Story
Hi… I’m Frankie. I might be a little quiet when we first meet, but there’s a very sweet, gentle girl hiding just beneath my shy exterior. I came from a home with other cats and even a dog, and I got along well with everyone—we’d nap together, play, and just peacefully share space. I’ve always been a kind companion, never one to bite or act aggressively. Big changes can feel overwhelming for me, and I can be a bit anxious in new environments. Because of that, I sometimes struggled with using my litter box in my previous home. The shelter staff think it may have been due to stress, and they’re helping me feel safe and supported while keeping an eye on my progress. With patience, understanding, and a calm environment, I have so much potential to thrive. I do enjoy affection—but on my terms. I’m not much of a lap cat, and I prefer not to be picked up, but when I’m in the mood for pets, I’ll happily soak them in. When I’ve had enough, I’ll simply get up and walk away—no fuss, just gentle communication. Playtime is another way to win me over! I love batting around little balls and chasing string toys—it helps me build confidence and brings out my playful side. I would do best in a quieter home with patient people who understand that I may need time to adjust and feel safe. I haven’t been around children, and because I can be fearful, a calm environment would really help me come out of my shell. What makes me special? My soft, gentle nature and the way I show love in my own quiet way. Once I trust you, those little moments of affection mean everything. If you’re someone who can offer me patience, understanding, and a peaceful place to land, I’d love the chance to show you just how sweet I truly am.

Story
Hello, I`m Muffin. I spend my days quietly observing from cozy corners, a bit timid in nature. The bustling shelter life can be overwhelming, but I`ve found solace in soft whispers and gentle pats. I dream of a serene home where I can blossom at my own pace, feeling safe and cherished. If you seek a quiet companion to share calm moments and offer a peaceful retreat, I might just be the perfect match. Adopting me means gaining a loyal friend who appreciates the quieter, gentler side of life.

Story
Hi… I’m Poseidon. Life has been a little confusing lately. I was found as a stray, so not much is known about where I came from or what I’ve been through before arriving at the shelter. Right now, I’m still trying to figure everything out. The shelter is a big, loud, scary place for a shy guy like me, and I’ve been feeling pretty overwhelmed by all the new sounds, smells, and people. Because of that, I may seem quiet or reserved at first. I’m the kind of cat who needs a little patience, understanding, and lots of TLC to help me feel safe again. But underneath my nervous shell is a sweet soul who just wants a calm home where I can finally relax and learn what it feels like to truly belong. I’m looking for a forever family who will give me the time I need to come out of my shell at my own pace. A cozy spot to hide, gentle voices, and kind hands would mean the world to me. Once I realize I’m safe, I know I’ll start to blossom into the cat I’m meant to be. More than anything, I’m hoping to leave the shelter soon and find a loving home where I can feel secure, cared for, and loved forever. Could you be the one to give me my fresh start?

Story
Hi… I’m Mimi. I might be a little quiet when we first meet—just giving you time to understand that I like to observe things before I join in. I promise I’m not ignoring you, I’m just doing my “gentle introduction” routine. Once I feel safe, my softer side starts to show. The fastest way to my heart? Head scratches. Seriously. If you find the right spot, you’ll see me slowly melt into the moment like I’ve been waiting for it my whole life. I may even lean in a little closer… just to make sure you don’t stop too soon. I’m a sweet, shy-leaning girl who blossoms with patience and kindness. I don’t need a loud or busy life—just someone calm who understands that trust takes a little time, but is worth every second. Once I settle in, I start to show how much I enjoy being near my people, especially when there are gentle pets involved. I’m looking for a forever home where I can feel safe, loved, and understood at my own pace. In return, I’ll give you soft companionship, quiet company, and all the head-bump affection I can offer. If you’ve got a calm heart and a gentle hand… I think I could really learn to love you. I will be at PetSmart Dougall starting May 12th!

Story
H-hey everybody… it’s Fredward Benson reporting live from the Humane Society. Unlike the original Fredward Benson, I’m not exactly ready to jump into the spotlight right away. I can be a little shy when meeting new people, and shelter life has been pretty overwhelming for a sensitive guy like me. Loud noises, lots of activity, cameras in my face? Okay… maybe not cameras, but you get the idea. At first, I might hang back and quietly observe from a safe spot while I decide if you’re part of the good cast or the suspicious side characters. But if you give me time, patience, and a calm place to settle in, you’ll start to see my real personality come out. Beneath the nervousness, I’m a sweet, playful, affectionate little guy who really does want love — I just need a chance to feel safe first. Once I warm up, I enjoy playing, exploring, and being near my people. I may not be ready to host my own web show immediately, but with the right forever family, I think I could become a pretty confident co-star someday. I’m looking for someone who understands that friendships don’t always happen in the first episode… sometimes the best stories take a little time to develop. So if you’ve got a cozy blanket, a little patience, and room in your heart for a shy kitten learning how to trust, I think we could make a pretty great team.
