Story
Bailee is adorable, and so full of kitten energy!! She hasn't decided to seek out her foster family for snuggles and lap time (yet) but she HAS decided that when her people pick her up and put her in their laps, she will let them do that, because she really likes the pets and scritches they give! (Oh, and she's a pro biscuit maker!) We're guessing this sweet little calico cutie will settle in nicely with a family who is consistent with their handling and love, and has a normal routine so she can learn to follow it and trust. Patience and loving consistency with this little one will definitely pay off! Included with the adoption is the kitty's spay, all applicable birth-to-one-year FVRCP, FeLeuk and first round of rabies vaccinations, deworming, flea treatment, a wellness check, FIV/FeLV combo testing, and microchipping. In addition to being fully vetted, our cats and kittens are highly socialized. We even offer a getting acquainted period, so you can comfortably settle in with your new kitty! Please note, young kitties do best with another kitty in the household. To apply to adopt, please complete an adoption inquiry at www.bluesmews.org so our adoption specialist volunteer can review it and contact you!

Story
Say hello to MATTIE! -Adult (~3-5 years) -Dedicated biscuit maker -Powerful purr and sandpaper kisses! -A bit of an enigma, afraid of life itself -This kitty has behavioral considerations and will require medications and a special diet Mattie came into rescue very shut down, and has made some slow but steady progress in foster care with a calm environment and gentle routine, but her emotional comfort zone remains…contained. Literally. Fostering Mattie brings irony to the concept of foster home based rescue, considering the whole point is so that cats don't have to remain isolated, but solitude is truly Mattie's safe space: she has a single spare room all to herself, and will not come out of it. She’ll need a very special adopter; someone with a bounty of both time and patience to help unravel this fuzzy little ball of neuroticism. (And handling skills, as we would not consider her the easiest kitty to medicate, and the sensitive tummy makes for secretly medicated treats a challenge). Mattie lives with SIGNIFICANT anxiety that makes new environments and people overwhelming for her. She is very easily stressed and now that she is finally starting to become a bit more “cat-like” in her foster environment, we are eager to send her off to blossom in her forever environment. Despite her persistent state of “I Am Afraid,” she is truly soft at heart. She greets her food with enthusiasm, is passionate about fuzzy blankies, enjoys birdwatching from her cat tree, and is also a fan of chin scritchies and brushies. She has a proud purr and quite impressively (and perhaps slightly unsettingly) large eyeballs. Mattie’s anxiety does not actually present itself in a fractious nature; she doesn’t bite, she just hides when overwhelmed. Mattie wouldn’t hurt a fly. In fact, she is probably afraid of them. She is otherwise in good health, fully vaccinated, spayed, and also recently had her teeth cleaned.   What kind of home does Mattie need? -Quiet and low-stress -Patient and observant -Experienced with or open to supporting a behaviorally complex cat with medication needs -Okay with a cat who may always be a bit of a nervous nellie Just think of Mattie as the embodiment of “introvert energy.” Her current routine consists of liquid gabapentin by mouth twice daily, transdermal fluoxetine in the morning, and a hydrolyzed diet to keep her anxious tummy happy. So if you’re patient, motivated by even the tiniest progress, and emotionally fluent in “cat,” Mattie might just be your tiny, ghost-eyed soulmate.  Included with the adoption is the kitty's spay, all current-due FVRCP, FeLeuk, and rabies vaccinations for kitties over 1-year, deworming, flea treatment, a wellness check, FIV/FeLV combo testing, and microchipping. We offer a 2-week getting acquainted period and a 2-week wellness guarantee, so you can comfortably settle in with your new kitty! Story
Born on May 7, 2023. Has 5 other siblings.* All are ready for adoption. Never been outside - flea free. Eating hard cat food. Weaned. Litterbox trained. I am NOT 100% certain of the sex of the kittens so make sure to double check before finalizing the adoption. "Are dilute calico cats rare? Yes, even female dilute calico cats are rare. As we saw above, only one in every 1,000 cats is born a standard calico and dilute calico cats are that much harder to come by. One of the reasons for this is that the dilution gene is what’s known as a recessive gene. That means that a more dominant gene can mask it and a kitten would need to inherit the dilution gene from both parents in order to be born a dilute calico. "...- so, consider yourself very lucky indeed if you become the pet parent to one of these beauties." https://www.petsradar.com/advice/dilute-calico-cat

