Story
Hi… I’m Frankie. I might be a little quiet when we first meet, but there’s a very sweet, gentle girl hiding just beneath my shy exterior. I came from a home with other cats and even a dog, and I got along well with everyone—we’d nap together, play, and just peacefully share space. I’ve always been a kind companion, never one to bite or act aggressively. Big changes can feel overwhelming for me, and I can be a bit anxious in new environments. Because of that, I sometimes struggled with using my litter box in my previous home. The shelter staff think it may have been due to stress, and they’re helping me feel safe and supported while keeping an eye on my progress. With patience, understanding, and a calm environment, I have so much potential to thrive. I do enjoy affection—but on my terms. I’m not much of a lap cat, and I prefer not to be picked up, but when I’m in the mood for pets, I’ll happily soak them in. When I’ve had enough, I’ll simply get up and walk away—no fuss, just gentle communication. Playtime is another way to win me over! I love batting around little balls and chasing string toys—it helps me build confidence and brings out my playful side. I would do best in a quieter home with patient people who understand that I may need time to adjust and feel safe. I haven’t been around children, and because I can be fearful, a calm environment would really help me come out of my shell. What makes me special? My soft, gentle nature and the way I show love in my own quiet way. Once I trust you, those little moments of affection mean everything. If you’re someone who can offer me patience, understanding, and a peaceful place to land, I’d love the chance to show you just how sweet I truly am.

Story
Hi there, I’m Austin. I’m a 2½-year-old handsome white kitty looking for a forever home with my brother and best friend, Texas. We’re a bonded pair, which means we need to be adopted together-we’ve always had each other and wouldn’t want it any other way. When you first meet us, we’ll likely be very shy and a bit shut down. Big changes can be scary for sensitive cats like us. But with time, patience, and a calm home, we may start to come out of our shells and show you our sweet sides.I`m a Hidden Gem, so my adoption fee is waived ($30 admin fee still applies)!I’m a gentle guy who enjoys being pet, but you have to go slow and let me decide when it’s time for attention. When I’ve had enough, I’ll simply wander off to find a cozy spot for a nap. I’m not much of a lap cat and I’m not a big fan of being picked up, but I’m polite about it—I’ll just squirm away without using my claws.I do have a playful side though, especially when it comes to chasing mouse toys. I can do well with older, considerate children who understand that I’m a quiet, sensitive cat. Dogs make me nervous though, so a dog-free home would be best for me and Texas. If you have a calm home and a kind heart, my brother and I would love the chance to grow more confident with you and finally find our forever family.I`m a Hidden Gem, so my adoption fee is waived ($30 admin fee still applies)!

Hi! I`m Dips`n Dots, a kitten with a heart full of love. Although the shelter is safe, I must admit, it`s a bit scary here with so many new faces and sounds. But don`t worry, I`m very friendly once I am comfortable with you! I love meeting new people and dream of a cozy home where I can purr happily. If you`re looking for a sweet companion to share your days with and is willing to be patient and respectful, I promise to be the best friend you could wish for. Let`s create a lifetime of memories together!

Story
Hi… I’m Mimi. I might be a little quiet when we first meet—just giving you time to understand that I like to observe things before I join in. I promise I’m not ignoring you, I’m just doing my “gentle introduction” routine. Once I feel safe, my softer side starts to show. The fastest way to my heart? Head scratches. Seriously. If you find the right spot, you’ll see me slowly melt into the moment like I’ve been waiting for it my whole life. I may even lean in a little closer… just to make sure you don’t stop too soon. I’m a sweet, shy-leaning girl who blossoms with patience and kindness. I don’t need a loud or busy life—just someone calm who understands that trust takes a little time, but is worth every second. Once I settle in, I start to show how much I enjoy being near my people, especially when there are gentle pets involved. I’m looking for a forever home where I can feel safe, loved, and understood at my own pace. In return, I’ll give you soft companionship, quiet company, and all the head-bump affection I can offer. If you’ve got a calm heart and a gentle hand… I think I could really learn to love you. I will be at PetSmart Dougall starting May 12th!

Story
Hey there! I’m Carnivore… but you can call me Carni. My siblings and I came to the shelter as tiny little strays when we were only about a week old. We were lucky enough to grow up in a wonderful foster home where we got lots of love, care, and kitten lessons until we were strong enough for adoption. Now I’m ready to find a forever family of my very own! I’m a playful, sweet kitten who loves to turn absolutely everything into a game. Toys? Amazing. Crinkly things? Incredible. I’m full of curiosity and always ready to explore, but I also have a cuddly side and enjoy curling up close after a busy day of kitten adventures. I may have had a rough start, but now I’m focused on the good stuff: fun, love, treats, naps, and finding humans who will adore me forever. If you’re looking for a tiny best friend with a big heart, I think I’m your guy.

Story
Hi, I’m Milo. I came to the shelter because my person became sick and could no longer take care of me. It wasn’t anyone’s fault, just one of those hard life changes, and now I’m hoping for a new forever home where I can settle in again. I am a strictly indoor cat and I’m a very quiet companion. I don’t demand much and I’m happy to just observe the world around me or nap in a cozy spot. I enjoy playing though—anything that moves, rolls, or catches my attention is interesting to me. I should be honest about what I like and don’t like. I’m not a big fan of being picked up, and I’ll usually just walk away if you try. I also don’t really enjoy being pet or sitting on laps, but I’m still a friendly presence in my own calm, independent way. I’ve never lived with other cats or dogs, so I’m not sure how I would feel about them. I do, however, have a relaxed and friendly nature around children, and I’ve never shown any aggression—I have never bitten or scratched a person. I may not be the cuddly lap cat some people are looking for, but I am gentle, quiet, and playful in my own way. I’m looking for a patient, understanding forever home that will appreciate me just as I am. A generous donation was made by Oma`s Gift that paid for Milo`s adoption fee so the adopter only has to pay their $30 admin fee!
