You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Edith! Edith is a gorgeous long-haired calico, about five years old, whose gentle soul has weathered a difficult past. She was rescued from a cat colony in Detroit, living rough on the streets with her adult daughter, Esther. When a kind volunteer noticed that both were friendly — and both expecting kittens — she brought them to safety in foster care. When Edith arrived, she was weary and unsure of this whole “indoor life.” She was sick with an upper respiratory infection, her fur was matted, and she was covered in grime from surviving outdoors. Yet through it all, she was patient and tolerant — just distant and guarded. She allowed her foster mom to clean her up, give her medicine, and trim away the tangles, even if her heart wasn’t ready to trust yet. Over time, Edith began to soften. She learned that gentle hands meant kindness, and that love could be safe. After twelve weeks, she finally approached on her own — purring, rubbing for affection, and accepting love freely. Her foster mom cried happy tears that day. Edith has shown extraordinary compassion, not only raising her own kittens with care but nurturing her grown daughter, Esther, as well. The two share a remarkably close bond — Edith can be protective of her, and they find great comfort in each other’s company. Now, Edith is ready for the next chapter: a peaceful, patient home where she can continue to blossom. She’s calm, affectionate, and deeply loving once she trusts you — a living reminder that even the most guarded hearts can heal with time and kindness. Edith does need a daily probiotic and lysine to keep her healthy and happy! She had a litter of four healthy kittens in April and was a very attentive mother. But now it’s her turn. She is warm and affectionate and surprisingly very quiet. She loves long sessions of cuddling on your lap, making biscuits and purring and she'll let you know when she's done. She likes to climb and be above the floor. She needs to be an only pet please and older kids only. While she is a big love, she isn’t very tolerant of younger children. She wanted us to mention, that she would appreciate a cat tree or two. Smokey girl deserves the best life!! She has not been exposed to dogs. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Mellow truly lives up to his name, from car rides to playtime, he always has a sweet and calm demeanor. He is very smart and a little clingy. He loves people and frequently turns on his back for belly rubs. Just be sure not to rub his belly for more than a couple seconds, he's sensitive about it sometimes. Sadly, we lost Dynamite (his brother) to kidney failure. It came on very sudden and despite getting him to Wilson's Veterinary Hospital quickly, he was unable to recover and lost the battle. We are hopeful that Mellow will be adopted to an awesome family who can help to soothe his broken heart! Mellow will be 11 years old this month and still loves to play with toys but won't exhaust you like a kitten would. 20 minutes a day of play is more than enough for him. He also loves being brushed - he purrs and tumbles onto his back to give you better space to brush him. His beautiful, all orange coat and green eyes simply add to his appeal. He will come to greet you when you come home. Mellow is a very goofy and amusing cat as you can see in his videos. He is especially treat motivated. His foster mom was able to teach him to jump on the cat tree with treats! You will likely be able to train him as he's quite smart for a cat. He is not fooled by the laser pointer, unlike his brother! He was bonded with his brother Dynamite and and will miss him, so he may need help to fill the void left by his brother's passing. Mellow loves to watch the birds out the window. His foster home has a bird feeder right outside the window and his cat tree next to it. Mellow will come with many of his favorite things, his cat tree, litter boxes, plates, toys, treats. His foster parents are willing to zoom call or meet with you if you want to see him. He would do best in a house with no dogs. He used to live with a family but was left behind when they moved. Instead of giving up, Arnie became a legend. He avoided traps for years, walking around like he knew the city belonged to him. Eventually he decided he was ready for luxury, stepped into the trap on his own terms, and moved indoors. Now he lives like royalty and has no interest in returning to the outside world. Soft beds, warm naps, window thrones, maybe a cape during special occasions. Arnie has embraced it all. He loves people and does great with kids. He also lives peacefully with other cats and seems to enjoy being part of a feline court. Dogs, however, are strictly not welcome. Arnie says no. He will need a dog-free home. Arnie is a big, handsome brown tabby with giant white paws and a calm, confident energy. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fluffy Tail is a 1 to 2 year old male. He is black with a couple white whiskers. He is the most beautiful of all my fosters. He has green eyes that have a couple colors in them. His fur is thick and unbelievably soft. Fluffy Tail loves rolling around on the floor and getting head to tail front and back petting. He really enjoys toys and playing. He loves interactive toys. He also enjoys the cat tower and looking out the window. Fluffy can be shy and will hide out when he feels the need to. It may take a week or so to get him out of his shell but he’s a really good boy and a great cat. Fluffy thinks that Churus are the best treat ever and they can be used for bonding. He also enjoys Temptation treats. Fluffy Tail would be a great addition to any home . He is a super sweet and loving boy!
