Story
Hello, we recently lost our mom and these two beautiful cats were her pride and joy. Boots is a male yellow short hair, Patches is a female long hair calico. Both have been neutered and spayed, up-to-date on the vaccinations and they are declawed. They are both 12 years old and have been together since kittens. They have always been indoor. Still love to play with toys, are healthy eaters and love personal attention. Boots is a recluse when visitors come Patches is more social. They both craved attention from mom and we are sure they will adapt to a new owner. We would love to keep them, but unfortunately, we have allergies in our home. Our preference would be that they were adopted together.

Story
Little Miss Soot Sprite was born outside to a mom who took very good care of her and her siblings. We were able to trap mom and get her fixed and one by one have been able to catch the kittens. Soot Sprite is now inside and living the good life and is looking for her forever family. Sooty, as she is nicknamed, is about 5 months old. She is very friendly and playful and would do well with another playful cat or dog and older children. Sooty has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, and treated preventatively for fleas/parasites. Soot Sprite has beautiful dilute calico markings on her face with a deep gray coloring. She does look like she was dipped in a bin of soot (thus, her name). Her fur is soft like a little bunny's fur. If you would like to find out more about Soot Sprite or to request an application, please email Black and Orange Cat Foundation at bandocats@gmail.com for more information. October 25, 2025, 3:02 pm

Story
Say hello to MATTIE! -Adult (~3-5 years) -Dedicated biscuit maker -Powerful purr and sandpaper kisses! -A bit of an enigma, afraid of life itself -This kitty has behavioral considerations and will require medications and a special diet Mattie came into rescue very shut down, and has made some slow but steady progress in foster care with a calm environment and gentle routine, but her emotional comfort zone remains…contained. Literally. Fostering Mattie brings irony to the concept of foster home based rescue, considering the whole point is so that cats don't have to remain isolated, but solitude is truly Mattie's safe space: she has a single spare room all to herself, and will not come out of it. She’ll need a very special adopter; someone with a bounty of both time and patience to help unravel this fuzzy little ball of neuroticism. (And handling skills, as we would not consider her the easiest kitty to medicate, and the sensitive tummy makes for secretly medicated treats a challenge). Mattie lives with SIGNIFICANT anxiety that makes new environments and people overwhelming for her. She is very easily stressed and now that she is finally starting to become a bit more “cat-like” in her foster environment, we are eager to send her off to blossom in her forever environment. Despite her persistent state of “I Am Afraid,” she is truly soft at heart. She greets her food with enthusiasm, is passionate about fuzzy blankies, enjoys birdwatching from her cat tree, and is also a fan of chin scritchies and brushies. She has a proud purr and quite impressively (and perhaps slightly unsettingly) large eyeballs. Mattie’s anxiety does not actually present itself in a fractious nature; she doesn’t bite, she just hides when overwhelmed. Mattie wouldn’t hurt a fly. In fact, she is probably afraid of them. She is otherwise in good health, fully vaccinated, spayed, and also recently had her teeth cleaned.   What kind of home does Mattie need? -Quiet and low-stress -Patient and observant -Experienced with or open to supporting a behaviorally complex cat with medication needs -Okay with a cat who may always be a bit of a nervous nellie Just think of Mattie as the embodiment of “introvert energy.” Her current routine consists of liquid gabapentin by mouth twice daily, transdermal fluoxetine in the morning, and a hydrolyzed diet to keep her anxious tummy happy. So if you’re patient, motivated by even the tiniest progress, and emotionally fluent in “cat,” Mattie might just be your tiny, ghost-eyed soulmate.  Included with the adoption is the kitty's spay, all current-due FVRCP, FeLeuk, and rabies vaccinations for kitties over 1-year, deworming, flea treatment, a wellness check, FIV/FeLV combo testing, and microchipping. We offer a 2-week getting acquainted period and a 2-week wellness guarantee, so you can comfortably settle in with your new kitty! Story
Urabella is straight up royalty! She carries herself and walks like she should be on the red carpet. She's so vocal and regal, and her foster says she will definitely be the boss in any home. She loves being petted and laying beside her people. Please note, she's had negative experience with dogs in the past, and won't tolerate them now; she will attack if they get in striking distance, so she'll need a calm, kitty-only home. She does get along with cats as long as they respect her space. She will likely do best in a home with adults and older children. Our vet estimates miss Urabella at 2 years old. Included with the adoption is the kitty's spay all current-due FVRCP, FeLeuk, and rabies vaccinations for kitties over 1-year, deworming, flea treatment, a wellness check, FIV/FeLV combo testing, and microchipping. Story
Hello there, I'm Chaz. I've got a knack for independence, a playful spirit, and a mind as sharp as a tack. I've been told I'm quite the athlete too, especially when it comes to fishing pole toys. I can leap and pounce like no other, making those toys wish they'd never tangled with me. Life here in the shelter is okay, but I'm eager for more. I crave a home where I can share my playful antics and show off my smarts. I'm not just a cat, I'm a companion, a playmate, a confidante. If you're looking for a partner in fun and a buddy to share quiet moments with, then I'm your girl. I've been at the shelter since I was a week old, and I'd love to have my own home. I promise, adopting me will be the best decision you've ever made.Note from Paws humans: To apply to adopt any of our cats or kittens, please visit our website and fill out our on-line application at https://www.pawsurbana.org/apply-to-adopt

I've also been a wonderful mother, nurturing and caring, teaching my little ones about the world. I have so much love to give and I'm ready to share it with a new family. I'm not just a shelter cat, I'm Victoria, your future best friend and confidante.Note from Paws humans: To apply to adopt any of our cats or kittens, please visit our website and fill out our on-line application at https://www.pawsurbana.org/apply-to-adopt

Story
Hey there, I'm Dasher! I'm not your average cat, I've got superpowers. One day, I used my super speed to save a little boy from a runaway bicycle. My heroic act didn't go unnoticed, but my identity had to be kept a secret. So, I was whisked away to Paws Animal Shelter for super pets like me. I've got a lot of love to give and I'm as playful as they come. I'm always curious, ready to explore every corner of my new home. But beware, I've got a knack for dashing out the door when you least expect it. If you're looking for a feline companion who can keep you on your toes, I'm your cat. I promise to use my super speed for good, and only when necessary. Adopt me, and together, we can embark on an exciting adventure of a lifetime.Note from Paws humans: To apply to adopt any of our cats or kittens, please visit our website and fill out our on-line application at https://www.pawsurbana.org/apply-to-adopt
