Story
This is a Gigi an almost 2 year old male cat I have been taking care of since he was a week or two old. My friend found him in a parking lot by himself. My friend waited for hours but the mother never showed up. This little guy has been in my care ever since. He is also neutered and up to date on his vaccines. Gigi is a friendly cat and will warm up to strangers very quickly. He also doesn’t mind being picked up and carried. Gigi really likes to give affection and he play with you as long as you’re willing to. That means he has a lot of energy. My house also has an older cat and dog that he gets along with. Gigi would do good in a big household or small one. All he really needs is love and attention, with that he will do great with anyone.

Story
Amelia Rose came to us with a terrible upper respiratory infection that destroyed her left eye. This poor girl also had just about every intestinal parasite a cat can get. For the first month in foster care, she was forced to endure frequent doses of yukky medications. She was very hand shy to begin with, and constantly being grabbed and held for medication has caused her to be very hand shy. She loves to be petted, however if she thinks I'm going to try to grab her, she takes off. She will get on my lap and cuddles with me in bed, but she can't be picked up. I had to sneak up on her to catch her for her spay surgery and she has already forgiven me for that. She will need a patient owner and a very calm home. Crazy dogs running around or young kids being loud and running through the house would terrify her.Amelia is not a hider. When we have company over, she does come out watch what's going on. If I have a friend over to watch movies, Amelia may get on her lap, but if we have several friends over for game night, she just watches from a distance. She really just hates the idea of being held or picked up. Nail trims or giving medication will be next to impossible unless she overcomes her fear of being held. I've only trimmed her nails once and it required getting her to eat a sedative in a treat, waiting for her to go into a dog crate for food and locking her in there. I then called a friend to come over and it took about 5 minutes to be able to catch her with a towel, even though she was crated. My friend then had to hold her down on the sofa, while I searched for her paws inside the towel so I could do her nails. It was quite a process and not something I look forward to doing again.Amelia's best friend is another kitten that's been here for a few months while being treated for an eye issue. She chases and wrestles with the kitten many times during the day. She gets along with everyone from my younger cats to my seniors and is fine with our mellow dogs. I do not adopt my kittens out as an only cat. If you are interested, please email Beagmom1@yahoo.com. Thank you. **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home. Adoption fees are usually $50 for cats and between $150-$250 for dogs, unless the pet is sponsored or we are running a promotion. Story
Ramona Hello everyone, my name is Ramona, let me tell you a little about myself. Now, I don't mind having some hang-out time with a girlfriend once in a while, a girl needs some girl talk and all. But honestly, what I really love is having a handsome man give me a good chin scratch, head pet, or brushing. Girl, don't get me started on how amazing it feels to curl up in your man's lap and have him brush you for as long as you want! What can I say, I'm a sucker for a man. I'd rather be roomies with a guy than another girl if I am being honest here. I'm also not willing to share my man with other cats, but can you blame a girl? Who would share their man? I have met a few dogs and they are okay as long as they leave me alone. Also, not to sound like a diva, but I do need two litter boxes because I don't like having to go #2 where I already went #1. I honestly don't know how you humans do it. I will admit, I'm a senior cat and I do have times where I may miss the box but these lovely puppy pee pads catch what the box doesn't, plus I love the blue color (makes my eyes pop). This aging beauty must also admit I do have some arthritis in my hips, I can't swing dance like I used to. I may need pain medication as I get older, and more beautiful, but that is a bridge to cross later. I do prefer though, since my hips hurt, that my man not touch my back. I'm not into back massages or pets, it just doesn't feel good. Sadly, I was found by this lovely organization as a stray and I cannot tell them just how old I am, language barrier and a lady never reveals her age anyway. We just age like fine wine......whatever that is. But this little lady still has many more years to live, her sass and her class. I would love to find a kindhearted, patient gentleman to take me home and give me the life I need. So, won't you come be my knight in shining armor and adopt me? If you have any questions please email info@sheltertohome.com for an application. Adoption fee is $50**All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. Story
What can I say I'm a beautiful sleek silky black Diva. I'm hoping to find a furever home with a kitten or cat buddy. I love all my foster friends. I even live among dogs. I'm looking for a special family. I am very shy. My foster mom keeps saying I've come a long way. I was a very frightened kitten when she took me in. It took me several months to warm up to her. I still don't like being picked up but I do like my scratches and lots of petting. I would need a room to hang out in until I got adjusted to my new digs. I love my treats and my laser toy. Hope to meet you soon!**All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. Story
Templeton and his brother were taken from an especially rough hoarding situation. Police intervened and all animals were extracted. It took a while for Templeton to overcome his fear of being hurt, but he did it! And is he ever a silly boy! He would thrive in a home with another mild mannered cat, and currently lives with calm dogs. If you want to know more about this cat, email us here: wacvolunteers@gmail.com! * AGE: 2 years old * TEMPERAMENT: Lap cat, would be ok as a solitary or with another mild cat * Why are they at the shelter? Rescued by police * Any Health issues? None known but can be nervous in hectic surroundings * How are they with other cats? Dogs? Good but needs to be with gentle animals * Volunteer Comments? " Templeton is such a brave cat!" "He loves brushing and attention." Thank you for your interest in adopting a shelter cat! NOW HOW DO I MEET OR ADOPT THIS CAT? !. Story
My name is John. I was born in October, 2021. I am a handsome gray dude. My foster mom's say I have come a long way. My sister and I take turns staying at each of our two-foster mom's homes. That is so we can get use to different surroundings. I used to be growly and hissy. I am still on the shy side. I would do best in a quiet home, a house without kids. I need someone who has patience in wanting me to interact. It might take a little time for me to feel comfortable and hang out with you. I get along with my foster kitties of all ages. I would love it if I could be adopted with my sister (Astrid). We understand each other. My sister (Astrid) and I have so much fun together. We love to bird watch and to catch flies. We like to play with everything, even with stuff we are not supposed to play with (lol). If you are in the kitchen or eating something while you are watching tv, we will meow at you. (That is telling you we want a bite to eat.) We are both easy to take care of.**All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter.
