Story
Hi my name is Harley.  I am a very sweet girl.  It takes me a little while to trust you but I am loving little thing from the very start,  I am a dainty girl and I don't like to be treated rough at all.  I stay our of the fray when the boys are playing.  I am usually on the sidelines watching or playing with Dart.  While we have totally different personalities.  I am the dainty one and Dart is the rambunctious one.  We would absolutely love to be adopted together.  I am always looking for him and he looks out for m.  I am great with all the 4 legged creatures here and I love my foster mom!  She took such good care of me when I was abandoned as a tiny baby.   To be considered for my forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Dart is actually in Tennessee but can be transported north upon adoption.)May 27, 2024, 2:27 pm

Story
She weaves in and out of your legs spinning a tale that could fill a diary. She's a happy girl who runs up to greet you  when you come home. While kittens are oodles of fun, there is a special pleasure in adopting a young cat who still has her youthful energy but whose personality is bit more developed!  Named after the young adult diary book, Go Ask Alice!, this literary cat gave birth to an adorable kitten litter of banned books and now deserves a loving home of her own.  Like the troubled runaway teen in Go Ask Alice!,  this beautiful calico kitty has been on a perilous journey in the outside world, and is now ready to be safe in her forever home.   She's surprisingly playful and a purrfect calico  just needs an experienced household  Young mamas sometimes lose their sense of their own body sometimes, and they get confused by affection. Alice will sometimes put her mouth on you when she's frustrated or when she's over stimulated (she doesn't like her backend petted), which may scare a child or someone not familiar with cat behavior. She never bites down and will stop when told but it is something to be mindful of; she just communicates with her teeth.   You can find our adoption process as well as a link to our application on our website:  https://sophialorangekittenrescue.com/adoption-instructions All of our adoptable animals are cared for and assessed in foster homes (we do not have a shelter), are up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered and tested for FeLV/FIV.  They have had de-worming medication as a standard of care and Flea/Tick/Ear Mite preventive treatment.  All litter trained of course. And we pre-register the microchip which will automatically transfer to you at adoption keeping us as secondary contact. Medical records will be released with the adopted pet. If you haven't had a chance, please also check out our public facebook page:   https://www.facebook.com/SophiaLOrangeKittenRescue/ Not only will it show you more pictures of our kitties, but also should give you a good idea about who we are as an organization, as fosters, and how our followers and adopters feel about us.  We do take time to get through the adoption process, but want you to feel comfortable that this means we are trying to do what's best for everyone.  We try to post daily about most of our rescue's kitties to share our adventures fostering with you, even if they aren't available for adoption yet; but also to show their personalities as best we can. We hope that by following along, you get to see how we rescue and foster, and how they flourish in care. We thank you all for all your care. There are a lot of wonderful kitties out there just waiting to be loved by someone special. And while we are a small rescue, we would love to help you find the right one for yours.  You can find our adoption process as well as a link to our application on our website:  https://sophialorangekittenrescue.com/adoption-instructions Please pay particular attention to steps 1 & 2. We include on our website details on how to prepare for a home visit, how to get ready for a new kitten, some useful guidance for introductions and reminders about taking time everyone needs.  ##1827905##

Story
“Kiki’s Delivery Service," a beloved anime movie, follows the journey of a girl finding her place in the world, aided by a beloved talking cat. Similarly, the kittens of Kiki’s Delivery Service are on a quest to find their special place in the world, and with your help, they can embark on their own magical adventures."Just like her namesake in Kiki's Delivery Service, this gorgeous calico kitty can be a little particular about who she trusts. But unlike the film's Kiki, this mama cat has already completed the last of her most important deliveries – all of the adorable Kiki’s Delivery Service kittens! Now spayed, after her hard work (we were told she had 6 litters!  prior to this last), she deserves a loving home of her own. While she might be cautious at first, Kiki’s playful affection will blossom once she knows you're here to stay. To win her over, try giving her ear scratches, which she absolutely adores! You can find our adoption process as well as a link to our application on our website:  https://sophialorangekittenrescue.com/adoption-instructions   Please pay particular attention to steps 1 & 2. Story
Spotted her on my back deck July 2023. Uploaded to pawboost.com without a result to this day (no luck getting help from local shelter either) It was either having a starving and sick animal living under my deck, or take her in at least for the time being. # Knows how to use the litter box # Never scratched my screen door # Never jumps on the table # Gentle, quiet and timid - exactly opposite of high-energy/mischievous pet videos you may find on the internet # Hates the sound of yard equipment and goes into hiding

These pups are in Meriden, Connecticut too!

Story
So meeko was given to me by a friend of my mothers. When we adopted him we never had any intention of getting any more animals. Meeko was a sweet cuddly affectionate kitty. Then one day we came home and propped on the windowsill was this skinny little calico that looked terrified and hungry. We took her in and eventually she became a permanent house hold member. We didn't know she wasnt fixed. A lot of people have cats here so I has figured she was dumped outside which I was out later actually was the case. So as she got older and reached maturity meeko became more and more withdrawn. He managed to get her pregnant and only one kitten survived the litter. It was a girl. Now she is reaching maturing so poor meeko is dealing with two females..he keeps us up all night meowing for her. It's really frustrating. We have tried everything and we just csnt addord to fix him right now I'm on disability and things are tight as is. I think meeko would do good in a one per family.

Story
Lola gave birth to her kittens and was such a good mama to them. They have all been adopted and now Lola is hanging out in foster care waiting for her family to find her. She can still be a bit timid, but has enjoyed living in a family environment with her foster pal, Dilly. Her foster mom thinks these two could go home either together or separately but both would benefit from kitty friends in their new home.. Lola loves to play with Dilly – sometimes meowing to her in the early morning to wake up and come play. She will give you slow, meaningful indications of her feelings – leaving toys at your bedside, giving you soulful looks from afar, and every so often – reaching out a paw when you least expect it. The way to Lola's heart with stuffed toys, catnip, treats, and meat flavored baby food. Both Lola and her pal Dilly have really blossomed in foster care and are ready for their forever. We would love them to have a home together but would consider separate adopters as well! Dilly is about 7years old, UTD on vaccinations, spayed and FIV/FELV NEGATIVE. Lola is about 5 years old, UTD on vaccinations, spayed and FIV/FELV NEGATIVE.Apply at https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=28

Story
Emanuel came to us as a rescue transfer where he was trapped outside. Emanuel prefers to stay on the cat walk and watch the action of the room. MHS would consider placement for Emanuel in a safe warehouse/barn situation with proper acclimation. He would make an excellent mouser!Emanuel is estimated 4 years old, neutered, UTD on vaccinations, FIV/FELV NEGATIVE and microchipped. If you are interested in Emanuel, please fill out a feline adoption application on our website, https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=28
