Story
She weaves in and out of your legs spinning a tale that could fill a diary. She's a happy girl who runs up to greet you  when you come home. While kittens are oodles of fun, there is a special pleasure in adopting a young cat who still has her youthful energy but whose personality is bit more developed!  Named after the young adult diary book, Go Ask Alice!, this literary cat gave birth to an adorable kitten litter of banned books and now deserves a loving home of her own.  Like the troubled runaway teen in Go Ask Alice!,  this beautiful calico kitty has been on a perilous journey in the outside world, and is now ready to be safe in her forever home.   She's surprisingly playful and a purrfect calico  just needs an experienced household  Young mamas sometimes lose their sense of their own body sometimes, and they get confused by affection. Alice will sometimes put her mouth on you when she's frustrated or when she's over stimulated (she doesn't like her backend petted), which may scare a child or someone not familiar with cat behavior. She never bites down and will stop when told but it is something to be mindful of; she just communicates with her teeth.   You can find our adoption process as well as a link to our application on our website:  https://sophialorangekittenrescue.com/adoption-instructions All of our adoptable animals are cared for and assessed in foster homes (we do not have a shelter), are up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered and tested for FeLV/FIV.  They have had de-worming medication as a standard of care and Flea/Tick/Ear Mite preventive treatment.  All litter trained of course. And we pre-register the microchip which will automatically transfer to you at adoption keeping us as secondary contact. Medical records will be released with the adopted pet. If you haven't had a chance, please also check out our public facebook page:   https://www.facebook.com/SophiaLOrangeKittenRescue/ Not only will it show you more pictures of our kitties, but also should give you a good idea about who we are as an organization, as fosters, and how our followers and adopters feel about us.  We do take time to get through the adoption process, but want you to feel comfortable that this means we are trying to do what's best for everyone.  We try to post daily about most of our rescue's kitties to share our adventures fostering with you, even if they aren't available for adoption yet; but also to show their personalities as best we can. We hope that by following along, you get to see how we rescue and foster, and how they flourish in care. We thank you all for all your care. There are a lot of wonderful kitties out there just waiting to be loved by someone special. And while we are a small rescue, we would love to help you find the right one for yours.  You can find our adoption process as well as a link to our application on our website:  https://sophialorangekittenrescue.com/adoption-instructions Please pay particular attention to steps 1 & 2. We include on our website details on how to prepare for a home visit, how to get ready for a new kitten, some useful guidance for introductions and reminders about taking time everyone needs.  ##1827905##

Story
“Kiki’s Delivery Service," a beloved anime movie, follows the journey of a girl finding her place in the world, aided by a beloved talking cat. Similarly, the kittens of Kiki’s Delivery Service are on a quest to find their special place in the world, and with your help, they can embark on their own magical adventures."Just like her namesake in Kiki's Delivery Service, this gorgeous calico kitty can be a little particular about who she trusts. But unlike the film's Kiki, this mama cat has already completed the last of her most important deliveries – all of the adorable Kiki’s Delivery Service kittens! Now spayed, after her hard work (we were told she had 6 litters!  prior to this last), she deserves a loving home of her own. While she might be cautious at first, Kiki’s playful affection will blossom once she knows you're here to stay. To win her over, try giving her ear scratches, which she absolutely adores! You can find our adoption process as well as a link to our application on our website:  https://sophialorangekittenrescue.com/adoption-instructions   Please pay particular attention to steps 1 & 2. Story
This beautiful girl has a personality that shines just as bright. She is a lap kitty in the making. She loves to snuggle up, and adores any and all interaction with all the people she meets. Comet still enjoys playing and snuggling with her siblings and would probably love to have a feline friend in her new home. She adores people of all ages and before she goes to her new home she will have opportunities to interact with dogs, adult cats, and children making her a very well rounded girl. Comet is already using the litter pan and will be spayed, up to date on preventatives and vaccinations at the time of adoption. To see more photos and videos you can check out the fosters TikTok page, Daisysfosterfriends.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.April 26, 2024, 11:54 am

