Story
This poor guy was abandoned by his family. They moved and just put him out on the street to fend for himself. The homeless people in the area began abusing him. A good Samaritan worried for his safety contacted us. He has been vetted and this sweet guy just can't catch a break. He is under 2 years old and is neutered, but is positive for FIV. (equivalent to HIV in humans). He can go on to live many years and lead a normal life with good nutrition and a low stress environment. Due to the virus it is recommended that he be in a home with no other cats, unless they too are infected. He is such a sweet boy. If you have a soft spot in your heart for needy and forgotten felines, please think about giving this gentle guy a loving home.

Story
My name is Vance. I was roaming a Hilliard neighborhood in late Fall. It's no fun being abandoned, but I would show up at this one house and find dinner waiting for me. In January just before it got really cold and snowy, they took me inside and gave me my own room. I slept for 3 days. I am a dark brown/black tabby, male, est 1-1/2 to 2 years old. I went to the vet and have been neutered and vaccinated. There are plenty of cats in this home already, so I would like a place of my own with someone who is patient and kind and will help me adjust to new surroundings. I'm doing a better job of trusting people than I used to and I welcome her when she opens the door. I don't think I'm ready for children and I don't know what to expect with dogs. If you have a safe, warm and cozy barn and give me yummy food, water and TLC, that would be ok too. Story
Shelly was rescued from a local senior center where we have been doing a trapping project to spay the final female cats. Shelly was only a baby when she was found with several other kittens.  Shelly was a bit more shy than the other kittens, but has really warmed up and is a super snuggler (as you can see from the photos where she is in her foster mom's lap). She is a little unsure of new people, so she will need time to adjust and feel safe before she shows her true snuggly personality. We would recommend keeping her in her own area at first to let her acclimate, but giving her lots of cuddles so she will quickly trust her new family and show what a sweet, funny girl she is. Shelly is about 7 months old and truly deserves her own family.  Shelly is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, treated preventatively for fleas/ticks, and dewormed.  Shelly did initially test positive for the feline leukemia virus (FeLV). It appeared that she was fighting off the virus, but a recent re-check leads us to believe she is going to remain positive for the virus. FeLV is a viral infection that affects the immune system, making it harder for a cat’s body to fight off infections. While it’s not curable, it is manageable with good veterinary care, a healthy diet, and a stress-free indoor lifestyle. Cats with FeLV need routine wellness checks, prompt treatment for any illness, and regular preventative care like vaccines and parasite control. FeLV is spread between cats through close contact (like grooming or sharing food bowls), so Shelly must either be an only cat or live with other FeLV-positive companions. It’s important to know that FeLV affects cats differently—some live only a few years, while others remain healthy for much longer. Right now, Shelly is in excellent health, full of playful kitten energy, and showing no signs of illness. What she needs most is a loving home where she can enjoy life to the fullest, surrounded by people who adore her as much as she’ll adore them.  To learn more about this condition visit: https://resources.bestfriends.org/article/feline-leukemia-felv-faqs She likes other cats (must be FeLV positive), could be easily introduced to a cat loving dog, and would be best with older children who are knowledgeable and respectful of slightly shyer kitties.  If you are interested in learning more about Shelly, please email us at bandocats@gmail.com to request an application or ask questions. January 7, 2026, 10:59 am

Story
Whiskey is a medium haired black and white male kitten.  He is approximately 3-4 months old.  He was found with his feral mom and sister under an abandoned house.   Whiskey was rescued at about 5 weeks old so he is very social and sweet.  Whiskey is cuddly and spends a lot of time on his foster mom’s lap.   Whiskey is very playful and loves to carry toys around in his mouth.  He also loves interactive toys like feathers on a wand.  Any movement will interest him and he’s ready to play!   Whiskey is bonded with his sister, Rye, so the two must be adopted together. There is only one adoption fee if the pair are adopted together.  Whiskey is clean and litter box trained.  He is neutered, vaccinated, flea treated and de-wormed and tested negative for feline leukemia/FIV.  Please consider Whiskey and his sister Rye.  They are good with other cats and older, cat savvy and respectful children. They are also young enough that they could be introduced to a dog.  If you would like more information on Whiskey and Rye, please email us for an adoption application at bandocats@gmail.com  January 12, 2026, 10:41 am

Story
This is the second of several cats taken from a residence where the sweet elderly home owner was placed in a nursing facility due to her ailing health. Her only request is that homes be found for her beloved cats. She is heartbroken that she can no longer be with her fur babies, but hopes there is a kind soul that would be willing to house and love her kitties. Samantha is a sweet girl approximately 4/5 years of age. She is a little distrustful, but warms up quickly. She has been spayed, vaccinated, FIV/FeLV tested (-), and flea treated.

Story
Chiquita and her 5 kittens were found on the streets ,hungry and trying to survive. They are being cared for at an experienced foster home where they are receiving plenty of food and love. She and her kittens have been vaccinated and altered. She will be microchipped before going to her new family. Chiquita has been FIV /FeLV tested (-) and She is in good health. The vets office thought she could be a Russian Blue but we arent sure due to her eye color. Whatever breed this sweetheart is doesn’t really matter because she is beautiful, loving and deserves a wonderful home and family to spend the rest of her life with. If you are interested in making her a part of your family, please submit an application on our website, canaananimalsanctuary.org
