Older gal who’s hoping a kind person will take her in and spoil her in her golden yearsHer previous person sadly had to go into the nursing home; family members cared for Trea as long as they couldAccording to family, Trea previously lived with another cat in her younger years but has been a solo pet for over 10 years now – so she may do best in a similar environment, where she can have all the spotlight on herShe loves to catch some sun in front of windows or lounged out on the porchEnjoys attention and brushing, but will communicate when she’d like a breakOnce Trea bonds with someone, they become her favorite and she turns into a lap cat who also prefers to snuggle in bed at night!Can still be pretty playful with her favorite mouse toys — especially in the middle of the night — and gets a thrill out of laser pointersHas a fondness for food puzzle toys with treat rewardsNot a fan of loud noises or sudden movementsNeeds an adopter who’s patient and understanding while Trea adjusts to these sudden life changes and acclimates to her new home, on her own time. Observations from Spats' foster home: "Spats is very slow to warm up. It took about 3 weeks of leaving him alone to find his comfort. He was in the room but observing from afar. Slowly he got closer and closer, and now he's the most loving cat we've had. Patience is the key for sure. He LOVES Churus, plays well with our dog, but knows his boundaries. Spats is calm and cool. The tip of his tongue is out slightly most of the time, so cute!"Since Spats is under 6 months of age, it is our policy that he joins a home with another cat/kitten or be adopted with another kitten. Magnolia’s looking for her special place to feel safe and blossom. She came to Winona Area Humane Society from part of an outdoor colony, and she gave birth to two kittens the day after arriving. Thankfully, a devoted foster welcomed Magnolia’s little family home where she raised her kittens in comfort. And now that they’ve begun their own adventures, it’s Magnolia’s turn to receive all the care!Because Magnolia has experienced a lot of shifting within the past few months, she’s still pretty unsure of her surroundings and may withdraw from the commotion at first. But with the help of treats and gentle chin scratches, she gets that purr motor going and is receptive to making friends.Magnolia loves to burrow under blankets, establishing a safe space where she can peek out to see what’s going on. She’s more interested in snuggling up vs. playtime, although that may change within the calmness of a home.As of now, Magnolia prefers her own personal bubble and hasn’t been a fan of close contact with other cats. That could be dependent on each personality involved and, again, may be different once she’s out of the chaotic shelter environment. We envision her coexisting well with another relaxed cat who also enjoys the calmer things in life.For anyone seeking to change a life through adoption, we encourage you to give Magnolia a chance.
