Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Rusty, aka Cyber, is a feisty Siamese Snowshoe nearly 4 years old who has been with his foster mom since mid-April.  Surrendered in November to the West Branch shelter, he was adopted a few days later and returned after a week. He remained in the shelter until he was adopted at the end of March, but unfortunately his new family was allergic, so he only got to stay two weeks.  Very cautious at first, he now hangs out and wants to be where the action is.  He is extremely curious, has bat-like hearing, and will get up from a nap to check out what you are doing so he doesn’t miss out.  He runs in front of you and then lays down to show off his belly.  He talks faintly - usually for food, much quieter than a typical Siamese, and purrs loudly all the time.  He is very picky on wet food, loves Friskies turkey only – no giblets, liver or vegetables, no pate, chicken or fish, and he likes Science Diet dry food. He spends hours each day watching the birds through the windows.  He loves cat treats, and is very aware of where they are kept, hence we had to move all treats to the refrigerator so he would not try to help himself in the middle of the night.  He eats treats one at a time out of your hand and wants to help with absolutely everything. He is extremely smart and always busy.  Content for only a few minutes being held or petted; he is not a snuggly cat.  We call him Kitty Loaf, and he will sleep on our lap or next to you in bed, with only limited petting, before it is time to play or move on.  He opens cupboards, drawers and closet doors, tips over waste baskets and carries toys throughout the house.  He pushes stuff out of his way when exploring or finding a cozy place to sleep.    At almost 15 lbs., he frequently knocks things over as he climbs and jumps as he surprisingly does not always fit where he thinks a petite cat should.  He was apparently too busy to pay close attention in manners class at his prior home.    He hates to have his nails clipped, thinks it is a game, so he bites.  After several different approaches, the vet does it.  After some time, he has learned to get along with my daughter’s older Yellow Lab who doesn’t bark, and who also doesn’t mind letting Rusty’s Alpha personality to be the one in charge.  Unsure how he may interact with other pets.  He has adjusted well, won our hearts, and we are very sad to see him re-homed.  Please consider adopting him only if you can offer him the “purrfect” forever home and will find his cat antics delightful.  Probably not the best match for a family with children.  If you have room in your home and heart for Rusty, please complete an application today. All MISR cats are neutered or spayed, current on rabies and distemper, have tested negative for FIV/FELV and all known health issues have been addressed. The adoption fee for Rusty is $250. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Novie, a 1-year-old Siamese Tabby mix. He is a beautiful boy with his stunning blue eyes He LOVES sitting in windows enjoying the fresh air and keeping an eye on all the squirrels, chipmunks and all mother nature’s creatures. Gazing outside is his happy place when he feels calm, especially at nighttime. He loves laying in the sun and his favorite thing in the world is a Chicken Delectable Squeeze Up He loves to follow us around the house and hasn’t been very vocal unless you shut the door and he’s not in the room with you or if its food related (very food motivated growing boy). Novie is not a huge cuddler, but he does enjoy pets from his human. He is not a fan of tummy rubs and will give you a little bunny back leg warning kicks if you forget and rub his belly. He doesn’t enjoy being picked up and is a little wiggly at times but he LOVES to be brushed! His favorite is a big, tall scratching tree! He is a huge fan and uses his tree daily, but he hasn’t shown an interest in the scratchers that are flat on the floor. He allows nail trims, although he’s not a huge fan of it, we are able to distract him with his favorite yummy treat. So far, he hasn’t shown an interest in jumping on the kitchen counters, but he is curious and stretches his paw up when he wants to see what is going on. Novie is full of energy and must be play with multiple times a day. He gets at least 30 minutes of play time in the morning and evening. He’s a young boy and young boys like to play! He is good with other cats and would do well with a playmate around the same age as him. If you have room in your home and heart for Novie, please complete an application today. All MISR cats are neutered or spayed, current on rabies and distemper, have tested negative for FIV/FELV and all known health issues have been addressed. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Hattie, a Siamese Chocolate Point, who is approximately 6 or 7 years. She is a beautiful girl with her stunning blue eyes She is SO special because she is SO loving! She loves to be around people it is her favorite thing in the world! If you are looking for a lap cat, Hattie is the girl you have been looking for. She would spend every waking minute in her human’s lap if you let her Foster dad says she makes the best sleeping buddy. Hattie does have one problem…if there is a heating pad in one of the cat beds, she is so torn between leaving that warm sleeping spot and the warmth of her human’s lap Guess that is a good problem to have! Hattie is not much of a talker, which is surprising for Siamese cats, but she does make tiny little sounds, and she does like to purr! Hattie must be an only kitty. She is a special needs kitty and has persistent nasal congestion that, despite medication, gives her moments of coughing. There are some indications of early onset kidney disease or a possible kidney injury and Hattie will need to be on special food for life. If you have room in your home and heart for Hattie, please complete an application today. All MISR cats are neutered or spayed, current on rabies and distemper, have tested negative for FIV/FELV and all known health issues have been addressed. The adoption fee for Hattie is $200 and she is being fostered in Novi Michigan.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
Meet Mia! This sweet and low-key lady is looking for her forever home! Mia is the kind of cat who wants to lounge around with her people all day long! She enjoys the occasional play session, but prefers the calmer life! She can be a little nervous of new people, but with the right amount of love and time she will be on your lap in no time! Mia would prefer a home without children under 5, and with a calmer kitty if any. Mia is Feline Leukemia (FeLV) positive. FeLV is a serious virus that is contagious to other cats (but not contagious to people or other species of animals). It may cause a shortened lifespan but FeLV cats have so much fun and love to give. Please call or come in to find out more.Mia is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Please email adoptions@hshv.org or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a meeting today!

Story
Hi my name is Toula! I am a shy cat looking for a patient owner who is willing to give me time to adjust and open up in my new home. I can be rather shy so I would prefer a quieter home without younger children. Once I get comfortable, I will come out of my shell and start to show more of my true personality. After all, the best things in life are worth waiting for – like a special bond with a cat who likes the calmer side of life.Toula is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Please email adoptions@hshv.org or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a meeting today!
