For the latest updates on the mutts, follow us on Facebook: @muttlifewi Visit our website: Muttlife.org __________ The Beach Town Litter Has Arrived in Wisconsin and Is Settling Into Foster Care The Beach Town Litter has officially made the journey from Georgia to Wisconsin with Mutt Life Dog Rescue and is now settling into foster homes. After a long trip north, these seven puppies are getting the opportunity to leave shelter uncertainty behind and begin their next chapter surrounded by care, comfort, and plenty of attention. The litter includes Pismo, Cannon, Jekyll, Tybee, Myrtle, Avila, and Avalon. These puppies came into rescue after being surrendered as part of an unwanted litter in Georgia. While their exact breed mix is unknown, they are believed to be a Boxer/Shepherd mix, with some puppies sporting striking blue eyes that suggest Husky or other breeds may also be part of their heritage. Now approximately 6 weeks old, these puppies are playful, curious, and full of personality. Like all young puppies, they are learning about the world around them and beginning to develop their individual temperaments. Their foster families are helping them gain confidence, experience new sights and sounds, and learn the foundations of life as beloved family pets. Because they are still so young, the puppies are just beginning their journeys with house training, crate training, and basic manners. With continued socialization, training, and positive experiences, they are expected to grow into wonderful companions. This 3-year-old pit bull terrier mix has been through far more than she ever deserved and is now ready for a new beginning filled with love and stability. Mimi was found as a stray by a local mail carrier, wearing a collar with a rabies tag. After efforts were made to locate her owner, it was discovered that he no longer wanted her. The shelter believes she may have been dumped after having a litter of puppies. Despite this heartbreaking start, Mimi has remained incredibly happy, friendly, and loving. Shelter staff could not say enough good things about her. She is described as playful, affectionate, and extremely easy to care for, making her a wonderful choice for a first-time dog owner. From her foster: Mimi is a medium-energy girl who loves to play! She enjoys rough-and-tumble playtime with her foster sister and tends to play on the more enthusiastic side. Because of this, she would do best with another dog who enjoys that same playful style. If she is the only dog in the home, she would thrive with someone committed to giving her daily walks or trips to the dog park. She is VERY dog friendly, gets along with everyone she meets including males and females. She does have a bit of prey drive so did not do well with cats in the home. She has done great with kids and would do well as a family dog. Her previous foster did not use a crate for her when they were gone and she was left in the kitchen and did great. Although, She is crate trained and does well with her current foster being crated while she is at work. Mimi is currently working on her leash manners, getting better every walk. Her current foster lives near lake Michigan so she has been enjoying long walks to the beach, maybe indulging in a pup cup on the way. While she has a playful side, Mimi’s favorite place to be is cuddled up on the couch with her person. She is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loves quiet companionship. She truly is a brindle lovebug who just wants to be close to her people. She did really well at our last meet and greet and handled all the other dogs and the chaos very well. She is not leash reactive and did awesome meeting lots of other people and dogs showing off her happy girl personality.
