Calico kittens & cats in Meriden, Connecticut

We took in the our two lovely cats about 10 years ago as seven week old kittens (2 sisters out of a litter of 4.) We've had them before any of our kids in our first apartment. They've moved with us a bunch and have become great family companions (baby/kid friendly, well mannered, indoor + outdoor). One is a lap cat/cuddler, the other will happily follow you wherever you go if you call her. Unfortunately, we learned over the last few years that over half of our household has since developed severe allergies to cats, and now having just moved again into a new house with a less than ideal setup, it's becoming too challenging to keep them. As such, we'd like to help them find another loving pet owner or family who would love their companionship. Ideally whoever is interested is willing to take them together as a bonded pair.

Meet Gumball!  (In Texas)Gumball is a sweet and shy girl who was brought to her finder's patio by her Momma along with her siblings in May of 2023.  She may be a bit reserved at first, but she truly blossoms into a loving and cuddly companion once she gets to know you.Gumball absolutely adores being brushed.  She completely enjoys her morning and evening snuggles. Gumball's favorite pastimes include sitting in the window and bird watching - she's truly a little observer of the world. Amy is the most adorable, loveable, dare devil there is! She will run to greet you every time you walk into the room, loves to be held like a baby, purring the second you pick her up, and will hold your face and give you kisses.Amy would need a feline friend to help her be her best self. Amy has a lot of energy and enjoys rough play so she will need a patient friend (preferably one who is bigger then her and can match and perhaps temper her play style to take the crazy down a notch).  Amy is an endlessly curious, fearless girl with the full Tortie-tude energy.Her curiosity got her into a little scrape before she was found and she had a pretty big injury to her back foot. She's all healed up now and has the cutest little three-toed foot, which we think adds to her unique charm but has not slowed her down for one moment. Amy loves to cuddle with her people and her feline friends, has learned to tolerate cat-friendly dogs, and is looking for a home with lots of climbing possibilities and adventures!I've never seen her back down from a challenge or run in fear from anything. Shiloh is affectionate, fun and plays fetch like a dog! She's playful, very intelligent and her perfect day is spent basking in a sunny spot and getting attention! Lola gave birth to her kittens and was such a good mama to them. They have all been adopted and now Lola is hanging out in foster care waiting for her family to find her. She can still be a bit timid, but has enjoyed living in a family environment with her foster pal, Dilly. Her foster mom thinks these two could go home either together or separately but both would benefit from kitty friends in their new home.. Lola loves to play with Dilly – sometimes meowing to her in the early morning to wake up and come play. She will give you slow, meaningful indications of her feelings – leaving toys at your bedside, giving you soulful looks from afar, and every so often – reaching out a paw when you least expect it. Emanuel came to us as a rescue transfer where he was trapped outside. Emanuel prefers to stay on the cat walk and watch the action of the room. MHS would consider placement for Emanuel in a safe warehouse/barn situation with proper acclimation. Dusty was originally a TNR with his buddy Rusty but the trapper decided to give them a chance in her home. They would do best with somebody who has experience in socializing shy kitties. They do have the potential to be a great pair of housecats. MHS would also consider the pair in a safe warehouse/barn situation with proper acclimation. They would make super mousers!Rusty is FIV+ which does NOT require daily medications nor impact his quality of life. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is ONLY passed through deep bite wounds between cats and cannot be passed to other animal species or humans. FIV kitties can live with, share food bowls, litter boxes, groom and wrestle with non FIV housemates with no risk of transmission.
