Story
Bailee is adorable, and so full of kitten energy!! She hasn't decided to seek out her foster family for snuggles and lap time (yet) but she HAS decided that when her people pick her up and put her in their laps, she will let them do that, because she really likes the pets and scritches they give! (Oh, and she's a pro biscuit maker!) We're guessing this sweet little calico cutie will settle in nicely with a family who is consistent with their handling and love, and has a normal routine so she can learn to follow it and trust. Patience and loving consistency with this little one will definitely pay off! Included with the adoption is the kitty's spay, all applicable birth-to-one-year FVRCP, FeLeuk and first round of rabies vaccinations, deworming, flea treatment, a wellness check, FIV/FeLV combo testing, and microchipping. In addition to being fully vetted, our cats and kittens are highly socialized. We even offer a getting acquainted period, so you can comfortably settle in with your new kitty! Please note, young kitties do best with another kitty in the household. To apply to adopt, please complete an adoption inquiry at www.bluesmews.org so our adoption specialist volunteer can review it and contact you!

Story
Say hello to MATTIE! -Adult (~3-5 years) -Dedicated biscuit maker -Powerful purr and sandpaper kisses! -A bit of an enigma, afraid of life itself -This kitty has behavioral considerations and will require medications and a special diet Mattie came into rescue very shut down, and has made some slow but steady progress in foster care with a calm environment and gentle routine, but her emotional comfort zone remains…contained. Literally. Fostering Mattie brings irony to the concept of foster home based rescue, considering the whole point is so that cats don't have to remain isolated, but solitude is truly Mattie's safe space: she has a single spare room all to herself, and will not come out of it. She’ll need a very special adopter; someone with a bounty of both time and patience to help unravel this fuzzy little ball of neuroticism. (And handling skills, as we would not consider her the easiest kitty to medicate, and the sensitive tummy makes for secretly medicated treats a challenge). Mattie lives with SIGNIFICANT anxiety that makes new environments and people overwhelming for her. She is very easily stressed and now that she is finally starting to become a bit more “cat-like” in her foster environment, we are eager to send her off to blossom in her forever environment. Despite her persistent state of “I Am Afraid,” she is truly soft at heart. She greets her food with enthusiasm, is passionate about fuzzy blankies, enjoys birdwatching from her cat tree, and is also a fan of chin scritchies and brushies. She has a proud purr and quite impressively (and perhaps slightly unsettingly) large eyeballs. Mattie’s anxiety does not actually present itself in a fractious nature; she doesn’t bite, she just hides when overwhelmed. Mattie wouldn’t hurt a fly. In fact, she is probably afraid of them. She is otherwise in good health, fully vaccinated, spayed, and also recently had her teeth cleaned.   What kind of home does Mattie need? -Quiet and low-stress -Patient and observant -Experienced with or open to supporting a behaviorally complex cat with medication needs -Okay with a cat who may always be a bit of a nervous nellie Just think of Mattie as the embodiment of “introvert energy.” Her current routine consists of liquid gabapentin by mouth twice daily, transdermal fluoxetine in the morning, and a hydrolyzed diet to keep her anxious tummy happy. So if you’re patient, motivated by even the tiniest progress, and emotionally fluent in “cat,” Mattie might just be your tiny, ghost-eyed soulmate.  Included with the adoption is the kitty's spay, all current-due FVRCP, FeLeuk, and rabies vaccinations for kitties over 1-year, deworming, flea treatment, a wellness check, FIV/FeLV combo testing, and microchipping. We offer a 2-week getting acquainted period and a 2-week wellness guarantee, so you can comfortably settle in with your new kitty! Story
Meet Buddy 🖤🤍 Buddy is an incredibly sweet, affectionate young guy who is ready to find the forever home he deserves. Buddy showed up one day at a community cat colony, but it quickly became obvious that this boy had been someone’s indoor cat. Sadly, we believe he was abandoned and left to fend for himself. Despite everything, Buddy hasn’t lost an ounce of his love for people. He is extremely friendly, gentle, and affectionate and seems to love absolutely everyone he meets. Humans? ❤️ Cats? ❤️ Dogs? ❤️ Buddy is just an all-around happy, easygoing guy who wants to be part of the family. One of his favorite activities is making biscuits—and he does it constantly! 🐾 He loves attention, companionship, and simply being near his people. Buddy is neutered, vaccinated, and ready for adoption. He has already experienced what it feels like to lose a home, so this time we’re looking for the real thing: a safe, loving FOREVER home where Buddy will never have to wonder if he’s wanted again. If you’re looking for an affectionate, social kitty who will fit right into your family, Buddy may be your guy. 🖤🤍

Story
Meet Jack E.! 🐾 Jack E. got her name because, when she first came to us, her little bottom was so swollen that two different vets couldn’t tell whether she was a boy or a girl—both guessed boy! Surprise…Jack is actually a girl! We kept the name but gave it a feminine twist: Jack E. 💕 This sweet girl had a rough start, battling giardia and an upper respiratory infection, but she never let it dampen her spirit. She has been such a brave little trooper through vet visits and treatment and is now ready to find the loving forever home she deserves! Jack E. is playful, affectionate, curious, and always interested in whatever her humans are doing. Whether she’s supervising a home-improvement project from the top of a ladder or accompanying you on a trip to Lowe’s, she makes an adorable little sidekick. If you’re looking for a lovable helper who will keep you smiling, Jack E. may be your perfect match! Jack E will be spayed and vaccinated once she is the proper weight.
