Story
My wife and I adopted Hughie from one of her coworkers last year, as we already had a cat and she was unable to find someone to adopt him. He is 1 year and 9 months old. He is a little timid, but when you get to know him he becomes very talkative and loves to be pet. He loves to play, and especially loves to "hunt" his toys. He would do well in a home that is a single pet home, and is in a quieter neighborhood. He is a spunky little guy and we hope that he can find a new home that loves him as much as we do.

Story
I was watching two cats for someone who had unfortunately fallen on worser times and became homeless so I offered to watch the cats for a period of 6 months and give him time to get everything together until the time came and he cut communication and hasn’t reached out since, I have cats of my own aswell which peaches seems to want her own independent space and attention which has lead to any unfavorable environment for her, my cats aswell myself and my child with her starting to urinate in the crib aswell other places from the stress of being a more independent animal which most calicos are outside of these recent issues she’s very friendly towards people and is overall very affectionate/cuddly and has gotten along with others cats and still does amongst calmer breeds. I’m just looking for a safe home for her so every cat, person can feel more comfortable.

Story
Age: 4 Years Good with dogs? No Good with cats? No Good with kids? Yes Energy Level: Moderate Adoption Fee: $75 Any other info: Meet The Fiend. She may have a name that sounds fierce, and don't get us wrong, she certainly lives up to her name, but she hides a heart that just wants to feel safe and adored. This absolutely stunning black beauty was rescued from the streets after trying to survive on her own but unfortunately didn't get along with the other house cats and has found herself in the shelter. We may never know what she experienced out there, but it’s clear she learned she had to look out for herself which may be why she prefers not to share her space with other animals. Shelter life has been a big adjustment, and she’s still understandably a bit on guard while she figures things out. But here’s what we do know: in a home where she feels secure, The Fiend shows her true colors, affectionate, friendly, and deeply people oriented. Her previous family shared that she did well with kids and loved attention once she trusted her humans. She wants connection just on her own terms and without competing paws nearby. She is around 4 years old, spayed, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and triple tested negative for FIV, FelV, and Heartworm disease. The Fiend is searching for a calm, loving home where she can be the one and only pet,.the queen of the castle, the center of your world, and the receiver of all the chin scratches, cozy spots, and tasty treats. Give her a little patience and reassurance, and you’ll gain a loyal, loving companion with movie star looks and a soft, grateful heart. Can you be the safe place she’s been waiting for? Don't make her wait any longer than she already has, apply today through the link below. https://serenityanimalhospital.net/cat-adoption-application/ Once your application has been processed, our adoptions team will reach out to schedule an in person meet and greet. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our adoption fee includes the pets spay or neuter, microchip, up to date vaccines, FelV/FIV/Heartworm test and fecal check. Story
Age: 2 Years Good with dogs? No Good with cats? Unknown Good with kids? Older Energy Level: Moderate Adoption Fee: $75 Any other info: Meet Hugo. Your future professional cuddle supervisor and full time love bug is ready for a home. Hugo didn’t choose the outdoor life, he chose people. This sweet boy was found going door to door, scratching and begging to be let inside for warmth, safety, and affection. When the frigid cold hit, it was clear he’d been braving the elements far too long for a cat with such a soft heart. Now safely indoors, Hugo has made it very clear what he wants most: you. He adores attention, melts for chin scratches, and will happily roll around in your lap like he’s performing for applause. He’s wonderfully vocal and loves having full on conversations so expect daily chats, opinions, and loving commentary about his meals and your schedule. Hugo did test positive for FIV, but don’t let that scare you. FIV+ cats can live long, happy, perfectly normal lives with routine care and an indoor home. What matters most is that he’s thriving, affectionate, and overflowing with love to give. Hugo is around 2 years old and has a big tomcat face and the most beautiful stripped markings down his back. He is now neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and tested negative for FelV and heartworm disease. All Hugo wants now is a warm lap, a listening ear, and a forever family who will never make him knock on doors again. He just wants a chance to be the adoring house cat he was always meant to be. Can you help him with that? If so, apply today through the link below. https://serenityanimalhospital.net/cat-adoption-application/ Once your application has been processed, our adoptions team will reach out to schedule an in person meet and greet. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our adoption fee includes the pets spay or neuter, microchip, up to date vaccines, FelV/FIV/Heartworm test and fecal check. Story
Age: 15 Months Weight: Good with dogs? Yes - slow intros Good with cats? Yes - slow intros Good with kids? Yes Energy Level: Moderate Adoption Fee: $75.00 Any other info: Meet Kabocha Male | Domestic Shorthair | Survivor & Snugglebug Extraordinaire If ever there was a cat who embodied the phrase “miracle kitten,” it’s Kabocha. This copper eyed wonder was surrendered to us on Thanksgiving Eve of last year as an emergency medical case and what a wild journey he’s had since. After countless tests, we discovered a liver shunt and rallied the community to fund a risky, specialized surgery. Kabocha pulled through like a champ. Just as he was bouncing back, he faced another life threatening hurdle: a urinary blockage that required emergency PU surgery. Once again, he beat the odds. Despite his medical challenges, Kabocha's spirit remains bright and full of life. He is the epitome of a wonderful kitty, and we believe he will make an incredible companion for the right family. Today, Kabocha is thriving. His bloodwork looks fantastic, he’s off all medications, and aside from possibly needing prescription food (we’re still figuring that out), he’s a totally normal, happy go lucky cat living his best life. But don't let that adorable face fool you, this little fighter has a spicy side too, which he desperately needed to fight through all of the setbacks that got him here. Kabocha is neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and triple tested negative for FIV, FelV, and heartworm disease. While we can't quite say what his future will look like medically, right now he is doing great and would love to break out of the shelter after the year he has had. Kabocha is friendly, outgoing, and full of love. He greets everyone like an old friend and has a fighter’s spirit wrapped in a snuggly, purring package. After everything he’s been through, he’s ready for the one thing he hasn’t had yet, a forever family to love him as fiercely as he loves life. Come meet Kabocha. He’s not just a survivor...he’s a star. If you have the purrfect home for Kabocha, please apply through the link below. https://serenityanimalhospital.net/cat-adoption-application/ Once your application has been processed, our adoptions team will reach out to schedule a meet and greet in person with Kabocha. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our adoption fee includes the pets spay or neuter, microchip, up to date vaccines, FelV/FIV/Heartworm test and fecal check. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.
