Story
Hello everyone, This is Patches. She is 14 years old and has been living with me and my husband since this past September after my brother passed away. Patches was my brother's companion for several years. She has always lived in a home where she was the only cat and the only pet. We have had Stacey for 14 years. Sadly, Stacey's sister, Sox, passed away last summer. I was really hoping Patches would adjust and they would become friends but it does not seem possible after several months of trying. I feel this environment has become too stressful for Patches and Stacey. Patches is kind and loves to be pet. She does not, however, like to be picked up. She has an adorable meow and has a good appetite. She will come to you when you call her name. She will sit on your lap or near you when she gets to know you. In honor of my brother, I am hoping someone will adopt Patches and love her and take care of her because it is not working out here.

Story
Meet Big Bertha — a five-year-old, plus-sized calico queen with emerald eyes, a legendary glare, and a heart far softer than her expression lets on. She came to us from South Carolina after being rescued from an unimaginable hoarding situation. She was living in a home with 103 animals, surrounded by absolute filth, neglect, and heartbreak. Some of the animals didn’t survive. Dogs, cats, and small animals were found malnourished and living in deplorable conditions. Thankfully, Big Bertha was one of the lucky ones who made it out — a survivor where so many others were not. As you might expect, her start in rescue wasn’t easy. When she entered the shelter, Big Bertha was completely shut down. For 600 long days, she waited quietly to be noticed, to be chosen, to be safe. And we are endlessly grateful that she was rescued, because ever since, she has been nothing short of an absolute love. Behind the sass, the mean mug, and the permanent look of judgment, this chonky sweetheart is truly a softie at heart. Big Bertha is a simple girl who desires soft scratches, a full bowl of food, and someone willing to sit with her in peaceful, quiet company. Her list of royal demands is refreshingly short — a plush bed, a window to stare (or glare) out of, and a human who will happily provide love, admiration, and yes…belly rubs. She is SUCH. A. GOOF. Big Bertha loves to be admired and spoken to. She will engage in full conversations with you through intense eye contact, dramatic pauses, and the occasional silent judgment. It’s truly an experience. Despite being a plus-sized bombshell, Big Bertha has a clean bill of health and excellent bloodwork. She is the kind of lady who causes no drama — content to keep to herself unless you invite affection. While she previously lived with other animals, she would much prefer to reign as your one and only. A quiet, calm home would be her dream kingdom. It’s no surprise that everyone here is completely in love with Big Bertha. She knows it, finds it mildly pathetic to be honest, and graciously tolerates our constant “oohs” and “ahhs” over her adorable angry face and judgy looks. This is Big Bertha’s world, we’re just living in it. Her adoption fee is $225 and Big Bertha is vaccinated, FIV/FELV negative, microchipped, and spayed. If you're interested in this cutie, please fill out an application at https://form.jotform.com/201805462692153. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.

Story
Mirri, Magic warrior cat card, entered the battlefield tapped!  Using her cat warrior ability Mirri has survived being abandoned in a basement for days.  This didn't break Mirri's spirit though, you couldn't have a more delightful creature card.  Untap Mirri when one or more human creature tokens enters the battlefield - Mirri lights up every time she sees someone, Mirri purrs the moment she sees you and keeps right on purring, she absolutely LOVES being with people!  Whether she's playing with you, politely asking to hop up on your lap or dozing off in your arms she's delighted to be with you.  Mirri will happily entertain herself, adorably playing with her toys, but always welcomes someone to play with her.  She'll give you kisses, knead the air when you pick her up, making it so you'll never want to set her down.  In addition to being sweet, playful & cuddly Mirri is gorgeous - she has striking golden eyes and her calico coat looks like the artwork that Magic cards, her namesake, are so well known for.  But now Mirri is ready to win the game - exile the warrior part of her life, never need to fight to survive again, and live happily with her forever family!  Mirri is great with respectful kids and would likely be good with another cat or cat-friendly dog. You can see more pictures and videos of our fosters on our facebook page:  Sophia L'Orange Kitten Rescue All of our adoptable animals are cared for and assessed in foster homes (we do not have a shelter), up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered and tested for FeLV/FIV, before they are adopted. They have had de-worming medication as a standard of care and Flea/Tick/Ear Mite preventive treatment. Medical records will be released with the adopted pet. ##2629767##