Story
Hi my name is Harley.  I am a very sweet girl.  It takes me a little while to trust you but I am loving little thing from the very start,  I am a dainty girl and I don't like to be treated rough at all.  I stay our of the fray when the boys are playing.  I am usually on the sidelines watching or playing with Dart.  While we have totally different personalities.  I am the dainty one and Dart is the rambunctious one.  We would absolutely love to be adopted together.  I am always looking for him and he looks out for m.  I am great with all the 4 legged creatures here and I love my foster mom!  She took such good care of me when I was abandoned as a tiny baby.   To be considered for my forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Dart is actually in Tennessee but can be transported north upon adoption.)April 23, 2024, 4:30 pm

Story
This is "Stella". Stella is a tortoiseshell and she is 2 years and 8 months old. Stella has been with us for a little over a year now. When Stella came to us, she had a problem with her skin. She was treated by our veterinarian but then we had to wait for her skin problem to clear up. That took some time but Stella did well and has been cleared by our veterinarian. Tortoiseshells are "dark" in color and are less likely to be adopted than a light colored cat. But we say that "you can't judge a book by its cover"! Stella is very playful but sometimes she gets a little "fresh" with the other cats in her foster home. She is doing much better though. Stella would do better in a house with only 1 cat and she could be okay with a small calm dog. We do not know how she would do with children because she has never been around children. In light of that, in Stella's new home, children must be 10 years old or older. Stella is spayed, she got her shots and she tested negative for leukemia/aids. To adopt from us, you MUST have a veterinarian reference in your own name. We will not place any animal without a veterinarian reference. We get a veterinarian reference from your veterinarian which is a history of medical care administered by your veterinarian to your present or previous pet or pets. Please do not contact us if you cannot abide by our adoption rules. The adoption fee for Stella is $200.00. No credit cards. You can meet any of our animals at Petco located at 201 Union Street in Waterbury on Saturday during our adoption hours from 12:00 to 3:00 so, if you are interested in meeting Stella or a particular animal, please email us at feline55keeper@gmail.com and we will be certain to bring that particular animal with us to Petco on Saturday. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE STRESS THAT IN ORDER TO ADOPT FROM US, YOU MUST HAVE A VETERINARIAN REFERENCE...NO EXCEPTIONS!

Story
This is "Hope". Hope is 3 years and 2 months old. Hope and her 5 little kittens were found abandoned in the gazebo at Lakewood Park in Waterbury which is very close to the busy Lakewood Road. One of our previous volunteers was walking his dog by the gazebo and out comes Mommy cat jumping at his dog to protect her kittens! After some coaxing, we were able to scoop up Mommy and her kittens. All 5 kittens have since been adopted! Hope is a great cat. She was a wonderful Mommy, she did her job and she is now ready to find her indoor "furever" home. Hope has been spayed, she got her shots and she tested negative for leukemia/aids. In Hope's new home, children must be 6 years old or older. To adopt from us, you MUST have a veterinarian reference in your own name. We will not place any animal without a veterinarian reference. We get a veterinarian reference from your veterinarian which is history of medical care administered by your veterinarian to your present or previous pet or pets. Please do not contact us if you cannot abide by our adoption rules. The adoption fee for Hope is $225.00. If you adopt 2 cats, the adoption fee for the second cat would be $180.00. No credit cards. You can meet any of our animals at Petco located at 201 Union Street in Waterbury on Saturday during our adoption hours from 12:00 to 3:00 so, if you are interested in meeting Hope or a particular animal, please email us at feline55keeper@gmail.com and we will be certain to bring that particular animal with us to Petco on Saturday. Story
Here is "Smoke". Smoke is 3 years and 6 months old. He is a gray tiger with beautiful white markings. He is quite a handsome guy! Smoke came to us with "Littlebitty". They came to us as friends and roommates. They have been with us for a year now waiting to find a home to call their own. Littlebitty got lucky and found herself a home and is now adopted. Smoke is still waiting to find his home. Although Smoke and Littlebitty were not related, they shared the same story. They came to us because their owner was in a homeless shelter and was not able to find a place to afford to live in and have pets. Smoke is an indoor cat. He is well behaved, he is very sweet and he is very friendly. He is just a great cat! Smoke is not used to dogs so he has to go to a home with no dogs. He does do well with other cats. In Smoke's new home, children must be 6 years old or older. Smoke is neutered, his shots are up to date and he tested negative for feline leukemia/aids. To adopt from us, you MUST have a veterinarian reference in your own name. We will not place any animal without a veterinarian reference. We get a veterinarian reference from your veterinarian which is a history of medical care administered by your veterinarian to your present or previous pet or pets.
