He’s grown up here at the shelter, sharing his space with other cats. When it comes to feline friends, he’s a natural companion. But humans? **Not his cup of tea.**Black Top prefers his own company (and that of other cats) over human affection. He’s the kind of cat who watches the world from a quiet corner, content to observe life without being in the spotlight. If you're looking for a laid-back feline who doesn't need constant attention, Black Top might just be your perfect match. **Black Top’s Highlights:**- Independent and reserved- Gets along well with other cats- Prefers minimal human interaction- Would thrive in a quiet home with other catsBlack Top is looking for a special kind of home — one where his boundaries are respected, and his unique personality is appreciated. If you’ve got space for an independent soul and understand that love comes in many forms, **Black Top will fit right in.** **Adopt Black Top. He’s not here to cuddle, but he’s here to stay.** August 4, 2025, 4:47 pm

Story
Butterfly is a beautiful young mama who came to us from a large stray colony after lovingly raising her kittens—all of whom have since found wonderful homes. Now it’s her turn. She’s a shy and cautious girl who’s still learning to trust people, but beneath her timid exterior is a gentle sweetheart. Butterfly is sensitive to sudden movements and loud noises, so she thrives best in a calm, quiet environment with someone who can give her the patience, safety, and security she truly deserves. With time and love, this delicate girl will blossom.August 15, 2025, 9:49 am

Story
Please contact Nancy Whelan (adoptionsakny@gmail.com), (518) 822-8643 for more information about this pet.Benjamina is a quiet soul with a gentle heart. She came to us after his previous guardian passed away, and she’s been part of our rescue family for several years now. While Benjamina isn’t particularly interested in human affection—she prefers brief interactions with the few staff he trusts—he loves the company of other cats, warm naps in the sun, and the peaceful rhythm of outdoor life.Though he’s safe and well-cared for here, we would love to see Benjamin spend his golden years in a home that understands her quiet nature. A calm, cat-friendly environment where he can enjoy the simple things—companionship, safety, and the freedom to be himself—would be the greatest gift.October 16, 2025, 5:26 pm
