Story
Van is a healthy, affectionate adult cat whom I've had since he was a kitten. He was amusingly mischievous in his youth but has settled into 'adulting' very well. He is perfect for someone who has a lot of love to give and receive. Like all cats, he sleeps a fair bit, but when awake, likes to be in your company -- be it snuggled up, or just across the room. A lovely fellow, we have enjoyed a lot of great times together. My new partner is terribly allergic to cats. I know Van will bring a lot of joy to someone new. He has had consistent and excellent veterinary care his entire life. Good eater, very clean and tidy (with self-grooming, and with regards to the litter box.) Low maintenance and lots of love!

Story
Bob Jr. is a sweet but very timid little gentleman, like, full-on tuxedo and everything, as if he’s permanently dressed for a very fancy event but would rather not be perceived at it. At first, he’s more of a quiet observer than a participant. He might hang back, watching the world like a tiny, black-and-white philosopher, trying to decide if it’s safe to join in. New things can be a bit overwhelming, so he takes his time (and honestly, who can blame him? Life can be a lot). But if you’re patient and kind, Bob Jr. will slowly start to come out of his shell. He’ll inch a little closer, accept a gentle pet, and eventually decide that you are, in fact, trustworthy. He enjoys chin scratches and a tasty treat now and then. No drama, no chaos, just a shy little tuxedo guy learning that the world isn’t so scary after all.Bob Jr. would do best in a calm, patient home with cat savvy adults that understands that bravery doesn’t always look loud, sometimes it looks like a cat leaning into some love. And when he finally curls up beside you in his little tux like he’s been yours forever? That’s a moment worth waiting for!At HSKWSP we do not assign our dogs or cats with a breed as we cannot guarantee the specific breed that they are. All dogs are labelled as small, medium and large breed and cats are labelled as DSH, DMH and DLH based on their characteristics.***NOTE*** Please remember that animals are coming back from foster care to the centres for their meet and greets. They will be experiencing a new environment and meeting new people, which means they may not exhibit the same behaviours they did in their foster videos or while in foster care.If you are viewing this animal through 24Petconnect by PetPlace or Adopt-a-pet, please visit our website https://kwsphumane.ca/adopt/process to submit an application. Story
Meet Gary, a truly special boy with a little bit of a serious looking face but with a personality that couldn’t be more different from what it suggests. Don’t be fooled by his expression; underneath is a very friendly, very sweet cat just waiting to show you who he really is. Gary is the kind of cat who warms up beautifully with a little kindness. Offer him some pets, and you’ll quickly discover his secret talent: a powerful but soft purr engine that starts up almost instantly and keeps going as long as the affection does. He loves connection and has such a loving personality. This wonderful boy is looking for an equally special home, someone who will appreciate what an affectionate cat he truly is. Gary would thrive with a person or family who understands that trust takes a moment, but is absolutely worth the wait!If you’re looking for a cat with personality, heart, and a little bit of misunderstood charm, Gary might just be your perfect match! Come meet him today!**This cat’s adoption fee has been reduced to help them find their forever home! Applicants will still need to complete our regular adoption process and meet all of this pet’s requirements to be approved**At HSKWSP we do not assign our dogs or cats with a breed as we cannot guarantee the specific breed that they are. Story
Meet Pickles, a tiny enchanted cat who is absolutely bursting with love and purrs. Though the shelter can feel like a very big and noisy place for a young cat, you can already see just how badly she wants attention and affection. She’ll watch you carefully with hopeful eyes, lingering close by, wanting pets and comfort… she’s just a tiny bit hesitant while she works up the courage. The second Pickles starts to feel safe, her little purr motor kicks on like magic, soft and steady and impossible not to fall in love with! She would thrive in a calm home where she can settle in at her own pace and be given the patience and kindness she deserves. Once her confidence grows, we think Pickles is going to become the sweetest little cat she was meant to be, always hoping for love and chin scratches! If you have room in your home for a gentle little soul and believe the best friendships are the ones built slowly, Pickles may just be your perfect match. At HSKWSP we do not assign our dogs or cats with a breed as we cannot guarantee the specific breed that they are. Story
Meet Wilbur, a handsome boy with a big purr and an even bigger love for chin scratches! This affectionate fellow enjoys spending time with his people and will happily lean in for pets, attention, and of course a few tasty treats along the way. In fact, snacks may just be the quickest route straight to Wilbur’s heart. One thing to note with Wilbur is that he is a cat who appreciates having his boundaries respected. He enjoys affection on his own terms and is very good at letting you know when he’s had his fill of cuddles for the moment. Because of this, he would do best in a home with older children and adopters who have previous cat experience and understand feline body language. Wilbur is so fluffy and between his loud purrs and love of attention, it’s easy to see why everyone falls for him. Shelter life has been a little stressful for this sensitive guy, and he is more than ready to trade kennel life for a cozy forever home of his own! If you’re looking for a cat with personality, affection, and plenty of purrs, Wilbur may just be your perfect match!**This cat has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). They’ll need to join a home with other FIV-positive cats or be your one-and-only feline friend. With proper care, many cats with FIV live long, happy, and healthy lives full of love and companionship***At HSKWSP we do not assign our dogs or cats with a breed as we cannot guarantee the specific breed that they are.
