart and zero shame about belly rubs. I will dramatically roll over, squirm, wiggle, and grin while you rub my belly like it’s my full-time job (spoiler: it is). My foster dad calls me a total goof — and honestly, I take that as a compliment. I’m fully house trained (very proud of this accomplishment) and I’m doggie-door certified. If the door is ever locked, I politely wait like the gentleman I am instead of panicking or causing chaos. On walks, I usually stroll along nicely on a loose leash… unless a squirrel appears, or a potential new friend crosses my path, in which case I briefly but only briefly, forget my professionalism 😅 🐾 Moon Pie’s Fun Facts & Credentials: ✔️ House trained & crate trained (I relax quietly when you leave) ✔️ Uses the dog door like a pro ✔️ Walks well on leash — excitement moments included ✔️ Quiet at home — not much of a barker ✔️ Loves toys and can entertain himself like a one-dog circus ✔️ Knows “sit” and “stay” and takes treats gently ✔️ Super smart, eager to learn, and very trainable I’ve lived with a senior dog and we got along great — though I’ll admit, sometimes I forget not everyone wants to play as much as I do. I’d love a dog buddy who enjoys some playtime or a human who’s happy to help me keep polishing my manners. I really want to be the best boy. Oh — and if you’re into running or biking? Congratulations, you’ve just found your new workout partner. I love keeping pace and cruising alongside you like it’s no big deal. At the end of the day, I’m sweet, affectionate, goofy, active, and full of potential. I’m the kind of dog who brings laughter to your yard, calm to your home, and loyalty to your heart. If you’re looking for a loving, slightly ridiculous, incredibly charming companion with sweetness galore and is Meemaw-level approval… I think we might be a perfect match. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and bring home Moon Pie — the snack-sized name with the full-sized heart. 🖤🤍🥧🐾

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Teeka, a 1 year 7 month old spayed female, Boxer mix, 42lbs. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! The amazing Teeka is on the hunt for her forever home. She specializes in best friending with an emphasis on playing! She currently lives with several larger dogs and is learning to respect their boundaries. She LOVES to play with them, but does need some help realizing when her foster siblings are ready to stop. She has not met any cats, so we’re not sure how she’d react to a feline sibling. Her foster mom says she’s done well meeting new human friends and is learning not to jump on them. Because of this and her high energy levels, we do recommend a home with older dog savvy kids. This smartie is house and crate trained! She sleeps quietly in her crate and is kenneled whenever her foster family is out of the house. We don’t recommend leaving her out unsupervised as she may help herself to whatever she finds in the kitchen. Teeka’s love for food is next level and she will try to sneak a bite from you or the other dog’s bowls, but has shown no signs of resource guarding. She is still working on her leash manners, but is getting better every day! She gets a little too excited when she sees other dogs, but is learning to calm down and continue on her walk. This happy girl absolutely loves toys! She knows where the toy basket is and will get one so you can join in the fun. She’s a huge fan of fetch and tug of war! Teeka is learning the joys of relaxing too. She loves to lay on your legs and get some pets and give some kisses. She’s happy just to be near her humans. Teeka is a young pup with boundless energy that will thrive in a home with a yard, daily exercise, training and patience. She’s a goofy, happy, loving girl and with just one look into those pretty doe eyes, your heart will melt! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? Story
Hi… I’m Peppa! When I first came to the shelter as a stray, I was very scared. The world felt big and confusing, and I wasn’t sure who I could trust. No one knows what my life was like before I arrived, but sometimes new things, and people still make me nervous. The kind people here have been so patient with me. They’ve given me time, gentle voices, and lots of encouragement. Because of them, I’ve started to bloom. I’m still learning that I’m safe but every day gets a little easier. It can take me a little while to warm up to new people. I just need a little patience and understanding. Once I trust you though, I really trust you. I love to be close. I’ll curl up in your lap, ask for hugs and kisses, and follow you from room to room just to be near you. Sweet talk makes me feel very special. Peanut butter and treats help too — those are some of my favorite things!I’m learning so many new things right now. Walks can still feel a little scary sometimes, but I’m trying. I’m also working hard on being brave for medical care. It’s a lot, but I’m doing my best.I would really love a family who will continue helping me grow. If we worked on basic obedience training together, I think it would help me build confidence and bond with you even more. I want to feel proud and secure and I want to know I belong. I need to be the only animal in my home, as other dogs can make me feel unsure. I would also do best in a home with mature teens or adults who can help me feel calm and safe. The staff here say I’m a wonderful little lady. They say I’m sweet and snuggly and that I’ve come such a long way. I may be shy at first, sometimes I even hesitate like I’m not sure I’m “allowed” to get on the couch, but once I know it’s okay, I just want to be close to you. What I’m really looking for is someone patient. Someone kind. Someone who will move at my pace and show me that the world isn’t so scary after all.If you have a quiet home and a gentle heart, I think we could be something really special together! If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. Hey hey!! I’m Dax! I just arrived here as a stray, so my past is a bit of a mystery—but my future? Oh, it’s looking fun.I’m a young pitbull mix with a BIG personality and an even bigger zest for life. If you’re looking for a dog who brings the party with him… that’s me. Let me tell you a little about myself:-I’m super playful and full of energy (zoomies included)-I can be a bit bouncy—I just get so excited to see my people!-I’m still learning my manners, so I could use some training-BUT… I am VERY food motivated (snacks = instant best friend)Seriously, if you’ve got treats and a little patience, I’m ready to learn anything you want to teach me. Sit? Stay? World domination? I’m in. Under all that energy, I’m just a really sweet boy who loves attention and being around people. I’m the kind of dog who will make you laugh, keep you moving, and then crash happily by your side after a day of adventures.
