Story
Grayden was a stray on a farm and is nervous of people, although he is allowing the staff to pet him now. He likes to hide in a safe place. He is a shy cat that needs time to get comfortable with people. Because of his outdoor life and probable fights with other male cats, he has tested positive for the FIV virus. Feline Immuno-deficiency Virus (FIV) is a disease that only affects cats and cannot be transmitted to humans or other animals. Grayden has been with us since January 2021.If you would like to make an appointment to meet him, please contact the shelter for an appointment at 519-833-2287 or email info@uppercredit.com

Story
This is Clarke! He is timid in new situations and would be best as the only animal in the house to start with. No other cats. He will come out of his shell with lots of one on one contact, brushes and affection. Clarke has been tested positive for F.I.V but still has a lot of potential to grow. The shelter is just a little too much for him so he stays in hiding, and he is very good at finding places to hide. He is actually the top hide and seek champion, but the staff always take time out of their day to find him and let him know things will be okay. Clarke has been with us since September 17, 2021. Please contact the shelter at 519-833-2287 or email info@uppercredit.com if you would like to know more about Clarke. The staff would be more than happy to talk with you about him.

Story
Wilson is a shy cat that will need some time to get used to trusting people. He was brought to the shelter in Feb 2023 when his outdoor home was no longer able to be managed by his caretakers which meant he would be without food and water. He was already neutered and microchipped when he was part of a TNR program years before. Wilson has paid the price of living the hard outdoor life and is ready for the safety and patience of a home. Wilson gets along well with other cats and enjoys his wet food. He will need a home that will accept him as he is and give him all the time he needs. He has tested negative for FIV.To meet Wilson, please contact the shelter for an appointment at 519-833-2287 or email info@uppercredit.com

Story
River came to us with his Mom and siblings March 14, 2023 from a small rescue that was overwhelmed. This little family went to a foster home to allow the best outcome possible for them. River is a sweet cuddly kitten, playful and adventurous. He loves his treats and wet food. He is very social.River developed a condition called FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). This condition creates fluid in the abdomen and is fatal to cats. Luckily River was enrolled in the FIP study program and went through 84 days receiving daily GS pills and then 90 days receiving Mefloquine pills. We are thrilled to say that River survived his FIP diagnosis and is now a "FIP Survivor". The FIP treatment cost approximately $3,000.00. While River is cured now, he may or may not relapse but he is doing great so far. It is for this reason that we require a very strong vet relationship with a healthy cushion for vet related expenses. For more information about River and his success story, please contact the shelter at 519 833 2287 or by email at info@uppercredit.com.

Story
Lily was a very young mom of 5 kittens when she came into the care of UCHS. They were all found outside on May 21,2023 living under a neighborhood shed when the kittens were about 4-weeks of age. Lily happily continued being an awesome mom in a foster home where canned food was plentiful and she could finally relax and just take care of her babies. Now her babies are old enough and have found their own paths in good homes; so should Lily. Lily is extremely shy and will likely need a very patient, quiet home that will give her the time to feel safe. It will take a very special adopter to make room in their hearts for this beautiful girl.If you are interested in meeting Lily, please call 519-833-2287 or email info@uppercredit.com