Story
Unlike her namesake in A Room With A View, our Charlotte Bartlett holds nothing back.  Must be the dilute nature of her calico, as she's not one inch of diva.  She is all about living life to its fullest whether it comes to cuddles, play, or purrs.  She is an absolute doll, who is curious about everything and everyone, including other cats and cat-friendly dogs. Suspect she'd be fabulous with respectful gentle children.  She would do wonderfully as a pair with her brother, Mr. Eager. As a general rule, we recommend that young kittens only go in pairs or to households that already have another pet. Young kittens on their own, no matter how much attention they get from humans, usually get bored and tend to be more destructive.  They need another animal to help socialize them (to learn how to appropriately wrestle, boundaries, etc).  Most times having another cat is the best, though some may be okay with a gentle dog. Story
Meet Holly Hobby Holly Hobby is a stunning dilute calico beauty with mesmerizing golden eyes and a quiet grace that will melt your heart. Holly loves to be petted and will look at you with those eyes so that you can't help but oblige! Petting her is very satisfying because she stretches her body into your hand to get the most out of your offered pets. Holly is a gentle girl who thrives in a nurturing environment. She is looking for a warm companion who is happy to hand out pets. She is a quiet, easy kitty who requests pets and leans into them. She is on a prescription diet to prevent crystals in her bladder. She eats her prescription food well. That is the only special care she needs. She will do best in a home with adults or a kind-hearted singleton. She also needs people who understand that not every cat enjoys being picked up. When her foster picks her up, Holly just lodges her complaint with management by squiggling and squirming. This sweetheart wouldn't resort to claws! She currently lives peacefully with other 4 cats and 4 kittens and would be happy in a feline-friendly home — or she’d be just as content being your one and only. Canine visitors put her on her guard. Holly likes to be treated to wet food. She will happily accept Temptations treats and Delectables, as well. She is very tidy with her litter box. She loves a comfy blanket and a good view of cat TV. Holly Hobby asks if you will be her friend? Story
This is "Chester". He is about 2 years and 2 months old. A few months ago we got a call from someone on Chestnut Avenue in Waterbury (hence the name "Chester") who was feeding Chester for a while and then Chester got sick from another cat. We took Chester in then and he was very very sick. He was so sick he could not breath, he was very congested, he was drooling a lot and he was not eating. He was just skin and bones! Chester is now completely different from what he was. He did a 100% turnaround! It took us about a month to help make him feel better. He is a healthy cat now and no more skin and bones! Chester gets along with other cats. As for dogs, he could probably live with a calm small dog. In Chester's new home, children must be 6 years old or older. Chester got neutered, he got his shots and he tested negative for feline leukemia/aids. To adopt from us, you MUST have a veterinarian reference in your own name. We will not place any animal without a veterinarian reference. We get a veterinarian reference from your veterinarian which is a history of medical care administered by your veterinarian to your present or previous pet or pets. Please do not contact us if you cannot abide by our adoption rules. The adoption fee for Chester is $245.00. No credit cards. You can meet any of our animals at Petco located at 201 Union Street in Waterbury on Saturday during our adoption hours from 12:00 to 3:00 so, if you are interested in meeting Chester or a particular animal, please email us at feline55keeper@gmail.com and we will be certain to bring that particular animal with us to Petco on Saturday. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE STRESS THAT IN ORDER TO ADOPT FROM US, YOU MUST HAVE A VETERINARIAN REFERENCE...NO EXCEPTIONS!

Story
Here is our litter of 4 kittens that are ready to find their forever homes. Meet "Dilly" and "Dally" (the twins), "Storm" and little "Teensie". Dilly and Teensie are females. Dally and Storm are males. Dilly and Dally are in the first picture, Storm is in the second picture and Teensie is in the third picture. These 4 cuties are about 1 year old and they sure are full of kitten energy! WE HAVE AN UPDATE! Storm and Teensie have been adopted! So now Dilly and Dally, sister and brother, are waiting to be adopted too. Unless Dilly and Dally go into a home with another kitten or cat already in the home, they have to be adopted together. In their new home, children must be 6 years old or older. Dilly got spayed and Dally got neutered, their shots are up to date and their mom tested negative for feline leukemia and aids. Speaking of the kittens' mom, her name is "Cora". Cora is in the fourth picture. Cora was also available for adoption but she has since been adopted! The adoption fee for Dilly and Dally is $250.00 each or $350.00 for the pair. No credit cards.
