I adopted Yoshiko from the Tacoma Humane Society on July 26, 2025. She was listed as a female 2 year old mastiff but after having the embark DNA and age test the results can be back as 4 years 8 months purebred Cane Corso. She was found on the freeway showing she just had a litter. She is so sweet and soft and loves cuddles with everyone in the house. I live with my parents, sister and brother in law. Over time she has become aggressive with my father and brother in law. Yoshiko is fine with them and will go up to them but as soon as they leave and come back a flip switches and the aggressiveness comes out. We have done training to help her triggers and there is some sort of ptsd she has with males. As of recent it has gotten worse with the growling, snapping and lunging. We all love her but with the bite force of 700psi and not knowing when her mood will shift is very worrisome/terrifying for my father and brother in law. She does need someone familiar with this breed with patience.

Meet Jason (formerly Soli — affectionately known as Mr. Wigglebutt ) This stunning brindle Cane Corso mix escaped the euthanasia list in Modesto and hasn’t looked back. Now settling into Washington life, Jason is ready to find his forever family! Jason LOVES people (especially the ones with snacks ) and will greet you with his signature adorable wiggle from his cropped tail. He’s social with other dogs and is respectful when they give him cues. At about 85–90 lbs and still filling out, he’s a true XL lovebug with the energy to match! He sleeps quietly in his kennel, is progressing nicely with house and leash training, and is always down for an adventure — especially car rides. Ideal Home:Jason would thrive with an active family committed to continuing training and structure. He does well with other dogs, but no cats for this big guy. Jason is also great with kids — he genuinely enjoys being around them — but due to his size and occasional “oops-I-forgot-I’m-a-moose” energy, we recommend kids who are dog-savvy and aware of big-dog boundaries. Welcome Jacks to CCPAL Rescue. Jacks is an 11-month-old Cane Corso/Australian Heeler. He is very affectionate, knows sit, loves water and can open a fence latch. He is a smart boy. He really is attentive and has had a wonderful foster before entering the shelter. He is wonderful at sitting when you ask him to sit. A carabiner is adequate to block him from flipping the latch of the gate open. This is what we use to secure the gate of his kennel. We don’t think he is the type that wants to run away. He is smart and bored in his kennel is all. He is a great dog and we think he would be a great hiker, walker and companion dog for an outdoor enthusiast. He loves all people and doesn’t seem at all bothered by strangers. He is friendly to everyone. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 and older due to his size. He weighs about 60 pounds and looks to be a good weight. He has a beautiful blocky head and with the harness on he was relatively easy to walk. We are looking for a moderately active family for this dog. We think he is very handsome and is going to appeal to men because of his beautiful head and athletic build. He is neutered, vaccinated, healthy and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get this gorgeous dog to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the east Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. . Welcome Bob to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 5.5 year old Cane Corso/Mastiff mixed dog. He is about 70 pounds and he is very sweet. He is now ready for his forever home. He is an adorable bubble blower and he had the most adorable drool on the video. If you love the Mastiff breed then you know they drool. It is a part of their charm. He will be a loyal boy and he is lower on the energy scale. He was extremely happy to be walking her at the rescue. We have been spending lots of time getting all the adult dogs good on leash. He has a lower coat and not a huge shedding dog. He would be great for an older couple looking for a large and lower energy companion. He would also be good for a family where the man works out of town and he wants to know his kids and wife feel safe with a dog watching the scene. He is healthy and getting vaccines.
