Story
Hi, I’m Phoenix. I like to be very clear right from the start: I prefer to be in charge of the relationship. I do enjoy affection—curling up in a lap is absolutely my idea—but it has to be on my terms. When I ask for pets, they’re lovely. When I’m done, I’ll calmly walk away and expect my decision to be respected. Being picked up isn’t my thing, and I’m not a fan of face touches either. What I do love? Playtime. Wand toys are my favorite, and I take them very seriously. I’m confident, opinionated, and know exactly what I want. If you appreciate a cat with strong boundaries, lots of personality, and plenty of love to give when the moment is right, apply for me today! Come meet me at Pet Valu Riverside starting February 23rd!

Story
Hi there… I’m Leonidas.I may share my name with a legendary warrior, but these days I’m more of a gentle retiree than a fierce fighter. I’m a senior gentleman with a soft heart and a quiet nature. New places and new faces can make me a little shy at first but I prefer to take my time, observe from a cozy corner, and make sure everything feels safe before I step forward.Once I know I can trust you, you’ll see just how sweet I truly am. I enjoy gentle pets, calm companionship, and peaceful afternoons spent napping in a warm spot. I’m not one for chaos or loud adventures but I’m looking for a serene home where I can relax, feel secure, and be loved for the dignified older fellow I am.I may move a little slower these days, but my capacity for love is as strong as ever. With patience and kindness, I’ll reward you with quiet loyalty, soft purrs, and the comfort only a senior cat can bring. If you have a calm home and a warm heart, I would love to spend my golden years by your side. With quiet courage,Leonidas

Story
Hi there, I’m Austin. I’m a 2½-year-old handsome white kitty looking for a forever home with my brother and best friend, Texas. We’re a bonded pair, which means we need to be adopted together-we’ve always had each other and wouldn’t want it any other way. When you first meet us, we’ll likely be very shy and a bit shut down. Big changes can be scary for sensitive cats like us. But with time, patience, and a calm home, we may start to come out of our shells and show you our sweet sides.I’m a gentle guy who enjoys being pet, but you have to go slow and let me decide when it’s time for attention. When I’ve had enough, I’ll simply wander off to find a cozy spot for a nap. I’m not much of a lap cat and I’m not a big fan of being picked up, but I’m polite about it—I’ll just squirm away without using my claws.I do have a playful side though, especially when it comes to chasing mouse toys. I can do well with older, considerate children who understand that I’m a quiet, sensitive cat. Dogs make me nervous though, so a dog-free home would be best for me and Texas. If you have a calm home and a kind heart, my brother and I would love the chance to grow more confident with you and finally find our forever family.

Story
Hi, I’m Wednesday- yes, like the one from The Addams Family! I may not be as gloomy as my famous namesake, but I do share that sleek, all-black look… and a bit of attitude. Think of me as your very own playful little house panther—with a hint of spice.I’m a 2-year-old boy who came to the shelter when my previous family developed allergies. I’ve lived with other cats before, so I could do well with feline friends again. I’m friendly and love pets… but only on my terms. When I’ve had enough, I’ll let you know—sometimes with a swat or a quick escape. I’m definitely not a lap cat, and I like keeping my paws firmly on the ground.I adore playtime—chasing toys, pouncing, and exploring keeps me happy. I’m an indoor-only cat and enjoy a home where I can safely strut my stuff and show off my personality. If you’re looking for a sleek, playful black cat who knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to show it, I just might be your perfect little panther.

Story
Hi… I’m Band Aid. I’m a 3-year-old guy who’s looking for a fresh start. My previous family had to move and couldn’t take me along, so now I’m searching for my next forever home. It’s been a big change for me, and I can be a little shy at first. New places and new people take some getting used to, so I’ll need you to go slow and let me build confidence at my own pace. I have lived with other cats before and did well, but if I’m joining a home with feline friends, I’ll need a proper, slow introduction to feel safe and comfortable. Once I know everyone means well, I can settle in just fine. Here’s the thing about me: I don’t give my trust away easily. You have to earn it. But once you do? I am the most loyal cat around. I’ll be your quiet companion, your steady shadow, your faithful friend. I bond deeply with my person, and that connection is something really special. So if you’re patient, kind, and willing to let a shy guy come out of his shell in his own time, I promise the reward is worth it.

Story
Hello, I’m Maisey, a gentle lady looking for a quiet forever home. I can be a little shy at first, and you’ll often find me tucked into a cozy cubby or hiding spot while I take time to get comfortable in a new space. Once I start to feel safe though, my sweet side really shines. I love gentle pets and scratches, and I’ll start purring as soon as you give me some attention. I’m still a bit timid, but I’m a very affectionate girl at heart. I do enjoy sitting on laps, though I prefer to come to you when I’m ready. I’m not the biggest fan of being picked up, so I like to keep all four paws on the ground and will politely hop down when I’ve had enough. I’m an indoor-only girl who has lived with dogs before, and while I may need a little time to adjust, I’m a friendly companion once I feel safe. I also have a bit of a playful side and enjoy calm little moments of fun when the mood strikes. What I’m really hoping for is a patient, gentle home where I can take my time, enjoy cozy hiding spots, and share soft purrs and quiet cuddles with my person. If you’re looking for a sweet, shy girl with lots of gentle love to give, I might be the perfect match for you.