Story
Rosie is such a sweet girl and i’m truly heartbroken to rehome her. I’ve had her for 6 years and had adopted her from SPCA in cincinnati. She is about to be 6 years old on September 28th. She is all caught up on vaccines. Sadly my reasoning for rehoming is due to the fact that she does not get along with my dog anymore, i’ve tried everything to rehabilitate their relationship but she needs to be in a home with only cats or no other animals for her own well being. She is so playful and sweet and will give you so much loving and kisses; when she’s really happy she’ll start giving little love nibbles. she loves going outside but likes to stay very close to home and will only be out for short periods at a time. she loves her cat tower, her tunnel, and a specific wooden stick toy. the fee is $30 to ensure she’s going to a good home that can truly provide for her and love on her. so heartbroken to have to do this!

Story
🐾 Meet Bella! 🐾 Bella is a sweet, sassy calico girl who is ready to find her forever home! ❤️ Bella started out as a stray, but she has completely stolen our hearts with her affectionate and big personality. She is incredibly sweet, loves attention, and definitely has a little bit of calico sass to keep things interesting! 😸 Bella is cat friendly with a proper, gradual introduction and would be happy to have a feline friend in her new home. We haven't had the opportunity to see how she does with dogs or young children, so those would be new experiences for her. After spending time outside, Bella is ready to trade life on the streets for a cozy bed, a full food bowl, and a family of her own. She has so much love to give and deserves a safe, loving home where she can be spoiled like the princess she is. If you're looking for a sweet girl with a little sass and a whole lot of personality, Bella might just be your girl! 🩷🐱

Story
Odie is a nervous guy. He's been with his foster mom for quite some time, and still isn't so sure about it when she walks over to him. There ARE a lot of foster siblings there, though... it's possible that with just the right balance of a quiet home and a very patient person, Odie may decide he wants a bit more human interaction (but we don't know, and cannot promise that.) Odie would do best in a quiet home without kids, dogs, or dominant kitties, somewhere he can feel safe and comfortable enough to let his guard down. Included with the adoption is the kitty's spay/neuter, all current-due FVRCP, FeLeuk, and rabies vaccinations for kitties over 1-year, deworming, flea treatment, a wellness check, FIV/FeLV combo testing, and microchipping. Story
Ozzy is a loving and affectionate boy who has overcome a few health challenges in his short life. He has taken everything in stride, and continues to be a light in his foster's household! EVERY new kitten that comes in is his best friend, and EVERY new toy is a new adventure!! He is constantly purring, and LOVES being in the same room as his people. Ozzy had a ruptured eye which led to its altered appearance. While it may effect his vision to some degree, he does not show it! He also has recurrent FHV-1 which leads to flare ups of sneezing, congestion and discharge. His foster has worked tirelessly to find ways to prevent and manage his flare ups, and is more than happy to share these with his future family! While he may look a little silly winking most of the time, this boy has nothing but LOVE and HAPPINESS to share!! Our vet estimates Ozzy's age at under 1 year old. Included with the adoption is the kitty's neuter, all applicable birth-to-one-year FVRCP, FeLeuk and first round of rabies vaccinations, deworming, flea treatment, a wellness check, FIV/FeLV combo testing, and microchipping. Fizzle is an adorable tortie girl with two favorite activities: playing hard and relaxing even harder! While she prefers cuddles on her own terms, she's incredibly sweet when she's in the mood for affection. One of her cutest quirks is suckling on her own tail when she feels happy and safe. With her playful spirit, unique personality, and irresistible charm, Fizzle is sure to steal your heart. Included with the adoption is the kitty's spay, all applicable birth-to-one-year FVRCP, FeLeuk and first round of rabies vaccinations, deworming, flea treatment, a wellness check, FIV/FeLV combo testing, and microchipping.
